Loving the 22CM. Thanks for a super video! Unless you've got a specific need for that suppressor on the 6.5CM, toss on an Apollo Max or an ATS brake. I run an Apollo Max on my 6.5CM and there's nearly zero recoil. I would strongly advise not having someone directly on either side of you as it's loud as hell, but from the shooting position, it's just glorious. 2024's got the addition of a .22CM and a 7mm PRC to my field choices. Really looking forward to it!
Hey brother, just another point of view, recent science has shown impact velocity is more of a factor than calculated ft lbs on target. For example, the ELD-X bullet is designed for impact velocities of 1,600 plus, or it will basically pin hole like an FMJ. Therefore not transferring much of the stored energy
The 6.5 definitely had more recoil on camera but it also appeared that the 6.5 was better suited for the tripod once you got back on the target your float was smaller

This is an Impact Precision. Not really sure where to send you on Ruger pre-cuts. I don’t own any of those, so I don’t know that I have good advice… Proof Research I believe has some and does a pretty decent job.

The caliber is quite interesting. Do you think that accuracy will drop off substantially at the 1000-1500 round count as mentioned earlier? I'm used to 223 where unless you're running mk262 clones most people will never shoot a barrel out.
Yes, if I were a gambling man, I would say the accuracy will fall around 1600 rounds. You can rework a load that would be accurate likely for another couple hundred rounds just at a different speed than what the original was accustomed to …due to the throat being worn out.
Nice shooting! Triggercam likes the mk5 for filming. Heck of a setup! Side note: i did kill a yote with a .25 cal air rifle probably around 50 foot pounds. Now it took a minute to expire. Not saying i recomend doing so. Though shot placement is king. I use a 6.5 creed. Have taken wlk from 70 yards to 730 yards and havent lost a single bull. None went further than 20 yards. Plus i took a black besr at 350. I have a buddy who has taken an elk at 1250 with a 6.5 and 143 eldx. (He is an excellent shooter who puts in the time training to take those kinds of shots). Im not sure what theu base their findings off of but bullet and shot placement as well as knowing your limits as a shooter. Those should be priority and a hunter should do his due diligence to understand what he can expect from the bullet he uses.
What trigger guard are you using on this build? Would love to build a bolt gun like this but don’t know how to go about piecing everything together. Would love to build a 22 creedmoor.
When shooting deer, it’s not all about energy that’s why arrows can do a crazy amount of damage to a 2000 pound grizzly bear. Using this cartridge bullet pairing on deer is not only possibly unethical, but could be stupid. If your bullets are full of lead, it’s going to shoot particles of lead up to 8 inches deep (and I’m guessing the study I’m quoting used slower bullets then you too) If you’re hunting deer, what you really want is a solid heavy copper, expanding bullet.

@@dannywarren5204 I have no idea how the sound compares to a 22- 250. I only hunt with suppressors at this point in life. With a 22 inch barrel though you’re going to get some fantastic speeds. If you go under 75 grain bullet you’ll likely get upwards of 3400 ft./s.

They would have very similar performance, the AI would possibly have even slightly better speed. But that’s kind of the point of this 22 Creedmoor cartridge …in order to do that you would have to get specially cut barrels/twists and fire fire-form brass on the AI if you want to have those perform at these speeds with modern bullets. The magic of the Creedmoor is it’s all factory now and ready to roll with those higher BC more advancedmodernized bullets at scorching speeds. Great question though, thanks for watching!

You input some common parameters in the ballistic solution. For example, you can have two wind speed values…. one at 5 mile an hour coming from a certain direction and one at 15 mile an hour giving you a range of hold. In general, I use applied ballistics. If you’re asking what the rangefinder calculator I’m using, it’s an Sig Kilo 10k also utilizing applied ballistics.
You’re not wrong. But I had about 500 of these sitting on my shelf. I ultimately will probably move into a 77 TMK …or if you look at these 80s the BC is off the charts.
400-600? A .17HMR, .22Mag, even a .22lr will do that all day, every day. If you just can’t manage that you can go with .22-250, 5.56, .243, or even .308 if you’re really worried about knock down power. Good lord... we really don’t need any more obscure, ridiculously expensive and impossible to get rounds. Sorry. It’s a cool looking rifle, but seriously, let’s stop with the can’t be effective, at medium ranges on small game. And toughen up those shoulders. Go 7.62NATO or .30-06. 😎

Not true at all. Do some research around twist rate and the impact of more modern 80gr bullets vs the 45-55gr projectiles of the 22-250 and you’ll see the very clear difference in performance at anything past 350 yards.
There are too many to list in a simple reply. I recommend going and watching videos on Horizon Firearms and Texas predator Hunter TH-cam channels. They do a really good job of explaining all the differences and extreme advantages the 22 Creed creates over the 22-250.

No I haven’t. That would be interesting to see though. For me this cartridge is really focused on taking small predators and varmints. All the homework I did was around the ballistic comparison and speed…speed to target and energy delivery at various yardages versus the 22-250 and six Creedmoor. those results absolutely shocked me.

It might last longer if you use boron coating on your bullets and barrel

It depends on the barrel length, but you’re talking about running 75-80s upwards of 3300-3600 fps depending on barrel length

There are too many to list in a simple reply. I recommend going and watching videos on Horizon Firearms and Texas predator Hunter TH-cam channels. They do a really good job of explaining all the differences and extreme advantages the 22 Creed creates over the 22-250.
My point was,If you take older cartridges and twist them for heavier bullets,they are just as good or better than the CM@@longrangeprecisionshooters8935

No I haven’t. That would be interesting to see though. For me this cartridge is really focused on taking small predators and varmints. All the homework I did was around the ballistic comparison and speed…speed to target and energy delivery at various yardages versus the 22-250 and six Creedmoor. those results absolutely shocked me.
