I suppose it’s because it’s more difficult to stay on beat with music like that, while a continuous count is easier to follow. Especially with 10,000 people screaming it at you lol

im a vintage cheerleader (early 2000s) and we didn't use the 1-3-5-7 count. i definitely like watching routines with the count as opposed to music, its much easier to break down and see just how hard they're working.

Its one thing to support performers. Its another level when you're competing with them, but you want them to show you their best.
This may be the best example of sportsmanship I've ever seen.

These events are just as competitive as football. They eat breath and sleep for this and so do the onlookers. So this is so awesome and satisfying. A big thanks to the crowd and all the teams.

These girls killed it!! My daughter was a Cheerleader for 5yrs and she was a lift. Every body on that team is a star. Your lifts are only as good as your bases. They were drilled. Their minds and bodies knew what they had to do. They heard the music in their heads. This is a sisterhood. Females supporting each other and lifting each other up! Well done girls!!
