I saw this listed on a link last Thursday. For $40.00 took a chance. Got it THE NEXT DAY! Opened it up and 3 minutes after I did I ordered another one and got it this past Sunday. I also have a Target card so I got free shipping and 5% off so I actually paid $38.00 for this shipped to my home! BAM! After getting this I cancelled my McFarlane one. Not saying this is just as good. It isn't. But the McFarlane one isn't $210.00 better. I'm a real good customizer, so I know I can get a 7" figure in it and create a cockpit. The giant Buzzyear XL-1 comes to mine (which is now on clearance for $19.99 btw.). This thing is SUCH a deal. Like you said I was getting the McFarlane $39.99 statue to go with my Hot Toys 1/6 Batmobile, but there no need. I'll use this free figure. give it a better cape for $3.00 from material from a fabric store. So this $38.00 set replaced a $250.00 batwing and a $40.00 statue. Also, since I have a 2nd one, I might take the wings of one, flip them upside down, and with a little custom work make a solid wing. This thing is a customizers dream!
Dude I had that exact same thought with using a extra set of wings to add to the bottom ! I was considering customizing some seats myself as well thinking of having my friend design and 3D print a proper cockpit and seats. I’m right with you on this 12inch Keaton replacing the statue! I just didn’t dig the pose they put him in. Maybe if it was a more of a posted on a gargoyle/edge of a building with his cape blowing in the wind I woulda kept my pre order on it. Also your vid comparing what you get for your money was both informative and balanced. A good customizer (which I am) can spend 20 bucks and a bit of time and make this look as good. I tend to go to the thrift store and look for old cars, and planes and use them for parts. A lot of those Barbie cars etc. have good seats to use for customizing.

It says "On line Only" so it might not make it to stores because of it being cheap and taking up a lot of shelf space. But I don't think Target or Spin Master saw the popularity and potential of this being a McFarlane alternative.

Can you show what it looks like after you customize it? Besides the reference picture supplied by McFarlane that cardboard cut out is the best size example I have seen on youtube.

got the spinmaster version myself and for 40bucks I have no complaints except, "where am i going to put this beast of a toy." also did a very minor modification (with duct tape) to allow my 6 inch figures (2) to be able to sit inside with the canopy closed.

I bought both versions. I had a $50 Target gift card from Christmas so that paid for the Spin Master version. I found a 10% discount code for the McFarlane version so paid a total of $260 including tax and shipping. I used PayPal credit, so will pay $43 per month over 6 months interest free. That was too easy.
Yup I’m thinking about modifying this spin master one but for sure adding LED lights to the McFarlane one once I get it. Might do at least some weathering to the spin masters I’m actually gonna be giving it away on my channel once I get my McFarlane one reason I’m probably not gonna do heavy mods
Maybe it had to do with DC telling spinmaster they can’t cause McFarlane is making his already so spinmaster made the smaller version with seats instead

I got the 12 inch Spinmaster Batman, and after some adjustments here and there, I am satisfied with it over having the McFarlane statue, which is kinda small from what I have seen. Just a replacement cape makes this 12 inch figure much nicer! Like your video! Very informative!
I was initially going to get the mcfarlane statue but canceled my pre order once I saw the 12 inch spin master figure. Once I got it in person I know I made the right choice ! Crazy you can get a 12 inch figure and a 30 in batwing for $40 !! Thanks for watching !
For sure it only weighs 2lbs 10 oz someone commented they are going to be using 6lb strength Velcro strips. Im personally gonna install either a hook or like guitar mount and use the main landing gear wheel to hang it from
On the video I said my idea would be to get some type of hook mount and use the front landing gear to hang it from. I can weigh the batwing here in a bit I’ll let you know, it doesn’t weigh much at all maybe a few pounds
Those 12” Marvel/DC/Star Wars toy lines looks great if they are kept in their box. Outside the box, they are kids 4-7 years old toys. Zero articulation, and no small parts to choke on.
I have a few from each of those lines. What surprised me is the DC ones like this Keaton figure are actually articulated. I have a pretty cool joker one that has the same articulation as this Keaton one

I usually buy them for my nephews simply because he’s still young but loves comic related character like my brother and I. But since he’s still young we don’t feel like spending $20-40 on a detail articulated toy because he’s just going to destroy it, so these 12” lines are great as a gift.
Man I got it today !! I bought it last week and It came 3 days late and I was dying because I though it got lost in the mail!! The target box was humongous and when I've opened I was surprised with the leght of this thing. Super happy !! It looks pretty sick and even better it has the 12" Batman (Keaton) SO SICK MAN !!

I agree with everything that you said, in fact I have both of the Spin Master Batwings. Thinking about using the seat out of the smaller Spin Master Batwing and out of another to put in the larger one. And get some black poster board to cover the open part of the wings on the bottom. Maybe spray the whole thing top and bottom except for the first 5 or so inches on the Canopy
Is Spin Master going to release a Batmobile as well? Because if it's as good as their Bat Wing and looks good next to a 6/7 inch scale Batman figure, not to mention the price, I might skip the McFarlane one all together for a SM
I believe right now they have a smaller scale RC Batmobile that comes with a batcave base. Has lights and sounds and the engine even smokes water vapor. Haven’t heard of them doing a big Batmobile yet but they did make a big Robert Pattinson Batmobile I believe so might happen
I have a feeling that if McFarlane would have made a $60 version of the batwing it would basically look like this...but with the cockpit able to close... The 7" figure would look like he was in a toboggan sled though... Just rather wait for my huge Batwing to come in... lol 💪💀

At the end of the day, the $250 price tag boils down to it being move in ready for 6 inch 7 inch figures... This Spin Master $40 dollar Batwing is awesome, but it's not what the doctor ordered, if you are looking at using it with your figures. Even after customizing it to fit figures, it' s still out of scale with 6 inch to 7 inch figures. It's really tempting to pick up this $40 dollar toy! I just don't want it to end up in the junk pile after a few weeks. I have no need for the 12 inch figure it comes with and that giant canopy is triggering my ocd...
That’s exactly why I still kept my pre order for the McFarlane version. I do occasionally customize collectibles (I’m customizing the Batmobile as we speak) but I felt even if I did customize this SM Batwing I wouldn’t be satisfied knowing the McF one is bigger and can fit the Keaton figure off the bat, plus comes with a amazing looking wall mount to boot. I’ll be giving this SM Batwing away to a subscriber after I do my legit comparison between the two when my McF BW gets here this up coming week. Yea I’m still getting the McFarlane one for a couple reasons. For the base it comes with to hang the batwing on your wall. A proper cockpit that fits 7 inch figures. And just to support McFarlane. I’m actually gonna be doing a giveaway of this Spinmaster’s batwing once my McFarlane gets here in April
What a lot of people don't know is that this Keaton batsuit was the one he was supposed to use for the 3rd Keaton batman movie. It was also supposed to be "darker" more serious than the previous two. But it wasn't made because tim Burton wasn't going to be on the 3rd movie and the other director (forgot his name) but he wanted it to be more comic book funny hence the other movies that were more comical. So when the batman with Christian bale was in the works, Nolan took the suit Keaton was supposed to wear for the 3rd movie and had it made for Christian bale.
Interesting I did not know that. That would explain why Bales first suit was so loved by everyone because it all black but more classic looking at the same time and no yellow bat symbol.
Today I was looking at a 50cm diameter flower pot for £6.50. Quality plastic. Whether its shaped like a flower pot, a batwing, or an Optimus, it's all plastic, and it's what you're willing to pay for it as an individual. I can get 5 square pots with trays for £20. Good value quality pot

You could add micro lights to it too, hang it on the wall, sweet as f

This is a massive part of collecting. The anticipation. Making anticipation last is free. You could hold out on a figure for years. Wait for the right one or the right price. But not always. Grabing an item quick or on a bargain are immense feelings too.
Most of my Star Wars black series figures comes from either clearance or Mercari/EBay for under retail. Don’t remember the last time I paid for price for a Star Wars figure 🤣

I don’t have any other Batman figures from other brands only McFarlane, I don’t own mafex or mezco. The whole point of the video was to compare it to McFarlane batwing size. You can see at the end of the video the cock pit does not close all the way when there’s a 7” Batman figure sitting up correctly, so you must be laying down your 7” figures for it to close. 6” or 5” figures might fit but I wouldn’t know. Batman doesn’t fly his batwing laying down in the cockpit, he flies it sitting up right. Also I’m not going to customize this batwing I’m going to give it away for free on my channel. I ordered the McFarlane batwing so my 7” Keaton Batman can actually fit inside.

Balsawood might be easier to work with and shape and once you coat it it becomes hard as a rock.

yea i made a full 3d print kit for it,, light attachments and working on a andrino sound and remote set up.

On both bat wings they are removable. It’s a little harder to remove the McFarlane batwing wings

Those 12” Marvel/DC/Star Wars toy lines looks great if they are kept in their box. Outside the box, they are kids 4-7 years old toys. Zero articulation, and no small parts to choke on.
I have a few from each of those lines. What surprised me is the DC ones like this Keaton figure are actually articulated. I have a pretty cool joker one that has the same articulation as this Keaton one
@@Collect2Disconnect Really? That’s pretty awesome. Like they do have a nice aesthetic to them. I usually buy them for my nephews simply because he’s still young but loves comic related character like my brother and I. But since he’s still young we don’t feel like spending $20-40 on a detail articulated toy because he’s just going to destroy it, so these 12” lines are great as a gift.
Man I got it today !! I bought it last week and It came 3 days late and I was dying because I though it got lost in the mail!! The target box was humongous and when I've opened I was surprised with the leght of this thing. Super happy !! It looks pretty sick and even better it has the 12" Batman (Keaton) SO SICK MAN !!

I agree with everything that you said, in fact I have both of the Spin Master Batwings. Thinking about using the seat out of the smaller Spin Master Batwing and out of another to put in the larger one. And get some black poster board to cover the open part of the wings on the bottom. Maybe spray the whole thing top and bottom except for the first 5 or so inches on the Canopy
Is Spin Master going to release a Batmobile as well? Because if it's as good as their Bat Wing and looks good next to a 6/7 inch scale Batman figure, not to mention the price, I might skip the McFarlane one all together for a SM
I believe right now they have a smaller scale RC Batmobile that comes with a batcave base. Has lights and sounds and the engine even smokes water vapor. Haven’t heard of them doing a big Batmobile yet but they did make a big Robert Pattinson Batmobile I believe so might happen
They will be releasing a non-RC Batmobile. Can’t wait.
I have a feeling that if McFarlane would have made a $60 version of the batwing it would basically look like this...but with the cockpit able to close... The 7" figure would look like he was in a toboggan sled though... Just rather wait for my huge Batwing to come in... lol 💪💀

At the end of the day, the $250 price tag boils down to it being move in ready for 6 inch 7 inch figures... This Spin Master $40 dollar Batwing is awesome, but it's not what the doctor ordered, if you are looking at using it with your figures. Even after customizing it to fit figures, it' s still out of scale with 6 inch to 7 inch figures. It's really tempting to pick up this $40 dollar toy! I just don't want it to end up in the junk pile after a few weeks. I have no need for the 12 inch figure it comes with and that giant canopy is triggering my ocd...
That’s exactly why I still kept my pre order for the McFarlane version. I do occasionally customize collectibles (I’m customizing the Batmobile as we speak) but I felt even if I did customize this SM Batwing I wouldn’t be satisfied knowing the McF one is bigger and can fit the Keaton figure off the bat, plus comes with a amazing looking wall mount to boot.
I’ll be giving this SM Batwing away to a subscriber after I do my legit comparison between the two when my McF BW gets here this up coming week.
Also I feel you on that giant canopy really hated how the entire thing was see through wanted to paint the back half black instantly haha

Yea I’m still getting the McFarlane one for a couple reasons. For the base it comes with to hang the batwing on your wall. A proper cockpit that fits 7 inch figures. And just to support McFarlane. I’m actually gonna be doing a giveaway of this Spinmaster’s batwing once my McFarlane gets here in April

I'm modding mine with a 1984 GI JOE Cobra ASP Cockpit seat I found on Ebay, To use with a 4 inch figure.
I’ve seen some amazing mods done with this. Definitely made for smaller scale figures 👌🏽
What a lot of people don't know is that this Keaton batsuit was the one he was supposed to use for the 3rd Keaton batman movie. It was also supposed to be "darker" more serious than the previous two. But it wasn't made because tim Burton wasn't going to be on the 3rd movie and the other director (forgot his name) but he wanted it to be more comic book funny hence the other movies that were more comical. So when the batman with Christian bale was in the works, Nolan took the suit Keaton was supposed to wear for the 3rd movie and had it made for Christian bale.
Interesting I did not know that. That would explain why Bales first suit was so loved by everyone because it all black but more classic looking at the same time and no yellow bat symbol.
Today I was looking at a 50cm diameter flower pot for £6.50. Quality plastic. Whether its shaped like a flower pot, a batwing, or an Optimus, it's all plastic, and it's what you're willing to pay for it as an individual. I can get 5 square pots with trays for £20. Good value quality pot

@@Collect2Disconnect you could stick legs on the batwing and make it a bedside table after reinforcing it, or build a table base such that all you have to do is place the batwing on top and it becomes the table top, completely reinforced by the base. You could add micro lights to it too, hang it on the wall, sweet as f

This is a massive part of collecting. The anticipation. Making anticipation last is free. You could hold out on a figure for years. Wait for the right one or the right price. But not always. Grabing an item quick or on a bargain are immense feelings too.

I don’t have any other Batman figures from other brands only McFarlane, I don’t own mafex or mezco. The whole point of the video was to compare it to McFarlane batwing size.
You can see at the end of the video the cock pit does not close all the way when there’s a 7” Batman figure sitting up correctly, so you must be laying down your 7” figures for it to close. 6” or 5” figures might fit but I wouldn’t know. Batman doesn’t fly his batwing laying down in the cockpit, he flies it sitting up right. Also I’m not going to customize this batwing I’m going to give it away for free on my channel. I ordered the McFarlane batwing so my 7” Keaton Batman can actually fit inside.
