I offered to pay a Jeep dealership $52K for a gladiator. MSRP was $66K. I also said they had to eat my $6K in negative equity and give me the current 2.9% rate. They said no. 4 months later every Gladiator they had on the lot that day is still there. I will give them another chance at end of the year, but now I want it for $47K
i tried buying 3 Ram/Wrangler/Gladiators for MSRP during the pandemic. the dealer laughed at me and told me negotiations would “start at 5k over MSRP”. i will never, ever, buy a new vehicle from Stellantis/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram again.
@UntamedMotors The more I thought about the more I'm glad they didn't take it because from all the reviews on these new Jeeps being a nightmare I now want 30% off!😁
I've always wanted a Wrangler. My cousin bought one years ago, and even when her son flipped it, it kept going for several more years. Now they are so expensive, and unreliable I won't even consider one.
Dealerships are struggling because of greed, OEMs are struggling because of greed...they both charge too much for the product / service they provide...the value equation doesn't add up anymore for the majority of people. OEMs ultimately want a society where everyone leases a car for 3-4 yrs then gets another lease vehicle...and they want to sell direct to consumer...control the price and the demand... Definitely interesting times ahead...
Exactly. You can’t expect to offer poor quality products for a premium price & expect customers to walk like crazy and buy. The pandemic gave dealers & manufacturers a false sense of security with sales and they were arrogant in the idea that people will continue to buy even if they raise prices. The today market is a harsh new reality for them.
Last year I leased a brand new 2023 Honda Ridgeline off the showroom floor, the “Honda quality” just wasn’t evident. Panel gaps were not consistent, some orange peel in spots and other quality control issues inside as well and that was the best one they had in stock, so it’s all brands across the board. And now Honda’s 1.4M engine recall on their “bullet proof” V6, my next vehicle will be a used middle 2000’s truck, before purchasing the Ridgeline I looked at all the major brand and they all had issues and they are charging crazy prices for all of them.
I have the 2nd Gen Acura RDX with the 3.5 and it is not currently part of that recall. . . yet. I bought it because of that engine and that everything else in that size either had a turbo or not enough power. Now I am left wondering.
This reminds me of the stories of Chrysler right before Iacocca. Bloated vehicles that nobody wanted, high interest rates and dealers failing left and right. Short term fire sales helped those who wanted the cars, but the bankruptcy was the only direction. Sadly, there’s no Iacocca coming to the rescue now. Question will be, who gets Jeep and Ram Trucks from the aftermath. 😔
Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler had problems way before European companies bought them. They stopped innovating and just kept shoving gas guzzling V8s into ugly brick cars. Haha!

I would love to buy a gladiator for $40,000 with a longer box for my work truck as I’m a contractor. I got an email from North Park Toyota in Texas offering 11K off the MSRP, 2.9APR for 72months on a 2024 SR5 Crewmax 4X4. I have also seen at one of the local Ford dealerships here in Western New York, Dave Smith Ford offering 10K off a Bronco Raptor. I’m still not interested in these vehicles at the price points they are trying to sell them for. A vehicle is not an asset, more like a depreciating liability.

There is certainly destruction for every person living and operating out of greed. Its inevitable. History has shown countless times what happens to people who take advantage of other people for their own fame and fortune. The reality is, the change we all want won’t come without a price. When the market collapses, and it will happen, it needs to happen, it will usher in years of hardship economically for all of us. Our nation needs a hard reset. I truly don’t believe soft to be in any part of that equation. I hope I’m wrong. But honestly folks. We did it to ourselves. We allowed society to become this way. We allowed these people to do the damage they’ve done. And it will take a united people to stand up and say enough is enough. Otherwise there won’t be anything left of this country or the American dream left for our kids and their kids.
I really appreciate your videos, they are super informative and also links the people with the market, not an easy task talking about the ram jeep are for people that makes a lot of money (85 grand / year ) or a least is a lot for me today, and not for the majority of the people ( the blue collar people). How can someone make that kind of money to buy a 80 grand truck or suv? Also for example my limit is 30k and that’s stretching my budget. I only dream to buy a 60k truck maybe winning the lottery. So it’s almost impossible. And I don’t know but I believe the people have the same feeling.
Stellantis trying to be a luxury brand while providing what they did is the cause of their death. Not to mention hiring a French man to run an American company was destined to fail! Where in Wyoming are you? Are you still working with RE? Send a link, if you don't mind, as my wife and I are looking to relocate to that state.
I had a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door, the paint was horrible, had debris under the paint, corrosion, paint chipping off.
A MASERATI IS CHEAPER.😂😂😂
Great video, however static noise in the background is destroying my ears.
Wait... say it ain't so! Did you sell your Jeep 392?
I really appreciate your videos, they are super informative and also links the people with the market, not an easy task talking about the ram jeep are for people that makes a lot of money (85 grand / year ) or a least is a lot for me today, and not for the majority of the people ( the blue collar people). How can someone make that kind of money to buy a 80 grand truck or suv? Also for example my limit is 30k and that’s stretching my budget. I only dream to buy a 60k truck maybe winning the lottery. So it’s almost impossible. And I don’t know but I believe the people have the same feeling.
How about Subaru?
Did you buy an Expedition?
Stellantis trying to be a luxury brand while providing what they did is the cause of their death. Not to mention hiring a French man to run an American company was destined to fail!
Where in Wyoming are you? Are you still working with RE? Send a link, if you don't mind, as my wife and I are looking to relocate to that state.
JEEP is a 4-letter word
Just Empty Every Pocket
Those 3 factors are a Tesla.
Wait the jeep is gone already?
What, wait did you say the jeep is gone??
Yep, looks like an Expedition took its place.
I had a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door, the paint was horrible, had debris under the paint, corrosion, paint chipping off. I loved the Jeep but got rid of it due to the paint issues and I did not like the clutch based full time 4 wheel drive setup. Jeep needs to fix the paint and corrosion issues, insane it is still an issue in 2024, especially for the prices they are asking.
Stellantis, talk about putting lipstick on a pig. Had a 2013 Ram 1500, best truck I ever owned, kept it for 11 yrs. In May of this year looked at Ram... ouch ... simply horrible. Greed, they will either fix the issue or go under. Regardless, both the customer and stockholder will take the blunt of bad decisions.
