Finally, someone mentions Revocation. Whenever someone brings up the new wave of thrash metal Revocation almost never gets brought up or mentioned. Yeah their current stuff is pretty proggy ngl but I still love this band to death and the more recognition they get the better.
On of my favourites so far as technical thrash goes is Havok, whilst their themes are closer to regular thrash, the music is damn good, and they have the fun detail of being aggressively direct about the theme(s) of the song.
Im big into prog/tech thrash, spent many hours digging about online. Here are some mostly older bands that I enjoy: Obliveon Mekong Delta Sadus Aspid Tourniquet Depressive Age Wolf Spider Lost Century Believer (USA) Droys Equinox (Norway) Toxik Target (Belgium) Osiris (Netherlands) Sacrosanct Droys
I guess Sadus would be my all time favorite tech thrash band. They have such a fast unrelenting and chaotic vibe to them. Most of my friends back in high school couldn't handle it and some straight up said they HATED Sadus, but we were young and they were foolish.
Another great video. I love that you will heart disagreeing comments. A lot of others on TH-cam get really butt hurt at the smallest things. I applaud you for being beging better than that.
Imo, Melodic Death Metal/Thrash Metal. But this is the third time I've heard the term "Melodic Thrash" in my comment section, so maybe that'll be considered a style at some point.
It’s funny because I’ve been listening to a lot of revocation lately, one of my all time favorite bands, their guitar work is so sick. deathless is a masterpiece
Maybe. To be honest, when I made that video, I was in the process of moving, and I intended for it to be all 50 in one video, to give a long video before my hiatus, but the time crunch made me have to choose between giving up on the video or separating it into parts. So I just uploaded what I already had finished. I am not opposed to finishing it, but its a lot of work for what only a few would appreciate, so it hasn't been my top priority, but it has been in the back of my mind. I hope to get to it eventually.
@@whatsinameme5258if its not done theres several microgenres: emo mathcore - fall of troy, non big songs underoath and the song one of us is the killer, theres what i would call melodic mathcore: dillinger escape plan, norma jean, and 7 angels 7 plagues and regular which is converge, code orange, vein fm etc
Au contraire, my friend...😆Have you watched the video to Batushka's Yekteniya IV? Easy! Make it about martyrdom and how gory it is...have enough Goregrind and Noise elements into the mix, and voila! Makes you be in a thoughtful state of solemness too, as well as the usual headbanging, lel. (Just make sure to stay rather subtle about the sexier parts of the bible, else it will encroach too much into Pornogrind's territory as well)
maybe i should watch your videos less frequently, ive got 7 albums pulled up for me to listen to and its almost midnight... thanks for introducing uneducated people like me to such good music though. clicked because im a megadeth fan btw, i mainly dedicate my time to a single band at once so i rarely have much variety in what i listen to
@@stantorren4400 Voivod really is in a league of their own. They went from an early adopter of thrash, to progressive thrash, technical thrash, then their own style of prog metal, garage rock, prog again, industrial, then back to their own style of prog

Meshuggah's first album is best described as tech thrash also
Cliff definitely brought the Prog elements to Metallica, and they loved it ever since.
Dissonant Death Metal next! Bands like Gorguts, Ulcerate, Artificial Brain, Ad Nauseum, Portal.
THIS NEEDS TO BE TALKED ABOUT
A genre that has stayed trve but has managed to innovate.
Finally, someone mentions Revocation. Whenever someone brings up the new wave of thrash metal Revocation almost never gets brought up or mentioned. Yeah their current stuff is pretty proggy ngl but I still love this band to death and the more recognition they get the better.
I would argue there more death/thrash
Long day at work and commuting to home. This video hits like the sweetest of treats, not in overly sugary way but in a perfect, savory and sweet way ❤
I subscribed for the Skeletonwitch shout out. One of my absolute favorite bands.
On of my favourites so far as technical thrash goes is Havok, whilst their themes are closer to regular thrash, the music is damn good, and they have the fun detail of being aggressively direct about the theme(s) of the song.
The best thrash genre.
Used to have a Technical Thrash Metal band, we were the only one in the area, it's rare to find these kind of bands
Vektor is awesome!
Revocation's newest album is hella groovy with their tech death sound

Osiris (Netherlands)

heard pretty much all of these lol
@@greedo69 I can name many more
Mekong Delta, Hexenhaus, Wolf Spider
Mekong Delta are such an underrated band
Vektor is the most amazing Thrash band I ever heard

probably my favorite subgenre, thanks!
Mekong Delta - Dances Of Death if you want to have the genre resumed in one album ^^
Your improvements in pacing and editing do not go unappreciated, my guy. Keep at it.
Thank you!
Vektor and Coroner are my favorites, tech thrash and tech death are peak metal tbh

do an entire video on space thrash and blackened thrash
Before watching, I expect to see Coroner and Voivod here!
Good. Great video, I need to check out some bands from it I previously didn't know
What would Kreator's new stuff count as? Is melothrash a thing?
Imo, Melodic Death Metal/Thrash Metal. But this is the third time I've heard the term "Melodic Thrash" in my comment section, so maybe that'll be considered a style at some point.

great video my guy
Now i wonder if melodic thrash exists...
Kreator's Terrible Certainty (1987) seems like technical thrash to me. Not quite sure, but this album is somewhat overlooked in their discography.
It’s funny because I’ve been listening to a lot of revocation lately, one of my all time favorite bands, their guitar work is so sick. deathless is a masterpiece
the anand clique click
album maybe?
how could you forget Toxik and Blind Illusion my guy
Have you listened to thought industry? if not check out their second album
Artillery is an awsome band
Slayer is more “brutal” than regular thrash metal so I don’t think it’s the default basic thrash.
What is a good example of typical Thrash then?
@@whatsinameme5258 id consider bonded by blood from exodus being one of the best examples
@@whatsinameme5258 yeah i think theyre considered on the thrashier side pf death thrash

I think anthrax is a pretty pure thrash in spreading the disease and among the living
Not a Thrash guy but Alice In Hell is such a great record….
Just though I’d ask, but are we getting that part two to the top 50 metal albums of the 2010’s?

are you gonna do mathcore with this technical series
Yes actually. Right after Tech Death.

not a big thrash fan, but after watching this video i have some bands to check out:)
just opened the video and i can see coroner appearing in? let me guess, 4 minutes into the video?
CONTROL DENIED!
You can't be prog with Lars as a drummer
to me the best tech thrash title goes to Atheist's Piece of Time
Confessor?
Do you think it would be fair to call havok technical thrash metal?
Megadeth worship more like
Megadeth clone more accurately
Do Christian gorenoise next.
(Yall think I'm joking 👀)

I just gave it a listen, and yes absolutely.
Why are you creating new subgenre names for describing every single band? "It's proto-neo-tech-doom-death-prog-thrash"
Compare voivod to slayer or sodom
He sounds like a beginner to metal
