Upper and Lower Integrals

  • We motivate and define upper and lower integrals for bounded functions. We then prove that the upper integral of a function is always at least as big as the lower integral of the function. We finish by computing the upper and lower integrals of the indicator function for the rationals on [0,1], i.e., the Dirichlet function.
