I have a classmate who is dealing with depression. She was always ignored. This may be cheesy but this song reminds me of the countless friendships I've had online over the years. I wouldn't have made it this long without my friends on Xbox and PC. Friends you meet online can sometimes be more understanding than your family....as a special needs girl who met my best friends on Twitch, I hafta say, they listen to me a lot better than my family some days! LOL! It takes both sides of the relationship to make it work, whether it's a familial one, a friendship, or a romantic one, so I tend to get along better with my friends, cuz my family isn't special needs like me....well, they've never been DIAGNOSED with them....anyways, hope you all have a wonderful week!

I am literally in tears right now. When I was an 11 year old boy, I lost my mum to cancer in 2015. She used to take me for walks at the park when I was a little boy and watch over me as I played on the playground. One time I walked over to the pond to look at the Snapper fish in the water. And as I was on my way over to the pond, a Goose attacked me. My mother came running to my rescue, my White Knight in shining armour. My father was 30 years old and died serving in war in Africa back in 1982. When I was 11 years old, the final week my mother was in her chemo treatment, I tried to sing this song for her. I dedicated my life to becoming a guitarist just to learn this song. On top of that, I am now 24 years old, and I have just graduated from University as a Marine Scientist. I want to make a cure for cancer.

Someone in my grade would notice me being left out from my group she didn't have many friends so she had nothing else to do and she noticed me crying and hurting myself during classes *(She was in most of them)* And we had a talent show and she sang this song and *actually pulled me up to the stage* and now shes my best friend

During these comfort songs, I tend to mouth the words in front of a mirror or sing or at the song out as though comforting one of my obscure fictional character interests. (cringe, yeah, but I like it and it helps)
Tonight I was too sick. Too tired. So I lay down and listened.

My parents used to fight so much my dad ended it all by hanging himself. The most heartbreaking thing is not only the fighting that made him hang himself, but it was because he proposed to my mum and she rejected him. Ever since that day, I haven't cried cause I've lost an emotion, which is sad. I'm not depressed, I'm fine. My dad was depressed and has asthma which caused him to die almost instantly. This happened when I was 7, in 2016. I'm 11 now, and still will never forget that day. My 5 year old brother is almost depressed, my 7 year old sister is depressed, my grandma is depressed, my mum is depressed, my dad was depressed. My mum moved to a different place, and I dont know if she's okay. I haven't been I contact with her since the day my father died. Me and my siblings were taken away from her, and won't get to see her or get in contact until we're 18. My mum's parents don't even contact us. My life isn't that great, but I've been managing alright. I've had days where I lost it, but it ends. I know it won't last forever, and I hope it doesn't last forever. I was put in three foster families, only two were nice. The one that wasn't s nice would barely feed us, treat us like animals, and keep us outside in the heat. That lasted for three weeks. My sister almost ended it during that time. So she always stayed with me so I could make sure she didnt. She never did, and hopefully won't. We had to go to bed at 4 pm, and we got barely any food. My sister was being bullied as well as my brother, I would get in fights to defend them. Since I dont know what its like to be bullied, I dont know what its like being my siblings. I only have 3 best friends, and they have been with me since day one. My mum would have drugs, she would smoke and drink. My dad was the same. Again, I never had the best past. But Im hoping my future will be better. I live with my grandma, and its better than before. We were originally going to live a happy life in another place, with horses, a nice house, and a large back yard. But unfortunately we never had the money. My family is a little under wealthy, because we only get paid 1k a fortnight. I'm okay now, but the past still haunts me to this day. Sometimes I have flashbacks and will sit still for more than 10 minutes, paralyzed. The reason for that was because I was thinking about those memories. Im obsessed with FNAF now, and it makes me feel better when I'm not in the mood. I also enjoy making gacha movies, and I have friends to support me on roblox. I have a sketchbook where I draw in. I was so... lost one day that I continued writing "Im okay" all over 10 pages of it. Im barely in contact with my other best friend, cause she lives further away from me. When I used to live with my mum, we didn't have a car, lock on our house or wifi. We had only 2 aircons, which meant the house was mostly hot. We were pretty poor, and my mum would lose her mind some nights and throw empty beer bottles on the ground causing them to shatter everywhere. There were cigarette butts around the place, it was like hell. We couldn't afford school supplies or other stuff like food, so we lived off other stuff. I'm okay now, and living a happier life. Im just worried about my mother. I haven't experienced a great past, and sure im not the only one. You don't have to like, I just needed to get it out. That was my story, stay safe. x

I don’t have depression. I don’t cry myself to sleep often. I eat regularly and I haven’t had a single thought about killing myself and ending it all. However I know someone who does all that. I know someone who’s depressed, Who cries every night, who barely eats, who has had thoughts of cutting or suicide. She showed me this song and ever since that day every time I hear this song I just can’t not think about her. It puts tears in my eyes and makes my heart melt away. Knowing shes still ok and I’m taking good care of her. Shes 20 hours away and I love her to the moon and back. She knows this. She knows she means everything to me. I swear I cry when listening to this song, I kept getting called a monster, a monster from hell. But my boyfriend would turn it into something that would make me smile. “If you’re a monster, you’re my monster” or “if you’re a monster, you’re my monster. A cute little monster.” During the time I was getting attacked he would stay by my side, when he got rid of my negative thoughts and they came back. He didn’t care, he got rid if them again. He’s like my lighthouse, he is so positive and makes me smile. Even when I would question if he loved me, he answered honestly. He knew I was asking that because of me getting attacked. All of it flooding my head and getting to me, he stayed by my side and gave me comfort.

I had a bud in school who really had rough days, no one understood him, he had a bit of a temper, but no one ever gave him a chance, whatever friends he had either dumped him or had to move. That was until he met me, I indeed saw his monsters and showed him he could trust people. We both had special needs (more or less), but we fought against a world that was rigged against people like us and came out victorious. We still are friends to this day, love this song!
