I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying
People talk about the singer replacement not realizing that no other member of that band played on any of the albums...tom played everything except drums on the first 2 albums....so every player is a replacement..great new singer..owns it
Actually, All the songs on the first album were recorded by Tom in his home studio. Except for Brad's vocals. Brad's song Let Me Take You Home Tonight, was recorded with band members in a West Coast studio.
Brad could never be replaced- NO one can be.. Does it mean these tunes should never be played again..All the lead vocalist that have tried just add a little something each time!!

after reading all these comments all I can say is very few bands are the same live as they are in the studio, i wouldnt have given this video the time of day if it werent for THE AWESOME couple of Boston albums from the seventies...I'm glad to see Tom still carrying on. I'm sure Brad's spirit is floating around when they play this stuff. Long Live Boston!
They sounded great tonight..and David Victor definitely finds the octave above--plus he's an excellent guitarist and performer as well. The harmonies were amazing, it was an amazing performance by all!
I was 15 when this band broke with more than a feeling the whole album blew me away and they are one of the main reasons I picked up the guitar and still play in bands to this day I know the people who are hating on here are not musicians and don't have a clue how ground breaking this music was Tom is a genius building the equip to produce the sounds on guitar he wanted then recording the whole album in his basement all I can say is unreal Brother :-)
I feel you - I saw them in concert around 76, or so (about age 16) and was beyond amazed by the live show sound production achieved in a huge arena. It was spot on to the record, and had a huge influence on my musical path in the way of mixing sound.
?I'd love to see someone nowadays do the work it took him to create their sound. I can tell from the very first second of their song on the radio that it's Boston and have enough time to crank the volume fucking up!
@David Mohr. .....well this song played here doesn't demonstrate all that "Unreal" that you speak of. This rendition is tuned down, the vocals are way tuned down here in parts especially when the lyrics about signing company contracts. Singer's tonality is there but lacks charisma. They pack a stage with at least 6 players instead of 5. It's okay. It's genius Tom's toy but it's not ground breaking the way he tries to replicate the music live anymore. So I do not call that "hate" to point that out. "Fact" is more accurate. Studio sound. Absolutely groundbreaking and different like you say. It's just "Less" of a Feeling" for me these days the way they go about it.
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying
Wooooooooooooohooooooooooo we are going to see them in Nashville May 5, 2017 with Joan Jett... I am so excited... Bringing back some awesome memories...I love the music man and they don't sound bad... Nashville will be rocking...
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying

I live in massachusetts, and it makes the song that much better to hear them mention boston, and hyannis in one of there songs. ive been to both places haha. ROCK IN PEACE Brad.
How many old bands are original today ?? I find it amazing that some one can step up to the plate and allow this band to move forward and still make a living preforming .
This lead singer actually does a very good job on the vocals. I don't get what all the negative comments are about? He of course isn't Brad Delp, but he is a good fit for the new lineup, and does a very good job. In fact, if you don't look at him and just listen, he sounds a lot like BD. You people who criticize, certainly couldn't do nearly as good a job, so you should quit talking so negative. Don't see you up on stage playing in Boston with TS!! Give credit where credit is due. This vocalist is good. Not much of a showman, but his vocals are good. It is sad, the original band lineup is gone, but the music is still good. Not much different than Journey. Their new vocalist is no Steve Perry, but he does a good job on the songs. I wouldn't go see these bands live anymore without there original vocalists, but the replacements in these two cases are decent. Van Halen, was actually better with Sammy Hagar on vocals. There's a case of the replacement singer being better than the original. Rush is still the best, all time, all around, older band on the planet! All original members, and still going strong selling out all over the world. (And yes, I know Neil technically wasn't the original drummer, but everyone with half a brain knows he is a legend and certainly made Rush the success that they became). It was meant to be for them! There's a band that will never replace any members if one left for some reason. It will be a sad day when Rush, decides to retire, although they deserve to sit back and enjoy the fruits of their long success.
I did just that! Kevin, I throw on a pair of phones & closed my eyes!... presto! ... rip Mr Delp... one of the best vocalists in the rock music industry... imo
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying

@Twenty17 Tom Scholtz has been wearing that brace for a long time... I got to see them back in the early 2000s' when Bard was still alive. Tom had the brace on then.
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying

I saw this Tour in Del Mar (front row seat, thank you for asking) Lumber Boy was great! Try for yourself to perform "live" one time and see how things sound for you.....I thought they sounded fantastic. Brad Sweet was still on the tour, He and LB took turns at the Mic and it was great. Phil was churning out the licks and Kimberly was so nice to us, handing us picks and smiles! The whole night was just absolutely fantastic. Whenever they come back to the West Coast, I'll pay for a seat!
Thank you for all your brilliant stuff...means a lot to people like me ,who have been deprived of good classic rock clips...much appreciated!! reply: You're quite welcome! thank you for the kind words and for watching my videos!
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying
People need to remember that the studio versions, Brad Delp sang the song TWICE, he harmonized himself. You can't do that live. So, if anything the backing vocals are off harmony, but the lead singer is nailing his part.
damn right he is.peaple brad was great, but brad overdubbed and stacked his vocals .yes he was great.but dont shit on the guy that is doing a good job in replacment .that is bull
While NOONE can replace Brad Delp, Tommy does ok. This particular song is probably the worst that he sings. The key to his vocals are the ones who are backing him. They compliment each other with style and grace. I will Always miss Brad, just like Boston will always be my favorite Band! Peace out Rock-'N'-Rollers...🤙😎

I had no idea this was yours saskatchawan. this is so cool this song has to do with a very sacred name in the ways of the Native American. The name is Eagle and this song goes right along with it.
I saw Boston at the Boston Garden in 78 when Sammy Hagar opened for them. Great concert and abundance of weed. These guys just don't cut it....not the same energy and intensity.
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying
@kobe4270 Tom Scholz created and has played bass on all Boston recordings. He hired Fran Sheehan to play bass for the earlier live shows only. Then there was David Sikes, now Kimberly Dahme. They all learn and copy the bass lines that Tom created in the studio. Tom Scholz is the mastermind and driving force behind Boston. Hope this answers your question...
I didn't want to like them, but they're actually pretty good. There's only one Brad Delp, and this song is talking about early Boston, but not bad. RIP Brad.
Brad Delp is one of the Greatest Rock Voices of All Time! HE WAS ICONIC!
I wish i could go to a Boston concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Brad Delp was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying
Brad Delp was the voice of Boston and is sorely missed! RIP Brad! You are sorely missed!
No one can replace Brad, but Tommy, you did a damn good job! What a wonderful dream that came true for you! You go Tommy Decarlo!! Enjoy!
As good as Brad was, he wasn't that great. There are plenty of vocalists who are as good or better... The current Boston lead singer is awesome.
People talk about the singer replacement not realizing that no other member of that band played on any of the albums...tom played everything except drums on the first 2 albums....so every player is a replacement..great new singer..owns it
instablaster
I’d go see this line up👍
Amen... As good as Brad was, he wasn't that good.
Actually, All the songs on the first album were recorded by Tom in his home studio. Except for Brad's vocals. Brad's song Let Me Take You Home Tonight, was recorded with band members in a West Coast studio.

What I love about him is in the contracts part, he doesnt try to hit the high notes, he just sang naturally
