The planet puzzle is actually one of the more ingenious ones, authentic to the time period. I didn't know about the binoculars and that map, but I did reason that in ancient Greece and Egypt, philosphers, astronomers and mathematicians like Aristotle and Ptolemy believed in a geocentric model for our solar system, not a heliocentric one. So I tried to recall from elementary school times which order the planets come in, and how to alterate the model to accord for the Ptolemaic model, and hey presto, it worked. That puzzle was some good shit. Now it's obscure to know all this, but I liked the time when video games taught you this kinda stuff. You can count on the fact that if this game were made today, you would just find a scroll where it says "Ptolemy believed the Earth was at the centre of the solar system, with the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars etc. following." Which isn't much of a puzzle at all, and doesn't really teach you anything because you're not figuring anything out for yourself.
I agree. This is the kind of puzzle my father struggled with for weeks back in the day, especially in the early days of the internet. It's ingenious in the way that, yes, if you're an expert for ancient history, philosophy and astronomy, you can figure this out by yourself. It's still abysmally telegraphed in the way that the in-game hint/solution is obscured by an obtuse secondary puzzle.
This is my personal favorite tomb raider next to TR2. I love the theme a lot and it's so accurate and on point. The open world level design was a bit ahead of its time and kinda confusing but once you pushed passed it you felt a sense of accomplishment. I haven't beat this game as of yet but I am working on getting a copy on the original Playstation. I am debating on playing it for PC but the controls seems a bit wonky for a PC. (I always prefer a controller)
My childhood game and first Tomb Raider ever. That was a real adventure experience in all ways. Level design was epic, game was so hard and scary at the moments. I played other Tomb Raider games later but damn, this one was so unique
I'm currently replaying TLR after rewatching your review and I just wanted to address a couple things I noticed You CAN actually interact with the crowbar with all the weird doors, but it's from the other side. They're used to backtrack from the Catacombs and the Temple of Poseidon back to the Coastal Ruins (which was kind of useless anyway imo). Your point still stands that it's completely counter-intuitive, but they do function all the same way. Also, there IS another instance where you have to jump from rope to rope, but it's on the path you unlock when you lose the game of Senet, so I guess there is indeed an advantage to winning the game. And it's three ropes too, this time. They're positioned in a straight line so technically it should be easier to manage but somehow it's still a pain in the ass to pull off, somehow Lara stops being aligned to the ropes once she grabs one so you have to put her back in the right position every time. Anyway love your videos, strangely there aren't many TH-camrs who talk about classic Tomb Raider so it's really nice. I love popping one of your videos everytime I boot up the PS1 and play one of the first four games
I loved this game after TR3, it felt really focused with only having Egypt, better cutscenes, characters actually moving their mouthes when talking, the tutorial happening in an actual level, the atmospehere, the traps, the train level, the multilevel layouts. It all felt great. Until I reached the City of the dead levels. Those were completely shit, everything is dark, there's tons of backtracking, too many random items, too many puzzles which were far away and with no clear hinting on what to do. That's the point where I had to use a walkthrough for the first time in this game.
When it released I didn't really like it and it felt monotonous with long, similar themed levels. After really giving it a chance and doing a full no cheat playthrough, I changed my opinion and TLR is the most immersive and mysterious, ominous entry in the core franchise for me. It still holds a special place for me :) I actually had none of the logic problems you encountered with the trapdoor, the crowbar door, the turret fuel tanks and so on. I explored those just naturally playing but I can see how one could miss them on first glance. Then again I grew up with playing all the Tomb Raider games right at their release so I was accustomed to the 90s era of sometimes somewhat senseless trial and error puzzle design. I also read the game's manual as one did back then which clearly explains all the new moves.
51:50 This was the ending of my first play. I picked up three keys in mastabas, so when I saw I am missing one and searched everywhere, I concluded the fourth was also in mastabas, which were unreachable at that point. I concluded it's a game breaker and I ended it there. There was no internet at the time :/
30:47 ...How did you not notice that the movable blocks look like planets?! Other than that, great review. I just cannot comprehend how you managed to miss that.
25:32 You probably already know this, but fall damage also works against skellys. You just need to bait them into jumping a gap, and usually one shotgun shot to the ribs does the trick.
Uh no actually. once i learned bullets were a no and explosions were a no i stopped experimenting. part of why im slowing down reviews until im more thorough
@@TheGameStatistic No worries though. I actually found this out on my second to last playthrough of TLR, 2 years ago. I just really love how this game has a gimmick for most enemies instead of the just "shoot it until dead" approach of TR2
@@TheGameStatistic You can also shoot them in the head with the laser sight (revolver/crossbow). Not that I recommend doing it, but it's hilarious to see headless skeletons running around aimlessly.
The only classic TR I haven't finished, even TR3 didn't left me dumbfounded as to what the hell I had to do though it felt like a chore many times. You can tell Core Design got really tired and burned after TR2 so the level design suffered
I was one of the poor fuckers in the Lost Library who didn't realise you could look up that shaft. Also, I encountered a game breaking bug in Under the Sphinx where the blocks wouldn't reset after each room. Jankey, but still a really enjoyable game
Wow. I thought it would be a fast review then i checked the video at 8 minutes and realised it's 57mins long... this is my favorite TR game, so i will watch the whole thing anyway, nice job.
I've finished this game at least 20 times in my life, I know it off by heart but I STILL never understand the water skin puzzle in the last level 🤣 I always need to check a walkthrough because I just can't get my head around the mathematics of it, I'm so dyslexic with numbers 🤣🤣
13:28 that bug is easily fixed by letting go of the climb button and quickly pressing it again and push Lara up without having her feet on the wall. Lara sometimes needs to in the shimmy position, not the climbing action, to get into small spaces.
smidget whittington the problem isn't that they're bad games, the problem is that they are bad Tomb Raider games. Maybe if they did something else like have you play as her father for this new series as kind of a prequel then continue where Underworld left off for Lara's story.
yeah that would be cool, they also feel seriously easy putting white paint on all climbable surfaces and shit.... its fucking impossible to get lost in those games.
On PC back in the day could not complete the race when training with Von Croy. Always got stuck as could not clear a jump mid-section - ever (forget which; so long ago). Failed at least 12 times - then gave up; either me, a bug or the PC was too slow. Did go back a few months later but problem remained so gave up :(
i realise now that i did the solar system puzzle without looking up to use the binoculars - i think most of them are recognisable - like the sun and moon are pretty obvious
You do a really good job on these reviews. Is this all your gameplay? Tomb raider Last Revelation has a lot of great memories for me. One of my favorite games of all time & TRs. Unfortunately, a few of the sections in this game are frustrating like you said. I beat the the first half of this game (up to city of the dead) like half a dozen times or more, but only beat the full game once as a kid. I'd always quit when getting to city of the dead section cause I'd get confused and frustrated. But I finally beat this game using walkthroughs online a second time last summer. Might have to give this game a go again & maybe get all or more secrets. Love the atmosphere and Egypt setting in this game. It was the game that made me a tomb raider fan for life. I just wish certain parts of the game were not frustrating. The underwater puzzle in the sphinx WAS BULLCRAP! Btw I think I had that torch glitch in the later pyramid levels.
Yup. captured the full play through before making the review. The first half is the more inviting half. But the whole thing has puzzle missteps here and there unfortunately.
You can climb up by those cogs at 28.33 without taking damage. You have to climb the pole until you are just under the cog. Then at the moment the cog is in the far left corner from Lara crawl up one space then immediatley jumb back onto the above platform.
the puzzle with the 4 levers and the 2 tombs that open beneath( in the citadel area, i think) , the solution is in the top of the church , there are symbols that match with numbers ..and the tombs have symbols engraved on them...but u already know this already
Its interesting though, because interviews in 99 indicated that Lara would have a notebook, where she jot down her progress and hints. The binoculars had more use and would had been able to combine a flashlight with a gun. It is a shame that these concepts never made it in, probably because of deadlines.
48:37 This puzzle, at least for the first hole you fist, is that the letter has to match up with which number of the alphabet it corresponds to. The F hieroglyphic is the 6th one which is the only one that makes sense, hence why it works.
@ 25:00 In the Tomb of Semerkhet, if you lose the game of Egyptian Chess(Senet) you are introduced to the immortal spirits AND have to jump rope to rope.
I can't believe that back in the late 90's I completed this game without going through any walkthrough. Clearly I had a lot of time back then to trial and error my way through these esoteric puzzles..😊. But this was hands down my favorite TR game just for the tomb raiding vibe that this game has in spades.
WAIT, Lara has a bow in Tomb Raider 4 a BOW! I've been pissed about the thing since it was introduced in the reboots and here it is in TR4... wait this one looks cooler and blows shit up. I think I'm more madder that my dual pistols have been excluded from the current games more though i mean shit just put em in there SIGH!
With this one I have a love-hate kind of relation. I love some levels and hate others (like the buggy car chase, but I play the PSX version, so maybe that's why). Great video as always, but why streched widescreen? Improper aspect ratio looks awful.
As far as I remember, the native implementation of 16:9 resolutions in these PC games is just a shoddy stretching job. It's nothing to do with you, it's what Core did. There are patches online, though, that will give you the proper 16:9 without stretching and it looks way better! Not sure if you're interested in it for your future reviews, sorry to tell you so late into the project when you're nearing the end of Gen1 tomb raider!
It seems that at times when the designers ran out of ideas they just added a large hole for Lara to cross. This game is definitely the most boring of the series. I like the Eqyptian setting (TR1 nostalgia), but only being in Egypt is dull. Also, why does Seth (the snake god) look like Anubis (the jackal)?
Bozpot Seth isn’t the snake god that’s Apep. Seth’s animal is the Typhonic beast which unlike the other totemic animals it is unclear exactly what it is supposed to be. Theories include a saluki, a giraffe, an aardvark, a donkey, or a jackal like Anubis (his son after all)
i think if they could make a remake just as it was done with resident evil two reducing the levels but keepin the story , i see that it might be very enjoyable for seek of fans ! tomb raider 2 also , the floatin islands was a mess but the story was enjoyable , again a remake would far be great than the TR 2013 !
nice video MAN! such a breath of fresh air watching this video right after tomb raider's 5 review, your zombie voice wasn't doing it for me MAN! jk, excelent video
Tomb Raider 2 was probably not ideal and it stept toward more action adventure, but personally that is my favorite Tomb Raider. You could really feel the climate, on your own, in pursuit, outcasted.
I dont know why so much hate towards TR3, it is my favorite one. I didn't find it that hard to be honest, and I really enjoy playing it. Loved the story and loved look of levels they were beautiful. TR1 is second place for me, TRC third, and TR2 and TRLR are my list favorites. I also finished all games without walktrough, didnt have internet or PC back than, and didn't understand single word of English, and managed to solve all those puzzles pretty quickly. I guess younger generation dont like to use brain much.
What a great review! Personally, I hate this game. This is the only Tomb Raider game I have never finished without cheating. I just hate the level design and that they changed the save system on the Playstation (I loved the fact that you can choose any level after you beat it in the first 3 games). In contrast to your opinion, I love Tomb Raider III and it still is my favourite (except the London levels, fuck Lud's Gate and Aldwych).
G From I just finished this game without a walkthrough at all and while it took me some time to do it but I had a blast from start to finish, I can see why some people hate it, especially with the backtracking between levels and a lot of hidden areas that are required to continue, I did find myself stumped at times and had to rely on trial and error but still I had fun and I do respect your opinion sir :)
yeah there are too many puzzles, you cannot move freely without solving something, the best parts of Tomb raider are the big open spaces, where you can run and enjoy the moves, because you know, you could have played Resident evil if you wanted tons of puzzles and stiff character model
I’m playing it now. I’m at the part where you need to open those floor panels, and had no idea you could actually get Lara to do it. It’s one long game. I didn’t even realize I’m only about halfway through. I beat all the other TR games as a child, but not this one.
huh, In the playstation version, the boss banging the ground doesn't make you fall of ladders. The PC version looks far better than the playstation version and considerably harder due to small mechanical changes. I think it is safe to say I'll stick the ps version, since I've been struggling to complete it for about a year
***** lmao ok then. tbh, I find this model graphically pleasing, but anatomically it is much more disproportionate, smaller shoulders, skinnier waist and much bigger breasts. In the older games, she looked skinnier but that is due probably to limited graphical technology. They also removed her muscles in this one. But her hair and textures and movements are beautiful
Nice review, yar the library planet moving was a bitch to do untill we cheated and bought the guidebook. When i was about 10 me and three others got to the part where you find the wounded soldier before meeting the crazy dragon thing. I'm kind of glad we didn't make it as far as the water maze though. that drop down claw in chronicles was really scarry i remember :)
The Game Statistic it's all good,I discovered this move in tomb raider 3 by accident. As you have said in many occasions they are horrible at explaining Lara's moves and telegraphing things.
What? Gay shit? Dude, just because people still use gay as term to describe negative shit it doesn't mean they're immature. I'm sure most people doing that are 100% ok with you sucking as much 🌽 right out of your 🌽hole as you wish 👍. Chill out.
In each part of the game it feels like you basically have to do a whole bunch of stuff to get to a new area, that's what it's all about. Great game though.
I don't know what I find most entertaining - the captain obvious vs Sherlock Holmes analysis of how any video game works, or the bashing of a game followed by "great game though" as some kind of "no homo" thing 😂.
I guess it was always the beauty of tomb raider in an evil way. You could never decide on a favourite because they all have their flaws, none are perfect. First 4 games are the best haha. Chronicles was rushed and darkness just didn't really work. Had its moments but the peak of tomb raider is in the 1st 4. If tr3 didn't have all those issues it could of been rated the best but then the same can be said for 4
I agree on chronicles, but this was designated to be bad as the developers even didn't want to make it all. I kind of disagree on AoD. It was a cool concept which was rushed and fucked up by Eidos. If they would have had enough time, they likely would have created a pretty cool and fun game. I really hated that eidos pulled the series from their creators, for just one really bad game. If we watch the released Anniversary edition content these days, we can really see how much core could have done with lara in the years following.
@@DieParan00bs yeah it really sad when that happens. It happens in music as well, certain members leave the band and it's never the same. The tomb raiders of late are awesome but the old school ones were so unique, no one was doing it like that at the time. So many games nowadays have so many similarities
@@johanburger6109 If you look at the recent games standing for themselves they are fun, but in the context of the franchise its just not tomb raider. Tbh I don't see the point in a TR where it is just an optional gimmick to raid tombs :D The main path of the game is just a carbon copy of uncharted with a few badly implemented RPG elements in it. I love your reviews but that floor panel rant in the Lost Library was bollocks 🤣 Who tf (as you showed) would stand next to a thing they thought they could use the crowbar on and manually look for it in their inventory? You just press action and if she can use the crowbar the menu opens. So if you pressed action next to the floor panel looking for the crowbar she would just open it, problem solved. You were just looking for problems there 🤣 I refuse to believe someone who played the previous 3 Tomb Raiders so in depth wouldn't know you just press action next to an interactable and the menu opens automatically to what you might need. Other than that, fabulous review ❤
I tried it at the other angle. Not Lara facing the slope but Lara facing the wall. Then i believe i didn't activate the panel at the correct spot. I wasn't looking for a problem i just ran into one. Believe me there's waaaaaay more i run into that i never mention in review since i mostly come to the conclusion that "it's my fault". This was one of those ones were i landed on the game being more so obtuse. Panels like that are something i typically flip a switch or a lever to open in Tomb Raider, not just open. Once you're past this one you keep an eye out for it, but that first one after no other game asking you to do that...Had to mention it. Appreciate the feedback!

See that's interesting. but not common knowledge or telegraphed well. But it's cool that it lines up that way.
I'm currently replaying TLR after rewatching your review and I just wanted to address a couple things I noticed
You CAN actually interact with the crowbar with all the weird doors, but it's from the other side.
I played this game for years and could not beat it without a guide.
My Grandad introduced me to Tomb Raider IV on his Windows 98. I'm very grateful that I'll get to show him the remaster 🎉
Gotta love Jonell's voice
This is my favorite TR game. :)
I'm not sure which is my ultimate favorite. It's always between this one and TR2.
Everyones favorite I want to love this game but it makes it hard for me
I loved this game after TR3, it felt really focused with only having Egypt, better cutscenes, characters actually moving their mouthes when talking, the tutorial happening in an actual level, the atmospehere, the traps, the train level, the multilevel layouts. It all felt great. Until I reached the City of the dead levels. Those were completely shit, everything is dark, there's tons of backtracking, too many random items, too many puzzles which were far away and with no clear hinting on what to do. That's the point where I had to use a walkthrough for the first time in this game.
i like a challenge. i thought city of the dead was the best part, apart from those machine gun turrets. they were shit
When it released I didn't really like it and it felt monotonous with long, similar themed levels. After really giving it a chance and doing a full no cheat playthrough, I changed my opinion and TLR is the most immersive and mysterious, ominous entry in the core franchise for me. It still holds a special place for me :)
I actually had none of the logic problems you encountered with the trapdoor, the crowbar door, the turret fuel tanks and so on.
There was no internet at the time :/
Me too so I raped my cat
No internet in 1999? Uuhm.
there was internet, for a number of years. I still remember the first walkthroughs of TR4. You must missed them.
@@Gonken88 it was still very scarcely available.
@@orbitalchiller Everybody who had a regular phone line had access to it...
Your videos are great. Strong Matthewmatosis and RLM vibes with your own spices thrown in.
Gamefaqs. It's a thing.
I was one of the poor fuckers in the Lost Library who didn't realise you could look up that shaft. Also, I encountered a game breaking bug in Under the Sphinx where the blocks wouldn't reset after each room. Jankey, but still a really enjoyable game
Light Everything Young Hearts a moment of silence for our fallen comrade
The Game Statistic i was on ps1 so managed to get through it with some cheats. The review was great, keep up the great work!
Thanks for reminding me Fitzthistlewits is still dead with that one chess bit.
So far the only person that got the reference.
Wow. I thought it would be a fast review then i checked the video at 8 minutes and realised it's 57mins long... this is my favorite TR game, so i will watch the whole thing anyway, nice job.
Fun fact: Joby Wood made the Giza levels so you can't complain about TR3 level designers there!
I've finished this game at least 20 times in my life, I know it off by heart but I STILL never understand the water skin puzzle in the last level 🤣 I always need to check a walkthrough because I just can't get my head around the mathematics of it, I'm so dyslexic with numbers 🤣🤣
one of my favourite classic games and on ps1 and on pc and loved playing the Dreamcast version
13:28 that bug is easily fixed by letting go of the climb button and quickly pressing it again and push Lara up without having her feet on the wall. Lara sometimes needs to in the shimmy position, not the climbing action, to get into small spaces.
(Yes it's been corrected like 80 times, read the comments next time)
does the new next-gen Tomb Raider Series have supernatural elements like the old ones?
Stoni41 yes..... But not as cool
yeah, and to be fair they are not bad games, the first is better than the second of the new ones but they don't really feel like tomb raider
smidget whittington the problem isn't that they're bad games, the problem is that they are bad Tomb Raider games. Maybe if they did something else like have you play as her father for this new series as kind of a prequel then continue where Underworld left off for Lara's story.
yeah that would be cool, they also feel seriously easy putting white paint on all climbable surfaces and shit.... its fucking impossible to get lost in those games.
I know I finished this game when I was a kid. Now that I've watched this review, I have no fucking idea how I did it back then.
On PC back in the day could not complete the race when training with Von Croy. Always got stuck as could not clear a jump mid-section - ever (forget which; so long ago). Failed at least 12 times - then gave up; either me, a bug or the PC was too slow. Did go back a few months later but problem remained so gave up :(
I remember getting this for Christmas and I had such a blast playing that day 😊
i realise now that i did the solar system puzzle without looking up to use the binoculars - i think most of them are recognisable - like the sun and moon are pretty obvious
I always thought Werner Von Croy loomed like Max Von Sydow.
You can climb up by those cogs at 28.33 without taking damage. You have to climb the pole until you are just under the cog. Then at the moment the cog is in the far left corner from Lara crawl up one space then immediatley jumb back onto the above platform.
27:07-27:56 absolutely kills me every time haha great review man. 😆
the puzzle with the 4 levers and the 2 tombs that open beneath( in the citadel area, i think) , the solution is in the top of the church , there are symbols that match with numbers ..and the tombs have symbols engraved on them...but u already know this already
Loved this game back in the day. Thank you for this upload. Brought back some good memories.
I'm 90% sure the poison mechanic was introduced in Tomb Raider 3.
Also in the tutorial level.
And those black scorpions in Karnak.
@ 25:00 In the Tomb of Semerkhet, if you lose the game of Egyptian Chess(Senet) you are introduced to the immortal spirits AND have to jump rope to rope.
Ive completed this game and I never knew about that map 31:15 or the fire serpent scroll. lol
I can't believe that back in the late 90's I completed this game without going through any walkthrough.
Clearly I had a lot of time back then to trial and error my way through these esoteric puzzles..😊.
But this was hands down my favorite TR game just for the tomb raiding vibe that this game has in spades.
whoa. I got this for christmas when it was brand new! I totally forgot this!
I'm 5 years late, but the one in this game is a crossbow, unlike the bow in 2013 onwards
With this one I have a love-hate kind of relation. I love some levels and hate others (like the buggy car chase, but I play the PSX version, so maybe that's why). Great video as always, but why streched widescreen? Improper aspect ratio looks awful.
the game resolution is the pc's 1920x1080. no idea what youre talking about.
It's streched horizontally. Look how wide Lara is.
nigga im too drunk for this
As far as I remember, the native implementation of 16:9 resolutions in these PC games is just a shoddy stretching job. It's nothing to do with you, it's what Core did. There are patches online, though, that will give you the proper 16:9 without stretching and it looks way better! Not sure if you're interested in it for your future reviews, sorry to tell you so late into the project when you're nearing the end of Gen1 tomb raider!
Srsly? wow i had no idea. Chronicles is already fully recorded too >
Senet is possably the first board game ever made and i think it's actually a cool addition
For some reason the cutscene designers couldn't settle for Colt Deltas or Desert eagles in this game
One of the best Tomb Raider games. The only thing I didn't like about is that dead bodies disappear
Theories include a saluki, a giraffe, an aardvark, a donkey, or a jackal like Anubis (his son after all)
You're missing out if you think this is boring.
i think if they could make a remake just as it was done with resident evil two reducing the levels but keepin the story , i see that it might be very enjoyable for seek of fans ! tomb raider 2 also , the floatin islands was a mess but the story was enjoyable , again a remake would far be great than the TR 2013 !
This is the hardest tomb raider game.
22:20 in this part one explosive arrow destroys all the targets
Amazing review, honest and funny. I subscribed to your channel.
Thanks!
nice video MAN! such a breath of fresh air watching this video right after tomb raider's 5 review, your zombie voice wasn't doing it for me MAN! jk, excelent video
54:24 - 56:16 great summary. It’s like the first time someone said truth about TR 1-4.
Tomb Raider 2 was probably not ideal and it stept toward more action adventure, but personally that is my favorite Tomb Raider. You could really feel the climate, on your own, in pursuit, outcasted.
I know it's useless to comment now but
The boss with the hammer Can be bypassed if you try to climb the wall hanging only by the hands

God i love your content
I think we might have watched the same chess review...
youre like the 2nd person to get the reference
Is that snake eater music at the end!? It is I can tell
You were most likely a kid when you first played Tomb Raider 3. Tomb Raider 3 is a bad sequel.
Also curious to hear your thoughts on the 2 isometric games..
I can only take so much punishment
Excellent thorough review, thanks
20:27 How the npcs look more real than Laura
This was the greatest one in my opinion 💯 I loved it my FAV!!!
I’m playing it now. I’m at the part where you need to open those floor panels, and had no idea you could actually get Lara to do it. It’s one long game. I didn’t even realize I’m only about halfway through. I beat all the other TR games as a child, but not this one.
how the heck did i manage to complete the dark city when i was young
Only logically conclusion. you're god
Yay, finished this twice now. Has Ana stopped yelling? 😁
Im curious to hear your opinion on the uncharted 4 spinoff: zoey raider
Not a fan of any of them.
Did you installed any mods or patch to get such a clean render of the game ?
REMAKE PLEASE!!!!!
I was one of those assholes who dragged the blocks around trial and error style.
I'm hoping to god we get an angel of darkness review
In the works. but moving around a ton isn't helping the progress.
Oh, that awesome! Binged all your tomb raider reviews today while doing laundry. It twas a great pass time :)
The Game Statistic, I can't blame you for taking your time with AoD... it's not a game Man was meant to play...
A Croft i made amazing progress on it today. went from stage 1 - 14 in a day. and theres only 19 stages. granted it was a painful 14 stages to play
Awesome! Have fun while doing the review. Cant wait for it!
"bust size" looks the same
Come on The Game Statistic :P
This was your favourite Tomb Raider game right? :P
Its up there.
Keep it up with the good work friend! :P
You use some lovely eloquent vocabulary =]
huh, In the playstation version, the boss banging the ground doesn't make you fall of ladders. The PC version looks far better than the playstation version and considerably harder due to small mechanical changes. I think it is safe to say I'll stick the ps version, since I've been struggling to complete it for about a year
***** I don't think there is a difference in number of levels and level sizes, but I've never played the PC version so I'm not 100% sure
***** as for graphics, yeah there isn't much difference, only difference in lighting in some areas i think
***** I prefer her face in angel of darkness or tomb raider three/two
***** I thought she did in 4 and 5. not so much 2 and 3, unless you count her cutscene model
I don't think those are tears in the side of her shirt. I think she is wearing a one piece bathing suit under her cargo shorts.
Nice review, yar the library planet moving was a bitch to do untill we cheated and bought the guidebook. When i was about 10 me and three others got to the part where you find the wounded soldier before meeting the crazy dragon thing. I'm kind of glad we didn't make it as far as the water maze though. that drop down claw in chronicles was really scarry i remember :)
that chess thing its actually knows to be some of the oldest games ever.. :)
13:38 is not a bug,you have to let go and inmediatly grab again so she looses her footing, then you can climb up,she does get the secret
George L Croft already pointed out and noted. but thanks for looking out man.
The Game Statistic my bad,I wasn't sure if you knew,I scrolled through some comments to see if anyone else had told you but I didn't see any 😅
George L Croft they did. yall love pointing out mistakes. as you should. i have a lot of prep time i should be checking my shit
The Game Statistic it's all good,I discovered this move in tomb raider 3 by accident. As you have said in many occasions they are horrible at explaining Lara's moves and telegraphing things.
Really enjoying rewatching these video but bro I hope you've grown up from comments like 18:34 😬😬😬
What?
Great game though.
.... Isn't that basically what all games are?
Yup, and yesterday today was tomorrow...
And yes, many games feel the same nowadays. I really miss the days of my childhood (late 90s early 00s) when nearly every game was a surprise and felt totally unique.
@@DieParan00bs yeah exactly but I also don't want to Diss the franchise because any tr is better than no tr. New stuff isn't bad it's there was something really special back in the day. You just need the right vision and it can open doors. I'm sure we will have something epic but I don't know how long it will take.
The underwater maze is the absolute worst puzzle in the entire classic series IMO.
"Once Lara is able to get off the pinball table and put her pants on." Oh so that's the reference we're going for.
😂
Love your TR reviews! How do you record game play footage?
Just Nvidia Shadowplay.
@@TheGameStatistic Fair enough, that explains a lot!!! Anyway I love your reviews and I watch them when I am hungover, somehow you soothe my alcohol induced anxiety 😁
