The rod butt can convert from a bent to straight, it was just the button that is kind of broken that slammed it into the bent position, but it was fine! just freaked us out lol...we got the button fixed too!

Or at least something to leverage your rod and reel with, something for leverage!!! Her hair was perfect after the fact though!!! She probably should do a slo-mo shot with her, wooshing her hair around in the wind!!! Lmao, I'd be screaming and cheering like a crazy person!!!
There is so much I like about this one: no stupid hat turned backwards (sun burning the face but looking oh so cool), using the rod holder, instead of sticking the rod in the gut, leg, or groin, no stupid music that distracts from what is happening, keeping the young swordy only because a safe release was not possible (I do like circle hooks just for that reason), almost a bay boat design----cool boat, real boat handling which is absolutely vital to make the catch. Thanks for posting, tight lines. PS I do understand it is attractive--but for people getting ready to go offshore, please stay in your shorts or bikini a SHORT time, believe me the sun is murder--murder. I doubt very much they do not know that and I'll bet she has some long sleeved muslin type clothing to protect her precious skin when on the water.

Jacki what line class are you fishing with on this fish, many years ago I was shark fishing the self and hook up onto something on 15kg stand up 9 1/2 hours later the line gave up and I wonder to this day was it a swordfish
We are using pretty heavy duty line, we are always changing line out on that reel but I’m pretty sure we’ve got a 300lb test leader to 200lb mono to heavy braid but I forgot how heavy the braid is, but basically all made for fighting really big fish!
