My 07 has constant daisy chain ignition coil probs causing random stalling at red lights sometimes stalling going dead on me 3-4 times in the space of two blocks!! Random warning lights for servicing and oil change keep blinking and faulty engine warning/brake pads keeps lighting up yet nothing wrong with brakepads🤔🤔🤔handbreak light wont turn off either… my 07 was 10 yrs old when i bought it used but turning into a money pit and now its 17 yrs old but i only had it for 7,,, oh also drivers side floor get soaked easily with water so no idea where water leaking from,,,, despite it all i enjoyed the car but moving onto mazda 2 but mini one was an excellent starter car i got attached to but it keeps needing a mechanic😩😩

Got a 2009 First 1.4,..internet said the engine would blow up around 30,000 miles due to its unreliable nature...just stuck it's first timing chain on it at 145,000 miles... stick chugging along :)

@@Kimbururu was just saying this MINI I had, hadn't had a timing chain since 145k miles. When they are a known weakness on this engine, where some go very early.

Does anybody buying a mini actually give a shit about road noise or the size of the boot?

xXGreyWolf in my opinion the car engine is ALOT quieter than some cars such as a polo as the engine is alot more powerful so you don't hear the biting point and revs as much on low gears

great car when it works, but sadly unreliable. after 4 yrs/39000 miles, our engine cooked itself due to a failed coolant system with no warning. very crappy design flaw, mini/bmw dealer wanted 8k to fit new engine, we told them to fuck off, luckily we had a friend fit a new engine for a LOT less, mini are thieving a-holes and enjoy ripping people off. their customer service is appalling. they don't care. keep a close eye on your cooling system! a water temp gauge is a good idea for this car.

It was your duty to make sure your car has enough coolant. If you look after any a car it will also look after you !

Im tempted with a new mini, 66 plate, but ive read a lot of stuff about reliability issues which concerns me. Ive had a couple of abarth 500s, and I know where I am with them, no problems. Just thought id get something a bit different, but dont think ill risk it.

Simon George if an Abarth will do you fine then I'm sure your good to go lol, mini is a combination of British and German engineering as it is owned by BMW group, it definitely shouldn't let you down. Most cars that are made now a days are very reliable due to better technology and production process. the whole "it's unreliable" gimmick is more of a myth and a 2005 thing to day

Those Prince engines are terrible. Had timing chain replaced and many other bits engine wise, electrics aren't great too. Drinks 1 liter of oil on 2000km, at BMW they say it is normal. Really don't know how that engine back in days was approved for production.
