I think the Elvis 'Country' album is my favorite of his. I put this song on repeat. Love it! I've never heard the first version before, but I like it, too. He's great no matter what.
Really enjoying your playing the multiple takes as I am not as familiar with those. I think I liked the original better but truthfully, I loved them both
The first time sounds like he's just playing, second sounds like he got serious. He knew it wouldn't be the final take. Heard this song many times, but not by Elvis. Original for me. If you watch his rehearsals and it sounds good, but you see it on stage, it's refined and really great. You should watch the rehearsal and then the stage performance, both in one video, of 'Twenty days and Twenty nights.' But please, roll it back before you restart. th-cam.com/video/xku_uGQ6WBQ/w-d-xo.html
Take 1 is undubbed and unedited. ( j'adore ❤) The official version is take 8 Master and overdubbed with Strings. Stax Studio - Memphis, Tennessee - Dec. 15/16 1973 Strings overdubs: RCA Studio - Hollywood - Jan. 11 1974 🎶 Merci Rene ! ps: I advise you to listen this version on "Our Memories Of Elvis" (FTD - vol 2) (no backing vocals & no strings) PURE ELVIS 🎶 🇫🇷 TCB ⚡
It's funny... I do not like country!! Makes my ears bleed, however I love Elvis country. He's an exception. I love everything Elvis, but more favorable of original. Enjoying your Elvis content, especially when I need my Elvis fix. Lol TCB ⚡👑🌹
BACK THEN THE GRAND OLE OPREA DIDN'T EXCEPT HIM.... LOOK WHAT THERE DOING NOW. WHY NOT PUT HIM UP THERE WITH THE OTHERS... SO BEUTIFULLY HE DID COUNTRY...🦚🦚🦚
Elvis Country 100%. IMO I think his voice was more suited for Country than Rock n Roll. I like the official version better. Just my opinion, but first take doesn't seem as polished. It seems like he's still trying to figure out some notes etc.
Cliff Richard recorded this song and banned the song from being aired. Because it was about American call girls that's a fact. PS love the song myself never thought it was about call girls never.
Absolutely love Elvis's version of this song .Elvis Absolutely makes it his own .
Always loved this track 🔥🔥🔥
LOVE BOTH ELVIS VOICE GIVES ME CHILLS EVERYTIME❤

Thank you for your video. I prefer the first version. I melt away listening to it even without whiskey.

Official version is my fave
Hard to pick....but if I had to... I'd pick the first....a touch more raw and a touch less polished.
Definitely preferred the official version in this case. Take 1 seemed to have a harsher feel about it.

Nice version but this is an outtake it's not the finished product
