    At that price and for what it is, it makes more sense to buy a drone, like a similar priced DJI model.

    OOYYy daddy! Thats a nice bit of coin right there. Do like the design. 20 mile range, 1 hour flight time.

    I just received one of these from HEQ and it does not meet the time nor the distance specs. It only flies in airplane mode for approximately 18 minutes before it goes into emergency battery voltage mode and forces a landing into trees or whatever happens to be under it and you cannot take control of it once it goes into this mode. It does this with both new batteries even though they fully charge to 17.1V. And this is with only using a very small amount of the battery to quickly climb vertically in copter mode and then switching to airplane mode for the rest of the flight. It is also in very calm and ideal conditions so it should fly for the full 60 minutes which they advertise.
    The other problem is that the DJI FPV system that mine came with does not work further than about 200 meters or 600 feet before it begins pixelating and then around 700 feet completely goes blank even in clear, line-of-sight conditions. I'm way out in the country away from all 5.8GHz interference so there's something wrong with the DJI Air Unit or the DJI Goggles. This combo cost $2,060 (incl shipping) so I'm terribly disappointed in it. I'm currently waiting to hear back from HEQ to see what they'll do to remedy the problems.
    So after months of wrangling with HEQ, they're essentially doing nothing. They said wait for s/w updates which I did and installed and it's even worse. I'm going to take the camera out of it and use it for shotgun target practice.

    is there an HDMI connection on the remote that can be used to get a clean image of the FPV camera?

  • @MichaelPipes101

    Can you create a flight plan to send it point to point and to return home?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pro version comes with a Transmitter/controller that runs the HEQ App. Works very well for FPV flight via the screen but does not have route planning. For that you would need to run the QGroundControl app. It is supposed to be possible but I've not tried it. I suspect it would take effort and a lot of help from the supplier to get the App configured to talk to the H-Wing flight controller.

    Really interesting product. How is the video from the FPV camera? I assume that it is flown via the FPV camera once line of sight is lost? I see the range is 25 miles! How can you fly it that distance and avoid crashes into other aircraft?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 720P so good enough for navigation via FPV. If you want to capture higher resolution video of the journey you need to use a GoPro.

      Thanks for that. Could have gone into a lot more detail. I'll do another vid showing the controller, what you see on it and a few important things to do to ensure success.

    I was just reading the product specs from the link. It reads; Recommended Range 35~40km, Remote Control Distance 3~5km. There seems to be some ambiguity regarding the flying distance.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will fly 35-40km on 1 battery charge but you have to stay within 3 to 5km of the controller.

      Thanks Custard 😎 Indeed crazy. So enjoyed demonstrating this clever bit of tech. If it had collision avoidance it would be perfect. Maybe we will see that in a new version soon.

    A little to price for me. Is the body and wings made out of foam?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      High density foam to keep weight down, yes.

    I just wish they would stop putting limits on altitude because its a problem when flying in the mountains.

    Ever heard of infinity focus lock?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately I'm the experienced camera guy and Jason who was doing me a favour and using the camera isn't confident enough to use manual focus mode. I didn't think the odd loss of focus detracted too much from the video to be honest.

    This thing has crappy h/w and flaky s/w. But go ahead and spend your hard-earned money on it like I did. I'm now contemplating using it for target practice.

      This version flew much better than the most recent Voyager. I've reported back my issues with it and are progressing with fixes. With pan tilt FPV it will be awesome when it flies as well as the Pro in this video.
