While JJ sang some of my fav Stranglers songs Hugh was def the more complete confident vocalist, It's out there that JJ didn't actually like doing vocals.
There is a moment in this song when it sounds like 'Roundabout' by Yes. If these guys had been born a few years earlier they'd have been part of the prog rock explosion. Which come to think of it, is probably true of most punk and new wave talents. What would John Lydon have been doing if he'd come of age musically in 1969-70?
JJ is also without doubt the finest Bass player I've ever seen , only thing I disliked him was accepting israeli money to tour there and his bad mouthing of Hugh.
Hugh's voice is sublime😎🎶
Hugh's guitar lines in this song are just wonderful. No fancy playing, just the perfect choice of notes. What a band. 😎
Fabulous 'Upscale'. . best yet. . this really is far more like it and now on to N.D./Genetix. Briliant. . many fanx
At their very best here.
I was at this incredible gig. So many happy memories of the greatest band in the world ever.

From a time when audiences were one with the band rather than impassive spectators as so often happens at big gigs now.
The Stranglers at their very best imo.

What's wrong with 'accepting Israeli money's as you put it.?
@HughDresden *I was about to reply but then seen ur name, either it's irony or simply trolling.
Dumb comment.
