Doug, Very well done. I tied like that and with thread but also with my olive thread and put a black sharpie to it to give it a different look. Stupid easy to tie and really effective
Great series. I'm always looking for new patterns to try. Not an IPA fan but New Trail does have some refreshing beverages. I love their Oatmeal Stout.
Solarez UV resin is a decent entry level resin. You’ll need a UV light to kick it off, unless you can put em in a window in direct sun. Solarez has all the goodies you’ll need. If you have a local fly shop, they’ll carry it. The ‘loon’ line of stuff is more expensive, and you probably won’t wanna jump up to those until you’re either more proficient in tying (meaning, you won’t be throwing away as many of your boo boo flies) or you are able to add color resins to scuds and some wild flies.
Good stuff @kalikasurf Just to add to that a bit, I use the Solarez Bone Dry and really like it. As was already said, most fly shops should have it. In regards to the UV light, you could probably find a generic UV light online. I do have one from Loon but it is not very good a very cheaply made. I linked a video below from one of the local fly shops here, where he goes into detail on the light he uses. Hope this helps! th-cam.com/video/p_9MveGgzoo/w-d-xo.html
