    You know, I think Loomer is right in that the artifacts have become so confusing that it's almost not worth it to follow them anymore. The Lead Writers/Creative Directors may very well have a nice reveal/explanation at the end, but until then, I feel like it's almost better to just be invested in the characters at this point.
    But that aside, I think Richard sounds like a wonderful person, who acknowledges when things get a little out of hand and is good-humored enough to not be defensive about it. He seems very grounded and open-minded, and I respect him a lot and thank him for giving us such a great character in so short a story. (I also love Jeffrey Yohalem, Darby McDevitt, and Corey May, but I thought there's a sad lack of love for Mr. Richard Farrese in the comments here.) Whether intentional or not, AC Rogue hit a good balance of being funny and being tragic. XP
    Thank you to both Loomer and Richard for an entertaining and good-natured podcast that dealt with some pretty difficult topics. Really appreciate your guys' time and efforts!

    How funny would it be if the reason Ezio had a heart attack in Embers was because he remembered he forgot to put the artefact back in the box and was like, "F**K!"

    for any person interested: the cut location that richard talks in the cut content part is haiti, he mentions it while talking about the precursor boxes. Sorry for leaking that out Loomer :)

    I know it's been 2 years but I just quickly want to say that I really appreciate how you weren't shy to question certain plot holes and unexplained things. It's incredibly frustrating to hear what Rogue could have been had they given it the appropriate amount of time and effort, but also good to have been addressed with the writers to try to prevent it in the future. So thanks for that!

    i'm sure they would be more than willing to go into connor's future storyline if he was better received by the general fanbase. ok. and connor's life has been nothing but depressing so i don't think saying that his life after ac3 is still sad is a good excuse. i wish they would just be honest about it.

    • @cjware316

      +Minsooky Depressing? Yeah he watched his mother and village burn down right in front of him as an impressionable child... But that fueled him! He helped birth a Nation... He influenced huge persons in history and carved a path for other minorities.. But I guess thats just too depressing for you...Smh.

      Edward was well received but didn't get a trilogy due to Ubisoft making a dumb decision of killing him too early. Even Origins protagonists Bayek and Anya didn't get a sequel.

    Forsaken actually allows plenty of room for additional content. Don't forget there are plenty of gaps in Forsaken that span 5+ years at times.
    The modern Assassin Gabe mentioned is Hannah Mueller (the same assassin that introduced Cross to Bellamy). Rebecca says how Hannah confronted Cross and he killed her. This point in particular was never updated in Hannah's encyclopaedia (2.0 & 3.0) entry: which always annoyed me.

    • @Cafearmuire
      @Cafearmuire 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plus, Forsaken is written by Haytham in his own point of view so it allows the gaps to hide Shay existence.

    I don't understand how Farrese can say that the Precursor Box seen in Embers isn't the same as in Rogue, cause there's clearly hints. A war letter, "The Manilla Galleons", states that Shao Jun's Precursor Box ended up in the West Indies via the Manilla Galleons - then it goes to Adéwalé, then Bastienne, to François Mackandal to Lawrence Washington to the main storyline in Rogue. It all adds up - why suddenly claim that there are more boxes and why was there no clear evidence of this in the game?
    Honestly I wish Farrese was on social media so I could ask him about this. Also, the comic he's talking about regarding the voynich manuscript pages is Brahman.

      +MrTouloir Awww man that'd be sweet! More than anything, I want Arno and Shay to confront one another. "Why Shay?! Why did you kill my father?! WHAT DID HE EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS" It would get pretty emotional, ya know?

    • @restlessentertainment9760

      +Raptorslayer350 Well, it would also be emotional because Arno would be straight up trying to kill a seventy four year old man

    "well we got the wrong voice for Ezio?!, we don't have time to fix that !"
    Lol so true.
    Also, when they started talking about C:China, you can really see how little attention was given to the game regarding plot and story. They really drop the ball. Here's hoping the "brand team" actually takes their time and fix those for Indian and Russia. Also for the love of god, *don't give Arbaaz Mir a posh British accent! *

    Was that "secret" deleted location Haïti ? Because he mentions it at 53:15 like something they wanted to do. Maybe you forgot to cut it out. Anyway, awesome interview, like always ; )

    • @GilCAnjos
      @GilCAnjos 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +TheGiladCastle I think so. That makes a lot of sense. So basically Shay was supposed to be present at the earthquake of Port-au-Prince, and later go to Cap-Français to face Adéwalé and Mackandal

    One thing I really like about Loomer's interviews is that he isn't afraid to ask difficult questions, sometimes relating to things that Ubisoft may have messed up or made a mistake on. These are the things the community really cares about, and they're things that other media outlets would never ask.
    That being said...this is the first interview where I think it was taken way too far. I felt very awkward listening to him harp on the box for such a long time, and some things he said bordered on disrespectful. There were a few other moments in particular where questions felt loaded and too opinionated, as well. I honestly feel bad for Richard after being put on the spot so much, and I really hope this doesn't deter him from doing more podcasts in the future. He seemed to be a good sport about it, at least.
    Loomer, I love your content and everything you do for the community, but I think you really didn't get the balance right this time.

      +Loomer I don't mean to discredit your criticisms in any way, I just don't see the point in exposing and confronting the writer in some of these situations. Thought the interview was super enjoyable and informative otherwise.

      I agree, what do you expect to hear back from a writer when you literally say "I feel like that plot point you did was handled poorly. Why would you have written something so bad"? Or "this story that your colleague wrote is pretty bad. Can you tell us why the guy you have to see in the cubicle next to you every day is bad at their job?
      It doesn't make it better if you giggle awkwardly while they fumble for a way to politely answer that.

    Farrese seems like a solid dude, but some of his excuses are super lame. It's just oversight and bad planning, that end up making the franchise extremely convoluted and confusing.

  • @kbg12ila
    @kbg12ila 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I honestly found the story extremely overrated, if you play the game comparing it with unitys story it looks amazing, however if you compare it to games like AC2 or the last of us it is really bad.

    • @multiversevideogames8618
      @multiversevideogames8618 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +kbg12ila If you compare most video games stories to the Last of Us, they seem pretty shit. Rogue was still a good story!

    • @kbg12ila
      @kbg12ila 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Multiverse Video Games It was a passable story with many flaws. I personally think AC2 is comparable to the last of us. It's not about how deep a story is, it's about how it was told. And AC2 was masterfully told!

    • @multiversevideogames8618
      @multiversevideogames8618 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know, and I agree with you. Except when talking about Rogue, I still think that was a good story!
      In terms of storytelling I still slightly think the Last of Us surpasses Assassin's Creed II, but I think Assassin's Creed had a better story/plot.

    • @kbg12ila
      @kbg12ila 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Multiverse Video Games Well I think it was as good as it. However I still think the story if Rogue is overrated among fans...

    • @multiversevideogames8618
      @multiversevideogames8618 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's overrated as well.
