As someone who played this game like 10 times as a kid, it pains me how inefficient he’s being with his fuel. Medium speed, and save the last bar for pitch control, so you can make the most out of everything

Not just the last bar, but all the fuel for pitch control. Engine should be used only in emergency situations. A so upgraded plane that he played at the end should go easily 2000m with every single bar of fuel.
Yeah, seeing tens of meters per second go completely to waste because he had no fuel with which to pull up *hurt* inside.

Can atill play it tho, through flashpoint, heck you can even download your other childhood flash games through there
The nostalgia I get from this game is insane. Days spent in the computer lab on ublocked games upgrading my little plane. Good times man

Well assuming it is miles/s and not meters/s, which would make more sense, but I like your idea too lol

I calculated for meters/second, since miles/sec would mean that it went even faster...
Also, 196.8miles/second would be insane, that would be 1133568km/hr which would be VERY close to 1000 times the speed of sound or 200 times the speed of light.

the person that decided where to throw it was an architect because he went south, then even more south then north-east and then more nonsense. you dont need to go around the world just go straight for it and what country in africa was the third one? that architect really needs to start becomming an engineer
It's Kenya I'm assuming, you can see it says it in the top left on the picture/mural 6:08, but your point still stands as the route is very architectural

the fact that that paper plane went half the speed of sound in the end with out the airframe breaking is such and engineering feat
the way he plays it without steering is amazing
fun fact: most of times paper plane are better having normal or little bit higher weight bc when their light they just loop or go down or just high
if you put pencil in plane in goes really well

and having more weight decrease how much it will be slowed down by drag

World record recorded by Guinness World Records is 88.3m. But 29m is still impossible for me, my best throw is like 4m

I remember this was one of the games my classmates would play on the computer at indoor recess. The rest of us would gather round the computer and see how far the student playing the game could get before indoor recess ended. I think the highest I've seen my classmates get was 222 meters in Paris. We focused on exterior upgrades rather than speed ones, most notably a blue biplane.

Watching this video made me remember the one time I got godly RNG and ended up going the full distance required to get to Santa on day 1. It kept going on so long that I had to actually FORCEFULLY make it end.
Probably worth noting that it was in the 2nd game, not the first.

Instead of playing it on an emulator you can actually play this game on Flashpoint (which contains a lot of flash games that are no longer playable)

My elementary school straight up had a book on how to make paper airplanes of all shapes and sizes. There was a helicopter, a nighthawk, an f-15, there where darts and planes designed to do all kinds of tricks. Safe to say I never returned it. ;)
This game was on one of the very few unblocked game websites you could get to on the middle school internet. I used to play it all the time.
Judging by the wonky flight path, Santa lives in america.
It's either America, Russia, or the submerged city of Atlantis which sunk at the north pole.
There is a North Pole is in Alaska, so this is probably right
It's true, I used to live in Alaska. North pole is a 15 minute or so drive from fairbanks. They have a Santa's workshop, it has a giant Santa statue, reindeer, and everything. If I remember right it's open year round.
I remember you could bug the game by throwing it at a slow speed, it would very slowly keep getting height and distance, I would leave my pc for a few hours to reach some ungodly world record

4:08 You can tell Motorway Matt is a civil and not a mechanical engineer by him not remembering basic kinematics and the power of 45° until 4 minutes in.
Anyways, glad to see him putting his engineering skills to good use. It's not all about fighting the war against architects, sometimes it's about fun and neat projects like delivering letters to Santa via paper airplane.
I was looking forward for you to play this game. Why would you skip the story cutscenes though? This game has a lovely story. I demand you play this again!

BTW: quick hint on the tilting problem: if you're using bluestacks you can make a bind to help with tilting, since that's possible in bluestacks

I miss Flash games and Newgrounds and kongregate. Was such good times to be online before Kong has nearly shut down entirely with their chats and forums gone, at least some things continued like Transformice...
