Hi Sarah! Your Goldwing is lovely and what a great colour. I can't believe that was your first colour work sweater. I would never have guessed. Best wishes from a Canadian knitting podcaster!
Hello! Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. And welcome. I really enjoy colourwork and am sad that this particular yarn has been discontinued but grateful I have enough for another couple of sweaters. I've just subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching. Also very jealous that you're going into winter. Happy knitting!
We almost have sweaters out in the morning where I live and winter is over 6 months of the year here. I'm quite far in the north so it works out well for sweater weather!
So good to catch up with you and seeing you look so happy 😊 We're basking in a heatwave 29C here in the UK and I've been sitting watching you with my feet in a bowl of cold water. Bliss!!! I don't know how you cope with the heat in Australia. Our granddaughter has come over from Sydney for a year and is staying with us and our son and the rest of the family are coming over in Oct/Nov so they will have a double wammy of winter!! I'm just off to watch a Scrapplique TH-cam as I loved the look of your cushion cover. Take good care. xx
Yes I hear it's been really hard this summer. I'm quite concerned for us here. We seem to do one year bush fire, one year flood. I just hope it's a safe one for all. You do kind of acclimatise but there are a couple of weeks here in February where it's high 30's and 90-100% humidity which is just awful. I do also wish the winters were a bit longer but that's just me as a selfish knitter ha ha ha. Lovely to see you again and thanks so much for being here x
Mark says hi! Oh yes! I feel the got enough BWM yarn moment. I've ended up overdying the last of the 4ply mustard I had. 🤣 That jumper looks amazing, the marine and misty look great together. I keep eyeing that purple off on your website. It's beautiful. I struggle with plant based fibre too. I like the final product but learning I am just not a fan of knitting with it. It's not for everyone I guess. Oh the cushion cover is bright! Love the octopus panel in it. Lol, on the vintage patterns. I substituted yarn for books myself. 🤣 Thanks for the podcast.
Oooh what did you overdye the mustard colour with. I'd love to see it! Yeah I haven't actually tried knitting with it because I don't really like how it looks or behaves. Maybe if I do fingering weight it might be different. Never say never right? The octopus is one of my favourites too! Ha I'm not the only one. I just love all things vintage and op shopping. I'm spending an extra few days in Melbourne just to op shop 😂
@@TheMakersCorner I just got to the cardigon line... bhaahahaha. Love it. I used food dye and citric acid. I don't want to be using acid dyes in the house with the kids and cats so it's the only real option. Mainly blue with a little red. It ended up a really nice dark green. My little girl loves green so planning on making something for her with it. I show it on my recent podcast but it's really hard to show on the camera. I got 4x 300g cotton linen cones before I realised I wasn't a huge fan... 🤣 changed my plans and will be making a summer blanket for our bed with it. I don't hate the knitting, I just prefer wools and silk atm. Might try another plant eventually, or try mixing into my spinning with wool to get the properties without it being 100% of the experience.
@@RAHowes Ooooh what a great idea re the dye. I'll have 100g of it or so if I ever finish the bloody cowl ha ha ha It's not a colour I would wear so overdyeing is a great idea!
Bust darts is definitely an option. It totally depends on the kind of sweater. For example, on my raglan I increased stitches over a couple of rows at the front right at the bust apex and then decreased them out straigh afterwards to get back to the original body stitch count. With a colourwork yoked sweater, I move the armholes back when I split for sleeves which gives more room at the front. I highly recommend The Woolly Badger's class, 'knits that fit your tits'. It was really helpful for me and learned a lot!
Hurrah for bees! Your bag and that print are both so beautiful! And your accidental dye is absolutely gorgeous 💜💜💜
Hello! Thanks, I love it so much. Wish they did wholesale so I could have them in the shop too.

@@mywonderfulknittinglife Oh wow! that sounds amazing. We have a tiny window for sweater weather. About 8 weeks really. I wish it was longer
That is not long! You might need to wear two at a time in those 8 weeks!
@@mywonderfulknittinglife I know! We've had a bit of a cool down the last few days so I'm casting on another DK sweater (short sleeve) 😂

How do you accommodate your fit for a larger bust on a small frame? Bust darts?
