  • a chapter in Resham Dankh,
about a NOT-BRAINWASHED child who could feel the pain of others. In this case, it was Billu, a pea moth, whom he believed would one day become a butterfly. Unfortunately, Billu accidentally died. The agony of this 5-year old child was so intense that his father, Aditya, began to feel guilty for being the owner of what was then the largest silk manufacturing company in Asia.
That’s how guilt works, he was not the same person he had been just few days earlier. He felt guilty for killing thousands and lakhs of Billus. He feared losing Dev, his innocent child who was his whole life. The pain those silkworms must have felt was now visible on his face, as if someone had placed a mountain of stones on his chest.
Not every reaction was the same; for others, it wad Dev’s immaturity, but for Aditya, it was a burden that had to be lifted.
The company was shut down, and all its silk was burned. A butterfly came and lifted the burden, settling gently on his chest.
