A fantastic addition. I have a couple of drones i can not put a compass on as they do not have the i2c lines broken out. This means i can finally have everything working on one fitmware without having to try to remember multiple setups
Best change ever, I can now rest a little on position hold. And soon I will try a mission :-). I don't have enough aux ports for everything. 1 for DJI, 1 for GPS and 1 for ExpressLRS. That is it on my oldie FC.
I’ve been testing this for a while now and it’s been amazing! I held position for 10 minutes with no issues. But I know some accelerometers will drift and I’m probably just lucky. This is the best change ever😎 Also your audio is phased wrongly in left and right channels 😂 I’d take any channel and make it mono across left and right so it sounds better
Thanks for the information Pawel. The audio was fine on my setup. I don't really think that setting up and calibrating a magnetometer is all that difficult. I would rather go through the minor hassle and have better functioning, more precise navigation. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to INAV and this hobby in general. I REALLY appreciate your efforts. I always find your content interesting, informative, and entertaining. Happy flying amigo 🫡 🍻.
Question: I am using MTF-01 on an Eachine Tyro69 quadcopter with MATEKF411 board with only an accelerometer (MPU600) and no other sensor on the board. I have an issue. I can read data from the sensor but I can't see poshold in the modes. Some people say it is required to have a compass and a GPS module to be able to use poshold with INAV. In principal optical flow sensor that I use can measure the changes in heading and the changes in altitude. Just like a set of GPS and compass sensor would do. Is there a way I can use poshold with my setup? Thanks in advance.
this is cool. I have a crazy F405 that has no SCSD pads, but does have an INAV target. I was going to use it in a rekon3 or 35. that will make it easy but not perfect.
@@FPVUniversity No. Audio is broken. As @DanielSingerX mentioned phase of one of the channel is 180 degree shifted. On stereo setup it sounds ok but "surround-like", on mono setup (a lot of phones) you hear only the difference between channels.
I tried to replicate it on every digital piece of equipment I have available (that means plenty) and it works fine of every single one of those. Even on smartphones. So I have no idea what's going on
I'm in the UK and audio seems to be broken here. It's the same on all my devices. Seen a comment regarding the left and right audio phased wrong.... not sure if this could be the case as the music seems to play fine but I don't have much of an idea. I noticed something Pawel posted the other day regarding inav auto tuning for h7 plus maybe more fc's. Im super interested in this if there's any more information!!!??
A have a small question. When I do a mag calibration should the battery be mounted? Seems Li Ion batteries sometimes have steel cases but not LiPOs as far as I know. I feel the quad should be out in the yard, powered up and use the stick commands to do the calibration to be sure. Any suggestions? 🦘
Mag-less navigation: not precise, it's better to use a compass Mag navigation: freshly calibrated drone with the most isolated from any noise mag spins and flies away and you never see it again
Good news; FPV goggles and a compass dance never made me appear too sane to bystanders. Guess this will also help slow fixed wings with no magnetometer make better sense of high wind scenarios.
Gmail tells me I am very close to running out of storage and that I won't be able to send email soon - that is what is stopping me from subscribing to your newsletter - sorry.
Funny thing it seems to be broken for like 10% of viewers. But only for some and I have no idea what's the deal over here as it works perrfectly fine over here
For those who can not hear the sound, check mono/stereo in your audio settings. I had Windows audio set to mono, setting it to Stereo fixed it.
and what about on ios?

Thanks for all the info, Pawel! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for this Pawel! My audio was fine... not perfect but could hear and understand everything!
My favorite part of this video is where you say "it will work.... Or rather, it should work..." 😂

Brilliant work all involved in this

love what you did with the sound
The sound is fine only some viewers hear for unknown reason distrorded version. probably Windows with Mono audio setup

Something is wrong with the sound...
Sound is not perfect this time. There was a lot of wind and I had to run it through audio restoration AI.
@@FPVUniversity The only thing i can hear are some clicks. So nothing that sounds like words or spoken language 🤔
Strange, works great over here
@@FPVUniversitysome more people are complaining about the sound. No idea what causes it but i can only hear some clicks

Voice over is needed my lord!
Hi, i just flashed INAV and flies great! how can i get POSHOLD to work without magnetometer? Never been setup with one before
Latest INAV allows that by default, no special settings required
I spent a lot of time to setup and buy all mag enabled gos units so this is good timing I'm about to build new quads. .. when is this released?
What about no mag AND no barometer? Will that allow navigation?
What about if your quad has no compass AND no barometer? Will iNav 7.1 still be able to RTH and position hold? Thanks for an informative video!
yes, but performance will be poor
@@FPVUniversity Thanks. Will it be better than BetaFlight rescue mode which is all I have now?

I prefer successfully installed and calibrated magnetometer.
The quad is more precise.
Good job you had sub-titles :)
Does that mean when the magnetometer fails during flight, it will continue to kind of work with magless?

Liion interfereed my magnetometer. Even after calibration. It was around 1-2cm from magnetometer.
you need to calibrate it in the condition you fly it
Mag-less navigation: not precise, it's better to use a compass
Mag navigation: freshly calibrated drone with the most isolated from any noise mag spins and flies away and you never see it again
Way points?! You got my attention
