    I’m on my second Beta 300re. I’m on a 2023. I like the carb feel. After riding a 2021 KTM300xcw yes these are not 2024’s.. To me the KTM was so smooth that it actually lacked feel and personality. The Beta is a blend of old school two stroke feel and new crisp, push start clean performance. The simplicity is indeed a great thing about Beta. I really like the Beta machines.

    • @Weekendwarriorsmoto
      @Weekendwarriorsmoto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, the same is true for me. I loved my 22 300 xcw but it was night and day versus the 24 beta. KTM closed some of the gap on responsiveness with the tbi but the carb on the beta still feels a bit better. The tbi is a great choice for riders that change elevations often and don’t want to mess with jetting.

      These new bikes are all so close that you can shop for best price and get a great bike. If you’re riding single track, for the Beta, either go with the rr or plan on revalving the suspension. The 24 forks on the husky and KTM are great as is for single track.

    I had a sherco that I kept fouling plugs on. Lugging is all good and well until it isn't.. You either have to clear that thing out here and there, jet it a touch leaner, or change your fuel mixture. In my humble experience, *bikes* don't foul plugs, set up does.

    Im at exactly 20 hours on my 24 300 Race as well….I absolutely love it. No issues yet but can definitely agree that the plastics are weak, cracked my front fender smacking a tree in a hare scramble. Luckily I was able to get a new fender but it took 5 weeks to come in.

    Current model year decals and plastics availability can't be correlated with parts availability in general. Beta parts availability in general is phenomenal in the US. Parts can be ordered directly from Beta USA website. Availability is shown on the website. You'll be hard pressed to find parts that aren't stocked (other than current year plastics and decals). Beta USA has two warehouses; east coast and west coast. I literally get parts the next day at my door. Plastics and decals for previous year models are available. Beta has historically waited to release current year plastics and graphics, my assumption is its to encourage you to buy a new bike and not update your old one to look new.

    • @Weekendwarriorsmoto
      @Weekendwarriorsmoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve put a lot of parts on this bike which, for the most part, beta requires me to purchase from them. For example, BPD protection parts, cycra handguards, etc. As I bought them, in most cases, I couldn’t get colors or styles that I wanted. If Beta has 2 warehouses then why has every single order shipped to me in Pennsylvania from Utah. 6 business days to deliver. There has been more parts availability and fit issues that I’ve also experienced with this bike. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Beta but there’s no comparison to parts availability with the KTM brands. Thanks for watching!

    • @csmith7693
      @csmith7693 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Weekendwarriorsmoto Beta has two warehouses, rest assured. The east coast is not as stocked as the west coast. I'm in Alabama and have had six Beta's since 2020. I go heavy on the parts both aftermarket and OEM. Have KTM's too. I'm completely unbiased. My experience has been its been harder to get KTM oem parts since Covid than it is to get Beta parts. Aftermarket availability is a completely different topic.
      With my 2024 300, I put 2023 plastics and graphics on it and stored the '24 plastics. For me the blue is hideous anyway.

      I haven’t ridden the RR but what I can tell you is that most of my friends who have ridden my RE comment that the suspension feels stiff. I feel that the RE is great in the faster flow trails. When it is rocky or choppy on the trails, the suspension feels stiff. I’m having the forks and shock revalved next week and will post some comparisons when I get the suspension back. With all of that said, I love the bike in the trails and it feels right at home when you dial up the speed. Has great balance, feels light and turns quickly on the trails. Thanks for watching!

    • @Weekendwarriorsmoto

      The race edition is a cross country bike so for more fast paced riding. The XCW is much softer for more technical terrain. The nice thing about the KYB suspension on the beta is that there are a lot of good suspension tuners that can make it perform the way you’d like. Thanks for watching!

    I feel like when purchasing a 2 stroke, you accept the responsibility that the plugs are going to foul, not if, but when, it will happen, especially in slower technical. I carry 1-2 extra plugs and a wrench in my pack when I’m out and about doing slow stuff. 2 strokes foul them, it is what it is, but I love your opinion on this bike, I’ve been looking hard at it, but I hit the dunes every once in a while, I worry about its performance in the sand being more of a trail bike

    • @Weekendwarriorsmoto
      @Weekendwarriorsmoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may be right. When I was younger and had the older 2 strokes, I just carried extra plugs. Now, I’m a little spoiled having had a KTM tpi and never even removed the plug. It’s not a deal breaker for the beta but it was unexpected and untimely. I’m better prepared now. Sad to say that I’ve never ridden in sand 🙁. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Good feedback. I have my eye on one of these, riding a carbed orange bike now. I want new, but not injected. These betas look promising.
    I think your jetting is a slightly off. Saying youve only touched the main jet just adds to that suspicion. Even more since based on this video - you never got on the main jet.
    Anyway- thanks for the review. Happy riding!

    • @Weekendwarriorsmoto
      @Weekendwarriorsmoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’ll like the beta if you are going for something different and you’ll appreciate the low end grunt and handling. I think you’re right on the jetting. It’s set exactly as the manual says but at the same time, the air screw is 1.25 out per the manual for 40-80 degrees at my elevation. Needle is 2nd position for the same temps per the manual. That’s why it may have loaded up.

      I owned, four betas over the last twenty five years, I love them.This is my first enduro bike, though. All others were trials. My enduro bikes have always been k t m's since the early eighties. I'm not really keen on buying a new motorcycle and having to replace the head I've had an issue with my 250. I had the dealer, put oil injection on it. And the cap it's not allowing airflow, so I get a suction and my oil in the oil line sucks back up into the tank. So every time I go to ride it, I have to prime it, and during my ride, I have to undo the cap to let the suction out. Needless to say, I've not ridden that much since I've owned the motorcycle in 3 months. I'm on my 3rd cap and waiting on a new shipment I'm not real happy about that.I might have to go back to k t m's never had a problem with them. By the way, I had oil injection put on it so I could ride it on the street and not have to worry about premix.

      That’s disappointing. The people that have Beta’s seem to love them and are passionate about the brand. I’m not brand loyal. I like the bike but do expect the quality to be on par with other manufacturers. The head change for me was an upgrade and not a necessity. The stock head was fine and would have benefited from leaner jetting than beta recommends in the manual.

    • @motorcycleguy73
      @motorcycleguy73 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I agree with you. I love the Beta like I said I've had the trials bikes for over 25 years. They've been excellent and so is my 250, but it's really annoying to have a simple problem like a oil cap. Hold me up from riding a $10000 motorcycle plus it's summer now in Arizona. And I won't be doing much riding anyway, so I missed most of my riding time with an oil cap problem.I didn't want to risk it.And end up seizing my engine.
