Thank you and Happy New Year! I have been following you and the Flylady for years now. Towards the end of the year, I always need a little boot in the bahookie! 🤣
My goal is actually to do LESS next year. I need to listen to my physical limitations more; pace myself and add self care, rather than making my to do lists too long. (I run our home and my mum's as I'm her carer, and have burnt myself out - physically and mentally - the past nearly 3years).
Hi Diane! I hope your Christmas was great! I am planning on doing the system whole heartedly and not being warm and cold about it. I have been following the flylady system off and on for just about 8 years and, wow, watching you for that long too 🤭(I didn't realize). I am good about it and then circumstances/life happens and I stop. This coming year, no! It will be part of my simplifying and thriving! I am also adding daily self care. Thank you for this video!
I really need to focus on meal planning, it got totally forgotten in 2024. It was a bad year for me with family issues and grief. But enough is enough 😂. I just caused myself stress xx
Diane, I have followed you for years, and I did watch this video when it was first released on the Get Organized Summit. At that time, I did think it was inspired and helpful! But now, at the New Year, I'm receiving it as the inspirational teaching that it is. I've been offered a part-time dream job in my retirement that I'd like to accept, but I know I've gotten so lackadaisical with my time that I was afraid to accept the position. So, watching this video this time, and TAKING NOTES, has empowered me to go forward without fear. I missed so much by not taking notes before (a start time and end time for the morning and evening routines? Brilliant!!! How have I missed that previously? 🤦🏻♀️) I am so excited now!!! Thank you and God bless you and your 2025!!!!
I have been enormously inspired by your closet decluttering as you prepare to downsize your home. I had a goal of decluttering 3 pairs of jeans and I got rid of at least a dozen. Instead of asking myself what I don't wear anymore, I got very specific about only keeping one pair of slim jeans to wear inside tall boots, no inseams less than 29", no low- or mid-rise waists, no skinny jeans or slims with knees that are too tight, and no uncomfortable heavy weight denim. No denim that is too light weight, light washed ( I prefer the T-3 dark washes) or baggy. Boot cut jeans are on probation to check if there is enough room around the knees. My 1981 Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans are finally going due to heavy weight, low-rise, and lack of stretch in the fabric. Someone else can get a kick out of wearing authentic vintage. I allowed myself a range of three sizes to accommodate my seasonal weight changes. What I am left with is a selection of jeans that fits my current style, flattering and comfortable fit, goes with my other wardrobe pieces and is enough for two weeks wear and can make up a full load of laundry (I wash denim and darks together). The hardest choices to make were the personal style questions. DYT helped, you helped and some other capsule wardrobe and style TH-camrs helped a lot. And you helped me accept the idea of permission to only keep the items that help me look and feel my best. 😢And it took me awhile to realize that skinny jeans, slim leg jeans, any kind of tapered leg pants and any kind of ankle pants or Capri pants are never going to be as flattering on my body shape as the other wide leg and straight leg pants that I added to my wardrobe more recently. And the extra space feels great too. More space to put away clean laundry. And clear criteria to declutter from the clean laundry basket. Just because I wore something does not mean it looked better than other options in my closet. I only did the one shelf and moved on to the next part of my day. That felt good. But the best feeling is having a plan for decluttering criteria which is really a plan for looking and feeling my best. Thanks for your teaching and inspiring. ❤️👗❤️🧺❤️🧦❤️👖❤️👟❤️👚❤️🧤❤️👢❤️👕❤️👖❤️
I loved reading your comment! I have plans to dig into my closet and whittle items down using basic criteria - do I like how I feel when wearing it. I really struggle with personal style and because I am carrying extra weight these days, I never feel like anything is flattering. I never can really narrow things down with DYT. I am not sure why I get overwhelmed when I look at it. Would you mind sharing the capsule wardrobe and style TH-camrs that helped you?
You have done such a brilliant job, Eileen! DYT really helps us hone in on what works for US - you deserve to wear things that feel great on you! Looking forward to hearing more about your wardrobe!
I have set up what I call my daybook for retirement (former teacher here). After years of using daily lists with some success, I decided in the autumn to try a list in combination with goal + outcome chart. Most goals are no more than 15 minutes per day. If I want to do more, okay. But I don't feel pressured to do more. This way, there is time every day for "play" (trip to the coffee shop/library, read a book, do a craft, go for a walk, etc.).
Diane - I don’t know how it’s possible to love someone you’ve never met - but I really do have so much love for you. You put so much into your videos and it’s been life changing for me to watch you!
I decluttered a lot before Christmas, so now I'm in all my cabinets. Today I cleaned out my baking station. Then I cleaned one drawer in a cabinet. So my future includes continuing to clean out all the hidden spaces.
I have been doing the Flylady system for about as long as you (we are the same age:). Flylady Marla Cilley herself told us about your videos, and I was hooked on your hygge touch with her routines. I needed to see this video again ( I watched the 2023 Get Organized Summit). My 2025 reset is to do the deep zone cleanings now that I am more organized. Thanks, Diane, and Happy New Year!
Thank-you for this reminder of the Flylady system. I have adapted it over the years, whilst working out of the house, to working from home, and now into retirement. Thank-you for your lovely and encouraging videos. You are definitely a wonderful cheerleader for me!
I’ll be baby-stepping the Fly Lady system this year…focusing on Morning & Evening routines along with the Daily Focus. I’ll pick up the Zone Cleaning within a month or two. This way I won’t feel so overwhelmed by starting everything at once…I tried that once and failed miserably…Thanks for the reminder about Self-Care…it is the cornerstone of our being and so important to implement.
My goal for next year is overall discipline. Be it the budget, getting to the gym regularly, sticking to my prescription eating plan or decluttering the house. For ME, it all ties to one issue- discipline.
Hi Diane, you’ve been my inspiration for many years now and I appreciate everything you do to help and support us! The daily routines and self care really works 🎉🙌🫶 Hope 2025 is spectacular for you and your family!
I've only been watching your videos for about 6 months, and I've learned so much. My mum always stressed getting dressed every morning and making the bed. You brought back some lovely memories. I must get myself a timer. Wishing you a happy, healthy, 9:18 and joy-filled 2025. 😊
Thank you, Diane, for all your help and reminders that help keep us on track for a peaceful and organized life. Wishing you and yours a very happy New Year.
I really have to focus myself to the daily self care minutes. Everytime you bring it up in your videos I have the feeling you talked to me right in the face 😅. Well never to old to learn. Will try (again and again and again) until it will be a routine as well
I have been a fledgling flylady since 2019 😅 hopefully 2025 will be the year to make ot work! You are so upbeat in this video I've resolved to try one more time - hopefully. Big love from Scotland ❤ 34:03
I so appreciate your expertise and the way you teach with kindness and motivation. In 2025 I’d like to pull my routines more into the weekdays so that my weekends are more for free time.
You are at your best when you mentor others in the Flylady system, as you make it work for each of us. I first came across your videos in the summer of 2017, and your daily mentoring changed my life for the better. Truly. Thank you!
Enjoyed this recap. I seem to manage with the daily and weekly routines and the house is clean and decluttered, but it’s all the other “projects” I procrastinate over such as house maintenance jobs, an exercise routine etc. I have a big to do list of things to do and plan but need motivation to get them actually done!
I have understood this system for years but this is the year I plan to fully embrace it after a couple of years of personal ill health and bereavement, hoping to go from everything everywhere all at once to everything in its place and time, thank you for this gift Diane it was a timely kick up the bahookie 😂, best wishes to you and everyone for the New Year 🎉
I've been watching some of your older videos about the Flylady system, you make it so clear to follow although I am just getting started with it. Delighted to see you today with your update and tips looking forward to 2025, you are so encouraging, and I look forward to joining you through next year THANK YOU 😊
I think January is a good time to reevaluate, recharge, reenergize, restart and reflect on what we want to work on in the coming year. Maybe fitness, health, organizing, decluttering, self-care and your videos motivate us in all those areas. Thank you for your enthusiasm and motivation.
Thank you so much for all you do to help and encourage all of us! 💗 My tendency is to get overwhelmed with the urgency of ALL THE THINGS I think I need to do, and then end up getting very little done… so, my One Thing this year is a “lightbulb moment” 💡 that was a suggestion in this video: to set a “finish time” to my routines… ⏰ I am one of those people who work better under pressure, so maybe reframing my routines in this way will make the difference this year! 🙏🏼😅 thanks again, Diane 💗 and a very Happy New Year to you and everyone! 🎆🎉🎇 xxx
Greetings Diane. Lol spinning, did 2 errands - pharmacy and grocery store. House is in order , bed made swished the bathroom. Today is a treat I I am going to spend a short period of time quilting, I am dedicating 15 mins each day - no missing to pursuit my very enjoyable craft . An amazing small time but committed produces joy and productivity. ❤❤❤Hsppy New Year.
This was such a good presentation on the Flylady system. No wonder it was so well- received. You were so helpful with my routines after retiring from my career as a librarian.
Thank you Diane. This was a useful reminder video. I do very well with the Fly Lady system even the self care. However, this last month I replaced my 30 minute after lunch reading session to get something done for the holiday. Oh my gosh, what a mistake. By Christmas I felt a bit off, so yesterday I started my lunch reading again. I immediately felt better. Even though I read at night, that me time during the day is so needed. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for refreshing the system. I got sick and all the Christmas overwhelm got to me. I still don't feel great now, but I feel better looking around my decluttered living room and kitchen and see the routines again. All best wishes for the new year.
Planning on decluttering even more. I have been following you for a couple of years and have made some progress but I feel I need to get into gear to see bigger changes. I am also going to be more mindful with money; spend after being more intentional. Can’t wait for 2025. Lets get this show on the road.
Merry Christmas and happy 2025!!! Have been following you for soooo many years, and your TH-cam channel has been such great help. Though the wheels fall off sometime but with your help, I was able to find my way back. It's great to have the refresher, looking forward to even greater improvements. Thanks again, Diane .
Diane! This video was perfectly timed for me! I have been sorta following Fly lady systems for a little while, but I had decided to really zero in on it in the coming year. Thank you for the inspiration! Done is better than perfect!!! Rah rah rah! 🎉
This is so so so helpful. My sticking point seems to be the morning routine because every morning is so different for me. I work 2nd shift so I get home around midnight. Some mornings I have to get up at 7am and take my son to school then come back home, some mornings I can go to the gym and some mornings I go to my second job which is as a cleaning lady so it’s pointless to showers first but then some days I need to get ready to have a meeting with a client early. I do my evening routine at 2:30 pm when I leave for work & then I can basically crash at midnight. But for I still don’t know for sure what I’m supposed to be doing like do I get up and put on my gym clothes do mine little morning stuff and then go take him to school or do I get up and shower but then come home later and change clothes. Do I make a routine for each day of the week? Like every Monday is this one every Tuesday (Even though every morning is different, they the same week to week)
I’m going to concentrate on the good things I ‘do’ and try to fill time with them, rather than putting effort in to trying to stop myself doing things I know full well I shouldn’t. Have a great 2025 Diane 🎉
Great refresh, Diane! It reminded me how helpful the routines are ... I'm carrying on in 2025 and polishing them up a bit, thanks to this. You are appreciated. 🇨🇦❤️🇩🇰
A treat for sure, Diane, to get to watch your Get Organized presentation. Thank you! It's always good to have a year-end review of how things should be flowing. The FlyLady system is the only one I've seen that really works. I've been a Flybaby since 2003. Your tweaks enhance it even more, and have been great additions for me. Best wishes in 2025! 💙
I'm gunna do a dump run of all the stored items my family and I have been pretending we'll need and use. (There are quite a few boxes from our move that haven't seemed necessary to even open.) It's been an issue of contention but I think I have good grounds- 3 years later- to finally get 'er done!
Thanks for the reminder Diane to get my plan back in action. Been watching you since 2016/17 I believe! Happy new year and I hope 2025 is a better year 🎉❤
I love watching your videos... you a wee but further in your life, my ds17 will be finishing school in a few years and life is getting easier, but I am also looking forward to being just hubby and me. I have managed to get in a habit of doing Duolingo every day (380 days and counting 🎉). At some point I want to downsize as well. Looking at you is looking into the future 😅 Warm greetings from Finland ❤❤❤
Diane ❤, thank you for your guidance and content in 2024! I watched all of your videos, I only cant bring myself to watch one of them, just not ready personally ;-) (taking care of a parent in final days), but I know its there, perhaps one day… have a wonderfull year 2025!!!❤❤❤
Happy 2025 to you and yours Diane! Your explanation of the FlyLady system has made my housekeeping easier to manage over the past few years! Thank you!

Diane! This video was perfectly timed for me! I have been sorta following Fly lady systems for a little while, but I had decided to really zero in on it in the coming year. Thank you for the inspiration! Done is better than perfect!!! Rah rah rah! 🎉
Glad it was helpful, Rebekah!
Thank you for your inspiring gift. When do you fit in exercise?
Simplicity and self care are my focuses for 2025
Great refresh, Diane!
Thanks for your inspiration. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! 😍
I've been trying to FLY on and off for years. I'm optimistic that '25 can be better. 🙂 Thanks so much for all your encouragement!
Happy new year Diane. Here’s to healthy happier 2025 ❤❤❤
I'm gunna do a dump run of all the stored items my family and I have been pretending we'll need and use. (There are quite a few boxes from our move that haven't seemed necessary to even open.) It's been an issue of contention but I think I have good grounds- 3 years later- to finally get 'er done!
Thank you for this wonderful inspiring video, what a treat and just what I needed to hear.
Great restart! Thank you!!
Looking forward to 2025 🎉 rah rah rah Happy New Year ❤😊
Same to you, Sabine!
Great video. I feel reset to think about my days and how I can plan to make them work for me and my house.

I’ve been following you for about a year. I have learned all these things from you, but it was great to hear it all in one go. Thank you!
Thank you for this generous gift! I bought myself a hard copy of sink reflections for Christmas and this is a perfect accompaniment
This video helped me to get back into my routines.
