each of these playings should be recorded for the people on earth as legacy to them because each one is priceless. we way undervalue the worth of these performances .
I loved this guy the first time I saw him!! Other than his stunning virtuosity on the git, which often brings rightful tears of sorrow and joy and everything betwixted, his facial and body lingo are sooooo tied to his tuneage, the aura of the piece he's playing is always happily displayed. I sincerely hope that generations hence will appreciate this master. Long live Tommy E. !!
hi pat. THIS is a real opportunity for me to listen to this... tommy is flying i don't know where between blues and jazz, and it's just simply magic.;. many many thanks...
holy shit!just about time I think I have seen it all, I find another vid of Tommy tearing it up.Going in feb to see him for the 2nd time.Cant wait. God bless te and his family.
Comprehending this master-class piece would need the descriptive words that are better reserved for a word-smith of a musical discipline greater than mine...but in lay-terms...this man Tommy, so taken by the music...every and ever-flowing musical muscle in his body...all his passionately expressive expressions...all tied up sooo beautifully! Long live Tommy E
I've seen Tommy twice at the Chet Atkins Festival in Nashville, and it amazes me that this is an acoustic guitar! How much can you do with an acoustic, I USED to think...wow.
Wow great version! There is a performance Tommy did at the 2008 festival, every Tommy fan should see type Ultimate Classical Gas Experience and omg i wish i was there. But thanks for the post
If you see an amazing performance by somebody who is nearly touching the heaven's sky, then you remember you cannot call that guy "God" because there is Tommy. And obviously Tommy tries to teach God how to play the guitar.
Been watching Tommy videos since 2005 and have been to two of his shows here in San Diego. But if I poke around on youtube a bit, I can always find something I've never seen before - like One Mint Julep! Makes you wonder how much he can play that we never get a chance to hear. And what's with this audience sitting on their hands most of the song?
When you hear the sound of those notes and see how much he became one with the song, I think that you just want to absorb it all without any outside noise and distractions. Just one of those special performances.
Lovely - most of the Tommy stuff one sees is him playing multiple parts very fast, and a lot of sins can be covered up by fast playing. So it is great to see him go slow and tasteful on this classic Rudy Toombs song.
Hi Pat this is so cool, I hope you dont mind my video response of Tommy playing the song quite differently -hope to catch you on the road somewhere Andy
Maybe it's something to do with.. well.. doesn't Emmanuel in fact translate ' God is among us' ? At least that's what the gospel writes when Jesus was born..
How nice for this guy to stop by and visit this planet!
Tommy Emmanuel + Maton = Classic

I think that he is the best wood guitar player alive.

@robert ward..I think the audience was numbed by Tommys barrage of mesmerizing musicality...I know my slack jaw was on the floor in an instant...
he 's a lot like mick fleetwood ....you can not denie the love they express for the sound of their instruments they really love their instrument
yepper
At 2:13 Im looking all over the stage for Harpo Marx. Wow!
He makes his guitar sound like a harp he's unique

Keep that leg moving Tommy
an old Etta Baker song, great
harmonic at 5th, and he bends the neck forward to make the tone dip, kind of like a tremelobar
my bad i meant Ultimate Classical Gas Medley with Strings every Tommy fan has to see this
Not too shabby ! lol
I mean really, does anyone have more fun playing than Tommy? I hate to quote Macauley Culkin but, "I don't think so!"

The hair is too good here....
I can do that, I just don't want to. I'm lying. That's a lie.
I tre che hanno votato contro non capiscono un cazzo.
