  • Short circuit impedance is an important parameter of transformers. Short circuit impedance method is a traditional method to judge the winding deformation based on GB1094.5-2008 and IEC60076-5:2006‎. The variation of short circuit reactance is the only criterion to judge whether the transformer windings are deformed or not. Measuring the winding parameters of transformers is an efficient means of testing the manufacturing process level of a transformer and judging whether the transport process has adverse effects on the transformer windings or not.
    The short circuit impedance test is the most direct method to identify the impact of short circuit current on the transformer in operation or to check whether the windings are deformed or not after the transformer is struck by mechanical force during transportation and installation. It is of great significance to judge whether the transformer can be put into operation and one of the bases to judge whether it is required for the transformer to be subject to strip inspection.
    Transformer short circuit impedance tester is suitable for power transformers (single-phase or three-phase) in delivery, overhaul, pre-test and load impedance testing during the commissioning test. For the basic items among the normal test items, the principle is to carry out a short circuit impedance (%) test on a power transformer at site and compare it with the nameplate value or the factory value so that defects caused by major fault current during transportation, installation and operation after the ex-factory test, such as winding displacement and deformation, can be identified.
    Transformer short circuit impedance tester, researched and developed independently by the Company, is used to measure the short circuit impedance for main transformers of Level 35KV and above under site and laboratory conditions. The tester is exquisitely designed with superior performance. The state-of-the-art single-chip microcomputer testing technology and digital signal processing technology have been adopted for its internal design, and the data measured by it are accurate; while a 7-inch touch color LCD screen has been used for its external design, displaying the operation menu in Chinese with more convenient touch operation. Meanwhile, it is equipped with a thermal printer and has the function of storage, which is convenient for data printing and storage. Thus, the data to be exported can be transferred to the computer via USB. Moreover, the tester is small in volume and easy to use and carry at site. Single-phase and three-phase tests can be conducted after inputting parameters into the tester and the percentage error of the transformer impedance will be calculated automatically with intuitive test results. It is an instrument to rapidly test whether the transformer windings are deformed or not at site.
