LORD JAMAR EVEN THOUGH WE (TRENTON NJ) IS CLOSE TO PHILLY WE STILL HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF GETTING WBLS WITH MR MAGIC AND MARLEY MARL 98.7 KISS FM DJ RED ALERT AND WHBI WITH AWESOME TWO. WE GOT IT THE SAME TIME NY GOT IT‼ IM 50 YEARS OLD. WE GOT THE SAME STATIONS PLUS WE GOT LADY B POWER 99, AND WDAS IN PHILLY. WE GOT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Interesting comments to a 51 year old from the woods of North Florida who was exposed to the East Coast style of Hip Hop while serving in the US Navy on the west Coast.
💯 I'm from Trenton and I grew up listening to WBLS and Kiss, and I remember when Hot 97 changed to Hip-Hop format. I got my news from CBS2, NBC4, and 7ABC just like I got my news from CBS3, 6ABC, and NBC10. I also remember watching Video Music Box. We're just as far from Manhattan as cats from Long Island. Trenton ain't next Philly, it's in between NYC and Philly.
If you had a JVC radio or 2020 you were able to get HBI 98.7 KISS and BLS you were also able to pick up the radio stations in Philadelphia such as power 99 and all of that also we had rare tapes as well
PRT was hella unique! Shiiit Naughty By Nature, Redman, Lords of the Underground, Double X Posse, The Outlawz, etc all put it down for NJ, but before all them cats was the PRT!! Can’t forget Queen Latifah too! New Jersey had a movement goin fasho.
I'm from Trenton we use to get 98.7 kiss wit red alert and chuck chill out Wbls with Super rocking Mr.Magic! The movie Wildstyle Beatstreet! In the 80's! Coldcrush and the Fantastic freaks! We got alot of those stations playing Hip-Hop late night!

I always wondered why he put, 'Wise Intelligent is the Talented Timothy Taylor' on his album cover, because although his first name is Timothy, his last name is not 'Taylor'. Do you know the significance?
@@littleoldal Oh yeah I didn't even think of his 'The Unconkable Djezuz Djonez' album. He also has albums where he called himself, 'Steve Bonneville Wallace' and 'El Negro Guerrero' the on covers. Thanks.

Don't play the corporate block jawn show the paid comments. This like corporate MTV, no?
How is it that so many of these spitters cant seem to find words when it comes to doing interviews? This is frustrating to watch.
