  • This is one of the last remaining LPS street lit roads in Essex. It stretches about a mile long with original SOX lamps near the M25 motorway.

    Thanks for uploading this beautiful video. It’s a shame you won’t see something like this in 10 years, but at the very least they’re still standing. Hopefully, this stretch of SOX lighting will be saved from the (dreaded) LED replacements.

    Actually went past the A13 yesterday to see the SOX lights and I can confirm they’re still there burning proudly, although some were dead and others have casually been replaced with LED or second-hand SON. Hopefully, they don’t get replaced anytime soon.

      There is a good stretch of Low pressure SOX on the Manchester outer ring road M60 between Brinnington and Denton which I’m definitely going to film with my drone. According to street view they are still there from 4 months ago.
