this is such a great point my grandmother had cancer but we decided to pull the plug on keeping her alive with a pump or whatever when we realized it would just hurt her more to force her to stay alive, death really is bliss

I’m still in my mid-20s, and that is the most I’ve related to the “old” mentality in my life.
I’ve gone through 4 family pet deaths so far, and even if your family still has a surviving pet at the time, it doesn’t take away the pain. If anything, it gets worse when you realize the other pet(s) is/are morning the loss, too.
