Really enjoying your Divinity series, Mort. As someone who has played all the games, it's nice to listen to you going through them. However, I'd like to point out that at the ending of the main game, Damian was as surprised as you were about the twist. He wasn't the mastermind behind the deceit, that was Ygerna's doing. Also, unrelated to the story - did you really just leave a Malachite Gem in that chest? It's been years since I've last replayed the game, but iirc those were the most rare ingredients for the top level enchants!
Really nice video, learnt stuff even after having played the game! On a side note, never heard someone refer to three quarters (3⁄4) as three fourths before :)
Escorting the zeppelin is annoying if you take bellegar's offer and the final fight is not satisfying unless you also fight bherlin. The fact that execute instantly kills anyone below 50% hp does not help that either. Hopefully the next divinity game will take place after this one.
Spoilers for DOS2 So I'm guessing the cannonical ending for DOS:2 is the one where you let Lucian keep divinity. Kinda bs tbh but it's wierd bc I assumed he wanted to restore the veil and remain the divine in name only while Dalis ruled by his side. Also Damian isn't dead? He didn't show up in DOS2 at all and was presumed dead by Lucian's hands. I'm confused now
I have a ton of lore videos about all of it that explains it, but yeah it's so much nonsense. They've admitted their lore for the series is a bit of a mess
@@MortismalGaming also just a question, is Source a separate but similar energy to normal magic? I wasn't sure if by purging the world of source(the ending I chose) magic would also have gone away with it
@@HighShepherdLopes Magic and source are separate, source can amplify magic and is often seen intertwined with it, but source being purged won't stop anyone from casting a regular fireball
@@MortismalGaming Yea. They've been adapting their lore to suit the games they wanna make. They weren't a big studio back in the early 2000's so continuity wasn't on their mind. Now, with their games exploding and everybody wanting a piece of that sweet lore, it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Would have made more sense to set DOS2 *after* Divinity 2. That way you can say that with Lucian returned and the Dragon Knight's help, they drove the Black Ring back and forced a final battle. Maybe the Dragon Knight died, maybe not but Lucian did in the deathfog. For good this time, because nobody survives deathfog. Makes a lot more sense than. 'And then the voidwoken happened, and the black ring was near defeat, and a fuckton of people turned into meat puppets... but now we have Damian back in force not a few years later, nobody even breathes a word of the world nearly ending and Dragon Knights, despite using source, are all fine and dancy. Also Lucian is dead again but this time coz he got stabbed. Tee hee. Also he's actually a fake divine now so... freeing him is meaningless." Wot?
Don't even try to make sense of any of the "timeline." Larian didn't really care. I have a sneaky suspicion the Original Sin line did not start as Divinity games at all.
Looking at sentinel island, I get th feeling that the dragon slayers are doing the right thing, just in an unnecessarily cruel way for the wrong reason.
I got a kick out of Bellegar's "Dragon Commander' spiel when u ask "who's Maxos" in DOS. I actually went and bought the game after hearing that promo :D
I really like that game. It had something unique to it, just like Tyranny and a couple more forgotten ones.
I wish we would get a Tyranny sequel.

I loved this game because there are no spiders or creepy bugs.
I wanted to like this game so much. Gave it two tries. Never got into it
