I found his example of Thomas Jefferson difficult. From what I learned, he removed everything that was NOT the words of Jesus. He wanted a bible that was ONLY the words of Jesus. He also commissioned a version of the Gospels for the Native Americans that they could understand.
One of my questions in life & mostly everyone who believes in God; mainly Indians WHY are they so Cheap!?. I got to think when he said he was bargaining for the watch. I'm christian; as far as i know about God, God never mentioned that we're to be cheap instead God says; it's common sense not to be cheap in life, we all need to prosper & here comes about helping each other, we go to church then we pray, cry, sing then we go out & continue living just like we went in. Some business owners continue to pay the smallest amount as possible. I'm a contractor but I try my best & pay my guys so they also grow. I became like this after I became a christian, but all believers know how God is & what God wants humanity to be. So yeah I just can't do business with Indian people it's like they want to keep every penny from the whole world & that is what makes me say so then what do we learn in church about God? hmm People! realise that others eat just like you, if we continue being this way, tell me where are you making a difference, where are we proving that we love God, & that we follow God? The God of love, giving, kindness,and understanding. These are the things that make none believers say Church people are worse & so on.
