You were one of the biggest deciding factors on me checking into the DB9, because you are such a champion of it. I tried it out, bought the Gen4, and more often than not, it’s what I carry. It’s just so easily concealable and reliable that it’s tough to pass up.
That's normal pricing! Everyday from big box store ruger lcp max is $400, s&w bodyguard 2.0 $400, diamond back db380 gen4 $250, kahr cw380 $350, beretta Pico $280.
Thanks for the review. I have the Bodyguard 2.0 and LCP Max but have to pick up a DB380 and seeing your review. Appreciate it brother!! Stay safe out there.
db380 gen 4 with extended mag 7 + 1 is my everyday because it's so light and small and yet completely shootable. great vid. - edit - I run this lefty and it works just fine.
Bruv totally unrelated but you've saved me like thousands of dollars XD - I don't have the urge for a collection I just rent stuff at ranges, but man sharing your collection and experience has my bank account thankful
Have a Diamond Back DB 15 AR -15 and it's been flawless and I believe I got it years ago for $700 . Always interested in their pistol line cause they're made in Florida every part.
@spnfirearms yes sir the max. I think right now it's $270 on grabagun. All stainless slide version like yours. Black friday around the corner so assume they'll do a flash sale for cheaper.
I've had terrible problems with Rugers rusting. It's ridiculous how fast and how terrible they rust. It's unbelievable really. I've always oiled/maintained every 6 months and that's always kept all my parts in good, never rusted condition... but with Ruger parts, I've had so many of them rust and rust severely in just weeks even though they were oiled, either with Mobil 1 Synthetic (a great rust preventer) or Break Free CLP. I've even purchased many parts from them that had finger prints rusted into them from the factory. I even had parts that came sealed in backs that appeared to not be rusted, so I injected oil into the small baggies to keep the parts coated in a layer of oil (without being messy)... and they STILL rust really bad. I literally will never buy another Ruger part (or gun) of any kind unless I already have plans set up to Cerakote them... because I just can't afford to have parts going bad like that with no way to keep them from rusting. I even got coffee on a LCP slide once and it took the bluing off in just a couple minutes. Like, how can a gun company ever allow their parts/guns to get like this? (and why now, but not older guns, some of which are the same models?)
for 380 i would want extreme penetrator. imo the defender is good but doesn’t meet my requirements in 380 at least. the two things i want more is adequate penetration & shot placement before wound channel especially in anything smaller than 9mm
@@christophergaudreau9265 1100fps would be near most 9mm, my goal in a micro carry would be the ability for shot placement, follow up shots, and adequate penetration. i would want sub sonic heavier weight bullet less muzzle rise more push in the palm. wound channel is not of my consideration when looking at 3in barrel micro
Curious... I have had bad luck with my lcp max. I sent it back because I could not get it apart. I sent it back a 2nd time due to accuracy problems at 7 yds and then traded it for a bodyguard 2.0. Ruger customer service was great but the LCP Max was not. Anyone else having problems.
Hey brother do you think you could do a video on direct mount optics for the 43 x mos? In the market but just need some guidance. Thanks you! Enjoy your videos thanks brother.
Cool. I didn't know there was a 380 Gen 4. I thought the gen 4 was just the 9mm. I'm surprised they didn't add a slide release to the DB380 Gen 4 too though. Any idea if the DB380 Gen 4 is the same size as the previous generations? I know the DB9 Gen 4 is slightly longer and I think it's also slightly thicker than the Gen 1-3 models. It's also a lot taller, but that's just because of the pinky rest on the magazines.
The Gen 4 DB380 is the same size as the older ones, mine had a bunch of issues but SPNs works so I'm sure most of em will be good especially considering the Gen 4 DB9 is good to go.
@@magnum_0710 Cool. Thanks. The DB9 Gen 4 is definitely longer and wider than the previous models. I know I want a DB9 (as well)... but I'm not sure if I want a Gen 3- or a gen 4. I'm not sure what they changed on any of the gens for either gun, except that the Gen 4 DB9 is longer and has a slide stop. Hope I can find a website or something that shows all the changes (I think gun companies should be required to release these changes).
Hey there, saw the comment hasn’t been responded to. I own the 938 and I’ve been thinking about making a video because it is kinda rare. I love it for pocket pistol, hard to beat in my opinion. I have a love hate with sig but the 938 is reliable and shoots way better then expected for its size!
@@jason200912 the gx4 is literally the same dimensions as the hellcat, maybe a fraction of an inch wider. You must be thinking of the gx4 carry, different gun. "Much larger" when it's barely thicker and maybe .2 inches taller is insane lmfao. The exact dimensions in inches are hellcat L 6.0, W 1.0, H 4.25 Gx4 is L 6.05, W 1.08, H 4.4.
I will never trust my life to a cheap pistol. Its silly IMO. Save up and get something guaranteed to be 100% reliable 100% of the time. For range toys, buy w.e you want and have fun. To each there own though
If these are bad guns, what do you use for deep concealment? While playing on play scapes, while bouncing on trampolines with 15 other kids, while taking the kids on long bike rides?
@@spnfirearms I just would do off body carry in like a 945 bag or something I think especially since as parents were looking to be active a threat is typically going to be a little bit farther than 10 to 15 yards which is currently what is being utilized like the diamondback and LCP?
That looks crazy jumping around on a trampoline with a man purse around the front of you… everyone knows what that is… plus private businesses that don’t let firearms in won’t let that fly what so ever… we just did my daughters 6th birthday with all of her friends from school and there’s no way some of the parents aren’t going to say something about an over priced gun bag on my chest while playing basketball with their kids….
Threats are typically up close and personal… and 10-15 yards is perfect range for an lcp and Diamondback… that’s only 30-45 feet. I usually think pocket pistols are for 25 yards and inward typically. But on average, self defense encounters are within 3 yards or 9 feet.

i’d love to see an apex glock trigger polymer vs metal comparison or even just the polymer kit review!
Another cool review. Although I can’t get 75% of what SPN reviews 😂💀 I still enjoy the videos
Thanks man! Will definitely check it out!

Hell I've seen the lcp on sale for $250ish range and sometimes a little cheaper.

I want an extended mag for the DB 380 Gen 4 creating a 3 finger grip regardless of capacity...
that's what I use, fits all 3 fingers and it makes the balance feel better on the backside.

Review the smith n wesson Sdve40
i feel like if you're going 380 go with the LCP Max but if you want a 9mm pocket pistol go with the DB9
You should do a left-hand firearms video for us lefty's out there
That bulky handle you’d think the DB would hold more. Random question: think maybe you could do a vid on the Ruger American (compact or subcompact)?

Consider throwing some upgrades at the lcp max!
Had a original DB9 and wasn't great but I hear the new ones are much better plus that's 15-20 years of advancement
Just subscribed had to just something we do over here!!
One of the Diamondback's advantage for me is they're familiarity to Glock.

When are you selling G26 holsters?
I’m the last person to worry about printing but I carry 17 round full size fns appendix no problem I’m 5’7 and 230lbs
How do we tell the difference between Gen 1-3 and Gen 4 DB380s?
Partly, they look different they don't have the checkered pattern on the grip, I hope that helps.

If you really want such a cheap gun get a gx4. Higher capacity, cheaper, and barely larger, better trigger. No-brainer imo.
The DB380 is a lot smaller than the GX4. They really aren't in the same category. I have both and they both are good.
