Allow my inner nerd to peek out. She-Ra was introduced in the film The Secret of the Sword..the Christmas special came much later. Eternia was the planet they lived on, so they all lived there. Eternos was the name of the Royal Palace. The Halved power Sword was only used in the Mini Comics. When the show premired a year after the toys they did away with that and had Adam turn into He-Man. In the original Mini-Comic stories He-Man was a Jungle Barbarian who was tasked by the Goddess ( The Teela Figure is the Goddess) to guard the Halves of the Power Sword. He-Man did not use the sword though, he had an Axe and a Shield (both magic) and a techno-vest that increased his strength and created a force field around him.
Jeff Jacobson I am quite familiar with Blackstar. I own the complete series as well as a mint on card laser light Blackstar. Crowning jewel of my collection. I agree. The halved Power Sword was in the Mini Comics as well as the DC comics that came before the show aired. But the DC Comics did introduce the Idea of Adam changing
into He-Man.

One of my favorite additions was the Talon Fighter. It came with a story book and a record . The early He-Man days were the best.

Wow a 34 year old childhood He-Man fan learned something today. Never knew about the swords forming the key. When I was a kid I always wondered what that hole was for, but I too was like 3-5 when He-Man came out. Still got all of my He-Mans stored, good memories!

I never got into He-man, GI Joe, Transformers, and Thunder Cats back in the day. I liked the Care bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Cabbage Patch Kids and Rainbow Bright back in the day 😁

Back in 8th grade my friend had a party where about 15 of us got drunk on this kids dads beer (who was a Sgt.(w/a K-9)of a police dept) while they were in Myrtle Beach. Long story short this kid had Grayskull,literally ALL the He-Man figures. No bullshit. And tons of G.I Joe figures including the Cobra Command center (forget the name) and the aircraft carrier (also forget name.) But we got drunk kept the dog at bay all night long, and played with the toys. But the kicker was my brother stomped on Grayskull and my friend at the time never let it go. He was devastated. Like a decade later he approached my brother with only one sentence..."you destroyed Grayskull!" Fucking beet red and pissed. Funny but unbelievable at the same time. I haven't spoke to him in nearly 25 yrs.

Mike don't have She-ra, Bionic Six, Silver Hawks or Bravestarr toys? These 80's cartoons were awesome too. He-men and She-ra were my favorite 80's cartoons. This video was a awesome stroll down memory lane. Thanks mike!:)

Masters of the Universe wasn't just an early 80s cartoon and toy, the cartoon was in heavy syndication until the late 80s and was later shown in the late 80s/early 90s on USA Network's Cartoon Express. The toys came out until 1987 which is also when the movie came out
I agree with what Mike says up to a point about He-Man figures, but I'd say the original Star Wars figures started it all.

I just won castle grayskull on Ebay..for $50 bucks complete...only missing the spear and the bird sticker...I'm super stoked can't wait to make a video unboxing...they all go for around 200 bucks...mine with shipping was a total of 102 bucks...coming next week..

@@Pegwarmers yes it does, it's only missing a spear and the little red dragon/bird sticker..all the og cardboard parts are there..I used RetroBlasting as a reference and he man.org...I asked the seller to send me more pics of the typical areas that tend to break easily and he did..nothing broken or loose. I will do an unboxing and give you and retro blasting a shout out...cause you guys have inspired me to start collecting again...like everyone else my parents through out all my old MOTU and it's kinda been bugging me for over 15 years...it's time to bring them home...love your channel by the way and I've been subbed for a while...thank you for your prompt response and much appreciated...Happy New Year and look forward to more videos from you guys..

I had the original he-man when I was akid and my cousin had battle armor he-man in his Motu collection. I liked the battle armor he-man alot better. Then I discovered all the rest of the figures and eventually ended up with a full complete set of vintage figures after 16+ years of collecting. Then I ended up having to sell all of them. Ok I dont have just a favorite figure, but I can name the top 8 if I were to buy back enough to fit in one collectors case or the top 16 if I could have 16 of the 68 pieces back. Heres my top 20:

He was my favorite growing up. Just something about his design. I mean, he didn't really do anything, but he did look cool.
I like Roboto, too. Mainly because he was clear, as you said. I used to make him fight Metalhead all the time.

I pretty much collect toys and retro video games from the 50's to the early 2000's and I have always wanted to collect he man toys and I have the limited edition ones but I have just ordered an original man e faces, I always thought he was so cool so he was my first choice.

How dare you question the authenticity of Mike's vintage Me-Man collection! j/k Mike is holding the vintage Hordak figure in this video. In the cartoon at that same time Hordak looked somewhat different with blue skin. In 2014 Mattel released a Hordak figure painted up to look like he did in the classic cartoon. The Hordak from the Mike Young Series does match the vintage figure color wise, but is hyper-detailed.

oh ^^ well then I stand corrected. just thought it looked somewhat odd compared to what i saw back in the eighties. :)
Yeah, the figure didn't match the animation in the 80's. The Hordak figure was designed as a He-Man Villain, but Filmation used his as a villain for She-Ra and jazzed up his color pallet a bit and added the transformation ability.

My "Man-E-Faces" toy was cheap and broke immediately. It got stuck on the angry face. I always hated him after that.
I never liked that show. I only liked Skeletor because he was a skeleton. "He's basically like a spid0r". Yeah happens when everyone ends with "or". :P

Mike was around when He-Man came out. Some people were ten and others were 3 or 4 but if you had He-Man as a kid you enjoyed him.
