  • Permanently Erase All Data on Android Phone
Whether you are selling your smartphone or giving it away, its important that you secure erase/delete all the data on the mobile phone to stop anyone recovering data on that phone. Remember, all of your sensitive data can be recovered using data recovery software, if you do not permanently secure erase all the data. Important: Factory reset does not erase all of your data.
    Erase All Data Procedure:
    1. Backup Data
    2. Use Shreddit or other data eraser software, use (Erase Full Storage) (optional after run Wipe Empty Space)
    3. Remove any accounts your signed into (example Google)
    4. Optional: Encrypt the phone
    5. Factory Reset The phone
Phone is now clean and ready for its new home.

Here is my question. I have to transfer my data on. my old phone to my new phone and then send the old phone back to the carrier.
I am going to be using Samsung Smart Switch to do the transfer instead of using my Google account to transfer the data.
now do I do the data erasing on the old phone after I transfer the data?
the reason why I ask is because I noticed you said to backup the data before doing the erasing.
my last question is since I am sending the old phone back to the carrier can I still use the encryption method instead of the data erasing method or does it not matter.
I know the carrier still need to access the phone and I don't know of the encryption method bocls anyone from able to use the phone etc...
    Cheers!

I bought a used phone from eBay, which I am returning. I did a reset, but the phone is still in my Google account. I found this video while searching how to remove the device from my Google account. Even after signing out of Google account on the phone, it is still listed as a trusted device. So, I'm trying this app, and I'll go from there.

Hi. Great video. Just had a question. I got an android tablet a few days ago but decided to return it for reasons. I already signed into some accounts and downloaded some apps which i have signed out of and uninstalled. From what i could tell, the device was encrypted by default as i don't think there were any options for me to encrypt data. If it was encrypted, would i need to use shreddit? I've already factory reset the tablet after thinking it was encrypted but now i'm anxious that I forgot something important. Just wondering if you could help. Thanks.
