That is why the album is called, SWITCH.. lots of things are switched up. The vocals, the tune, the rhythms and vibes esp. Leeseo. It is her 1st time rapping and really fits it. HEYA is about Korean folklore story where a Tiger connects with Moon & the Sun.

So I think I mentioned it on one of your earlier reactions to IVE but if not - I got into IVE basically a year ago (it was after the actual comeback date for I'VE IVE and around end of April / beginning of May I began to fully learn the group).
I AM has been not just my favourite IVE song but favourite song in general and never thought another song could rival it. HEYA is rivaling it. I can't place one over the other though so currently both I AM and HEYA are on an equal first place pedestal. Both have amazing MVs and gorgeous vocals but there are general differences between the two with vocals and rap focus which makes it hard for me to definitely say which track I like more. On that though, with the crescendo on the final bridge, HEYA is absolutely insane and Yujin's "yeahhhhh" is the successor to her "fly up" in I AM and on a grander scale

해야 (Haeya) means "Sun" or "(calling) sun!"
HEYA is based on an original folktale IVE created.
"a tiger who loves the sun"
tells the story of a tiger who is off on a search for the sun, who is hidden in the darkness, metaphorized by IVE
in the opening of the song yujin was holding a pipe and there's a smoke coming out of rei's mouth...
in Korean folk tales instead of “once upon a time” they’d sometimes use “back when tigers used to smoke”
** the idea came from a Korean folktale titled "해와 달이 된 오누이/sun&moon siblings"
