I always love the videos where you binge read a full series, so I'm really excited for these! Would love to see you tackle all 13 of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles one day... Determined to make my way through them this year but have heard they're such a mixed bag!
The first three are good, the fourth one was fine, after that... things gets very uneven. That said, I haven't read them all, but am not going to, either. I love to reread especially the first one, though!
I got a hot take on the series and it's: if you saw the movie and don't vibe with the first book: there is absolutely no reason to force yourself through Interview with the Vampire. Read The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned to see if you like it. (My personal faves) You can then go to the "biographies" (Marius, Armand and Pandora) and then try from Blackwood Farm onward. That way you are about halfway through the series and can decide whether or not you are hooked enough for the rest.

Golden Age Arc can be divided in many sub arcs which in itself can tell a good story. So you can divide The Golden Arc into 3-4 videos if u want to but you can do it in 2 videos as well, it's just in a constrained time format it will hard to discuss all the different messages and the plot points.
10:00 I watched a video by Kyle Kallgren way back in the day when he was doing video essays on Shakespeare adaptations. He suggested The Lion King wasn't actually based on Hamlet but instead Henry IV. That the story isn't about a revenge plot. Simba didn't even know there was revenge to be sought until Scar told him while they were already trying to kill each other. The story is actually about being king. Simba sings about wanting to be king, Mufasa tells him what it means to be king, nature is out of balance until the return of the rightful king. And Simba grows up around some delightful scamp hedonists, a way of life he has to discard when it's time to take his rightful place as king. It was a really convincing argument, honestly. Though he does undercut that argument at the end by saying Shakespeare tropes are so endemic to our culture that you could argue anything is Shakespeare. And also that Lion King *also* matches the plot of a Mali legend beat for beat. Right down to it being the story of "The Lion King of Mali". And that's not even mentioning the whole "Kimba the White Lion" thing. ... Sorry, I just made that whole "reading the source material for the Lion King" a way more complicated affair, didn't I?
All of these coming videos sound so fun! 🤩I also really like this TBR format so it gets us excited for an entire season of content while also leaving room for surprise videos.

I am so excited for all this! I had to take a bit of a break from here only because of all the One Piece content. I have yet to read it so I can't watch the videos and every time I would be heart broken after being excited for the "new video" notification. I love manga (Bakuman, Yotsuba, Giant Spider and Me, are a few favs) but 95% of the manga content on this channel has been One Piece which is really good for OP lovers out there. I think I'm gonna read OP online and then go back and watch your vids. Anyhoo, can't wait for your spring content! Esp Goosebumps. Always a great time. Cheers!

I high recommend the audiobook for Addie LaRue! The book is very slow-paced but the audiobook definitely helped me from feeling bored and also really brought the lyrical writing to life!! 😊
The last book in The Wheel of Time series, wasn't written by Robert Jordan. He passed away before he finished it, so Brandon Sanderson completed it. Would be interesting to see a first and last book video, discussing what you think. Having two different authors for them would add another level to the video concept. About Taylor Jenkins Read...maybe you just need to go back and read her backlist, rather than picking up her new releases. Have you read One True Loves? If not, you should. I highly recommend!

I will say though that Mulan wasn’t a historical figure; the movie is based on The Ballad of Mulan, which is the oldest surviving version of the ancient Chinese folk tale, written in c.5th/6th century. So, if you can find a decent English translation of that, you could always add that to your list! Also, which version of Beauty & the Beast will you be reading?

Putting aside the several other books I’m currently in the middle of I too need to read Addie La Rue so if there is any public sprints for it I’m happy to join in. I’m not getting bored of V.E Schawb but i am rapidly approaching the point that if I don’t read it soon I won’t read it for the next 10 years. If you decide to do the Wheel of Time series, The Eye of the World (Book 1) is narrated by Rosamund Pike on Audible and she plays one of the main characters in the show. I really enjoy her narrations. Hope you have fun!
Question: For the Beauty and the Beast, Which Version are you going for? Because there's several versions actually. There's Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve's version (the Origonal), Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont's Abridge version, and the Andrew Lang version for the "Blue Book" collection. You may want to also see which version you have of Aladdin because it wasn't origonally from the origonal text of "Arabian Nights", added in by a Frenchman actually. But I know since then there's a lot more verants to this day too. A lot of Fairy tales, with the exception of Hans Christan Anderson (well in some cases the translations of his work sometimes change things), usually have different veriants depending of where they were written and who written them. For example, you have the Grimms Fairy Tale version of Cinderella but then you also have Perrault's version which is a bit more raunchier. But there's also an even older version which the Grimms brothers borrowed which was "Pentamerone" by Giambattista Basile. (>_> there's acutally a whole study of Fairy tales and Folktales and where they come from, and in Collage I found out how very much I was shaped by the much older versions along with Disney)
There is a children’s picture book “Fa Mulan” by Robert D San Souci that i repeatedly read when i was younger. My aspirations were to BE MULAN when i grew up haha. I wonder if you might be interested in that instead of the original poem?
I think reading and reviewing or read along 1 Deluxe Volume per month/2 weeks would be great Like Daniel Greene do with Berserk It's been more than a year now since he re read Berserk (he drop it before but pick it up again last year) and he still at Deluxe Volume 12 Berserk have a lot volume for an arc In this case it's 10-11 volumes for Golden Age Arc One Piece usually only have 3-7 volumes per arc So Just take your time with Berserk 👍
I think with Taylor Jenkins Reid stay away from her hyped books, I have been reading some of her other books just recently and they have been fantastic xx
Oh jeez I know it is so cliché but I just LOVE Hamlet. I know it’s a tragedy but it honestly the funniest of of Shakespeare’s works to me. The “antic disposition” Hamlet puts on is just an excuse for him to be a sassy bitch to everyone and it’s hilarious. The stupid polonius ahh it’s just so good a play full of incompetent people playing at politics/ruling. But also some really great relationship analysis sorry for the monologue but honestly I am so excited for your video. Love to hear people talk about hamlet ❤

The brother does some really shitty things regarding the parents deaths, before it gets spooky.

Are you gonna read the others? The kane chronicles, heroes of olympus, magnus chase and the gods of asgard and Trials of apollo and demigods and magicians, they kinda tie into each other. And there are two new ones, one of percy and one of two characters from the books named Nico and Will.

If you decide to do the Wheel of Time series, The Eye of the World (Book 1) is narrated by Rosamund Pike on Audible and she plays one of the main characters in the show. I really enjoy her narrations. Hope you have fun!
Question: For the Beauty and the Beast, Which Version are you going for? Because there's several versions actually. There's Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve's version (the Origonal), Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont's Abridge version, and the Andrew Lang version for the "Blue Book" collection. You may want to also see which version you have of Aladdin because it wasn't origonally from the origonal text of "Arabian Nights", added in by a Frenchman actually. But I know since then there's a lot more verants to this day too.
A lot of Fairy tales, with the exception of Hans Christan Anderson (well in some cases the translations of his work sometimes change things), usually have different veriants depending of where they were written and who written them. For example, you have the Grimms Fairy Tale version of Cinderella but then you also have Perrault's version which is a bit more raunchier. But there's also an even older version which the Grimms brothers borrowed which was "Pentamerone" by Giambattista Basile. (>_> there's acutally a whole study of Fairy tales and Folktales and where they come from, and in Collage I found out how very much I was shaped by the much older versions along with Disney)
There is a children’s picture book “Fa Mulan” by Robert D San Souci that i repeatedly read when i was younger. My aspirations were to BE MULAN when i grew up haha. I wonder if you might be interested in that instead of the original poem?

Berserk have a lot volume for an arc
In this case it's 10-11 volumes for Golden Age Arc
One Piece usually only have 3-7 volumes per arc
So Just take your time with Berserk 👍

Oh jeez I know it is so cliché but I just LOVE Hamlet. I know it’s a tragedy but it honestly the funniest of of Shakespeare’s works to me. The “antic disposition” Hamlet puts on is just an excuse for him to be a sassy bitch to everyone and it’s hilarious. The stupid polonius ahh it’s just so good a play full of incompetent people playing at politics/ruling. But also some really great relationship analysis sorry for the monologue but honestly I am so excited for your video. Love to hear people talk about hamlet ❤
I did like Malibu Rising and Daisy Jones, but I'm afraid Carrie Soto will not save Taylor Jenkins Reid for you. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.
I gave addie 4 stars I felt it could've been like 100 pages shorter but the writing is beautiful. But as I said it did drag a little bit at times
