You are an excellent teacher with a lovely soothing voice. I'm SO inspired I'm going to have a One Stroke Painting party and show my friends your videos. I want to decorate the walls of my room with a Paradise garden scene and wanted to teach myself how to paint flowers etc. So you've helped enormously. Thank you!
This was a very nice video. Sometimes we overwork or over think our projects. These poinsettia's are perfect for gretting cards. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
You make it look so easy, that the brush follows you, that the doll turns you taste the degree you need, that the color palette accompanies you ... you know that is called magic..and you create beauty
Thank you April! I have been watching all your videos and practice everyday. You have inspired me to pick up the paint brush after many years. Your work is simply beautiful :)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. April, your an inspiration to all who are watching your video's. Keep up the good work, I hope you make more video's........🖌🎨
Terrific lesson on Poinsettia April. Love these refresher courses as I'm teaching my own classes. Thank you for the clarity and simplicity of technique. Teri
April thank you, I love how you do the pointsettia petals, very realistic - and I have trouble with the smaller petals getting lost, I like how you keep the white to the outside. Beautiful work, looking forward to trying this!
Dear April, a big hello from Germany ❤ 🙋- your drawing is awesome 😍 and I love this flower in the winter season too. I am working with watercolor ~ but there I can't draw these wonderful effects like you with acrylics. (especially the green leafs - it's so great 😍) Could you help me with watercolor tips too, or works you only in acrylics? (I can't buy any of these for my home, because I have cats 😊 - and these flowers are very poison... 😰. But I love them and it's so nice when they are blowing in the shops everywhere now 😉...)
I'm learning one stroke from your video but I keep getting brush lines/streaks when I practice on paper. Could you let me know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
Thank you so much, I have watched some of your videos and I really enjoy them. Could you be kind enough to tell which brand of brushes you use or prefer. Can any flat brush be used or it has to be one stoke brush. I am a beginner. Thank you so much.
You can go to Amazon.com or Plaidonline.com for the brushes. FolkArt Premium Acrylic Brushes- comes in a pack of 10 brushes. Thank you for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Plaid has brushes on Amazon. Plaid 10 brush set about $5 or Plaid 10 one stroke brushes about $16. They both work equally the same. Thank you for watching.

@@sheebakv8193 The company's name is Plaid. Their website is Plaidonline.com. The acrylic paints are FolkArt Premium Acrylic paints and the brushes you can use are FolkArt Premium Acrylic paint brushes. Most of the brushes in the pack are flats. They have separate packages with other brushes with angles, filberts, rounds, ... and all these you can order from Amazon as well. Good luck!
Actually the red petals are leaves. The 'flower' on a poinsettia is the little yellow thing in the center. tropical plants often have red leaves to protect them from excess sun.
I'm in California. For the rose video, find painting a rose using an angle brush. I also have another one painted slightly differently. I hope to do more videos. I teach a lot of classes so it's finding the time. Thank you for watching. My website is AprilNDesigns.com,
Hi April, Not sure if you encounter this problem but sometimes my paint is dry and not buttery. What should I use to make the consistency better?Should I use water or a medium to make the paint buttery?
+Sing Gal You want to use Floating Medium. That's whats going to help the paint glide on your surface. Don't use water, that will cause the paints to mix together. Good luck. Let me know how you do.
I think i have wrong paint? because when i try to do a leaf the paint always end in the half way and sorry my english its not so good! :D just asking what kinda acrylic paint you use? i have pebeo named aclyric paints but its not so thick paint.. so that the reason why it always end in the prush in half way? or it is because i dont use that medium think that helps it glide better?
+Craderiann Hello. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you're using the wrong acrylic paints. You want to use the ones you find at Michael's, JoAnn's, or Hobby Lobby. I'm using FolkArt Acrylic paints. Thanks for watching.
+Sarah Y I'm using the Floating Medium. This allows the paint to glide on surfaces that are porous. Since I'm painting on paper and the paint is thick and creamy, I needed something other than water to make the paint flow. If water is used, it will muddy the colors. Thanks for watching. I hope you give it a try.
