I was just explaining to my wife the differences between types of builds and then brands of said builds like the Gretsch hollowbodies vs. Gibson. A thing of beauty, my dude.
I first seen the Good Reverend in 1992 at The Venue in New Cross, London. On the same bill as The Dwarves and The Supersuckers. The Dwarves caused a riot and fought the audience but The Reverend Horton Heat ruled that night and I have been a fan since.
I myself went to see Reverend Horton Heat about three years ago at the historic Ashland Armory here in my current hometown of Ashland, Oregon USA! I loved it as it was so much fun.
I appreciate some more now at age 40. But I used to watch him open up for everybody to Nirvana To white zombie when I was a kid . Must have saw them live eleven times. Wish I could see those shows again ❤❤ Keep rockin reverend 🤘💀🤘
If Lemmy from Motorhead decided to pursue his love of Little Richard and Rockabilly guitar instead of starting Motorhead .... And in an alternate reality got famous instead in the 80s along with the Stray Cats both bringing Rockabilly back .... I imagine it would have sounded something like this band. Sounds like Motorhead playing Rockabilly
I'm no guitarist bu th I'm gonna take a crack and say this guy is amazing. Lots talk bout james hetfield.trr but james in 88 had super long hair.monsters of rock
I always hear The Meteors guitar from Rawhide in there too. Great track, the entire band are on point (even a drum roll on the double bass drums at the end) noice
HOLY SHIT the guitar sounds like the starvations. Grew up hearing this bands name here and there but never gave em a listen. The starvations are one of my favorite bands of all time, not really ever very popular
This song was a nightmare for me as a kid back in the days of guitar hero 2
im still struggling
Omg yessssss 😂😂😂😂😂
Fr!!!
@@randythomastheinsecures5404 this is how you DON'T advertise your band
Legit flashbacks over here...
That Gretsch is a thing of beauty.
How such a chaotic song can be played so precisely... wow.
I was just explaining to my wife the differences between types of builds and then brands of said builds like the Gretsch hollowbodies vs. Gibson. A thing of beauty, my dude.
That's just the Rev in all his greatness
Those have a pretty flat radius fretboard too. Which some have a problem with….Jim however does does not. 😂. Man he rips
“I spent Sunday listening to the good Reverend’s sermon.”
The Reverend:
1992; 22nd bday; small club; I screamed *FOLSOM PRISON BLUES* !!
And he eyeballed me, then shredded it
One of the greatest, most talented, hardest working bands to come along in a long time. These guys earn every penny.
Every show I've seen has just been amazing
Preach brother!
A lot of fun to see live, too!
add the Paladins = Goats
Great rockabilly jam.....mixed with a punk vibe....outstanding
It's a pyschobilly freakout!
My guy, I was 16 when I heard this Gem!, Now I'm 35.....I ll do the math, it's 28 years bro since this masterpiece... I'm a 1988 year cat btw!
Happy 61st Birthday November 2, 1959 Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath. Texas born, Texas raised and one kick ass performer ! Cheers Rev .....
Lots of other “kick ass” performs that were born in Texas. Most are resting In Peace but won’t be forgotten…
@@KS-vs7ht hell yes, Amen.
Literally the last thing I expected to see on kexp, takes me right back to the days of guitar hero 2!
Should have seen it live back in the 90's!

Long life to reverend Horton

That's one hell of a line up!
Saw them MANY times like at least 40 times but the best ever was Fremont Street Las Vegas 1994. That shit was surreal!
Gonna see them play in San Antonio this month!!!!
Love the psychotic laugh!
It gives me shivers every time.
I absolutely adore this band. Every time they come around my way, I'm there.
After playing this time and time again, so cool to see this live in the last decade !
missed the show in Reading PA never again
That rhythm section can really bring it, I tell you what.
I myself went to see Reverend Horton Heat about three years ago at the historic Ashland Armory here in my current hometown of Ashland, Oregon USA! I loved it as it was so much fun.
Esa guitarra es una brillante espada.El Reverendo Horton Heat es un magnífico francotirador del más virulento psych-rockabilly.Rockanroll speed King.
The drums will never get old and so fun to play along with this track
I just love Rockabilly music. God damn
Cripes !!! The best guitarist I never heard of before.. These guys are AMAZING !! Don't know what took me so long to find them..
Are you familiar with Junior Brown?
HE SUCKS......
The sound of that Gretsch! Amazing.
Thankfully, KEXP has an excellent sound team. Awesome performance and recording.
Showing my age but every Rev show I saw was great ...back when deep ellum was still a thing
Greatest. Band. Ever.
Awesome guys. Got to spend some time with J-I-M-B-O after a concert in Fargo, ND. Nicest guy ever. They put on a great show.
I appreciate some more now at age 40. But I used to watch him open up for everybody to Nirvana To white zombie when I was a kid . Must have saw them live eleven times. Wish I could see those shows again ❤❤ Keep rockin reverend 🤘💀🤘

The Reverend can thank Beavis and Butthead for reviewing this song and original video! :)
Beavis and Butthead can thank the Reverend for this beauty

Reverend Horton one of my favorites along with Brian Setzer.
Give Stevie Ray Vaughn and double trouble a chance.
Hard pressed to pick a fav but this is one of them

Anyone else notice @ 1:52 the riff to Ace of Spades?
They did a cover of Ace of Spades at last night's show
even earlier in the song but absolutely, we saw them play last night.
I always hear The Meteors guitar from Rawhide in there too.
Great track, the entire band are on point (even a drum roll on the double bass drums at the end) noice
That's what I'm hearing the whole song.
Amen
AWESOME!!! REV FOREVER !!!
Did I just hear a hint of metal mixed into the chaos of
Love and delight?
I have this on CD ...before the crash of deep ellum
Saw him live years ago and yeah Jim is a phenomenal guitar player but i remember thinking how tight his band is
I wonder if these guys ever toured with Drive By Truckers. That would be a glorious psychobilly/southern freakout. Toss in SCOTS too.
I want a Reverand Horton Heat, The Living End and Stray Cats tour.
My oatmeal pie is under your boot.😂
6120 and a standup bass. Don’t get much better. It’s it’s a psycobilly freak out. I just can’t figure out the words.
*UNDERRATED*
Great job.
I watched him debut Blue Sky at some open mic night in 1990.
Tri !!!
Más que una leyenda.Biggest crusher.
This is very good. Seems a lot like "Ace of Spades" to me. Booth are very good, with similar energy. Does anyone agree? Do we have an explanation?
Good old 50s inspired 🤘
UK TOUR 2020 !!!!
It’s a psychobilly freak out! Yeah yeah! Everybody pull down your pants!!!
3:07 the best of the battery
I smell Motor Head's Ace of Spades.
He does a great cover! And a couple of collabs with Lemmy (RIP 😢)
Look for it. 🤯
Didn't know James Hetfield sang psychobilly freakout
+Rav Fontanilla
Someone needs to suggest that to him lol, as that would be awesome.
Rav Fontanilla It looks like James' dad or maybe James in another 15-20 years
James is over 50 years old. If that was his dad those would be some magical genes.
James Hetfield is not on this fellas level my friend
Ezactly!!!!
Cant wait to see them and the Koffin Kats play together in April!!!!!
Impeccable technique hot daaamn
Indeed
Yeah mann !! Acid.. Speed...
Brilliant!!
Amazing song!
