I was reading that Turkey was not doing too well economically and the value of the Lira was falling, prices of goods were rising quite significantly and this was before the invasion of Ukraine. How are you guys finding the cost of living and how are Turkish citizens faring? Any information would be welcome and also this topic could make for an interesting future episode, as a lot of people would be interested in hearing from people on the spot in these affected countries...
Hi Sam, all fuel has tripled in price, imported goods are much more expensive, we are noting prices rising in supermarkets and car hire. Local fruits and vegetables are still affordable and local butchers meats are still reasonable. Pretty sure that the average Turk is feeling the squeeze even though minimum wage has been increased by 50%. Great idea to do a video segment on this topic.
