    Small tip. When you place the bottle upside down, poke a hole on the bottom of the bottle, and the motor honey will extract faster.

    I just bought a truck a few months ago and not long after i got it I noticed thick white smoke coming out the exhaust when I started it up. So I took it to the shop and they told me it was a cracked head gasket so I figured I minus well try that blue devil head gasket sealer but it still smoked every time I started it up. I drove it around for about a month back and forth to work and same results. Then I noticed I was losing oil so I tried this product only because they were out of everything thing else and surprisingly it worked!

    When oil starts passing the rings it gets on top of the piston and burns off during combustion and the smoke is vented out the tailpipe along with the rest of the stuff . So while you're sitting there burning oil you're destroying your catalytic converter and you are gumming up your exhaust valves .

    • @jessez5536
      @jessez5536 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To: Dr. Westside... Not necessarily, When a car smokes it's not always the rings or pistons, it could actually be the head, some foreign and Japanese motors have rubber seals located inside the head that make the vehicle smoke do to high mileage and wear and tear over time, however they do make additives to swell up the gaskets seals and Prevent the car from smoking.

      @MRworldEtIkA 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      correct information, but it's not the rings that's gone bad, it's the valve stems' rubbers. these additives swells up those rubbers by microns thick, it's a temporary fix

      How many miles does your towncar have. I used to drive them aa taxis way back when. The repair shops would use 5w20 on brand new lincolns,fords, ans mercs. When the cars reach say 175,000 miles, all repair garages would put 10w40. Then again, taxicabs woule average 1200 miles a week. So every 2 weeks, had to get oil change. Keep that 10w40 in motor for 6 months, itll turn into tar.
      So i think, you could get away with 10w40, only if using it as taxi, because the oils gonna be changed atleast twice a month. On my personal grand marquis , 60k. Only 5w20, and motorcraft filter. On my 2000 grand merc, its pushing near 200k, ill put 5w30, or even 10w30. My 1989 grand merc, ill put in anything.
      The only oils i avoid are synthetic. Never used it, therefore, dont trust it.

    Having read the instructions on how to use this product you did not mention that you should at least Keep the Engine running in idle so as to get the Engine warmed up : The purpose of this is when the Bardahl No Smoke is poured down into the Engine that the thick liquid kind of Melts or softens due to the Heat of the Engine; There is also something else worth mentioning and that is check the dipstick to see if the Oil Level is not going to overflow when the No Smoke is applied ! Another thing if the Oil within the engine has exceeded recommended Mileage for an oil change and filter change change the oil and then use the No Smoke ; It's also worth mentioning that Dirty oil is the Culprit that causes Problems with the Valves getting sooted up where Carbon within the Dirty oil is like an abrasive and causes the Valves to loose compression; but of course Buying a Used car where the previous owner did not care a damn No smoke could be the Helpful thing

      agreed , but my car had valve stem seal issues so this did calm the smoke down, but when you change the oil its back to normal smoking only when the car idles in the summer vs the winter it did not happen

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah thats what the direction say BUT either or ( to me ) Its just a THICK additive so they want to cover there ass ( thats all ) some people live in a cold area or some cars run close tolerance ( engine wise ) so its best to warm the car up thats all.... Old Acura will be good..

      I used the oil thickeners in a '90 Civic 1.5 , no Vtec .
      This was my first car and I tried to improve it by switching to synthetic for the first time but most of it leaked out or burned off , there was less than a quart on the next oil change and it was very dark.
      From then on I stick to conventional in old high mileage cars and change it more often to keep it clean. I do use the STP & Lucas treatments on cars without the VVT , cam phasing, etc.
      I prefer the STP mainly due to cost
      $3.84 the last time I bought it compared to $6-$9 for the quart of Lucas , I Oreiley's has a store brand product just under $3.
      I've seen proof of the stuff working on the "project farm" channel .

    5w20 is for new or rebuilt engines. A high milleage engine lets say 150 000 milles or more will burn 5w20 because 5w20 is like water. 10w40 is better for high milles engines.

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      True Edvin , but this 4.6 they made everything close ( rings to piston to cylinder wall ) and bearings to.. So when you rebuild these at home you MUST know what you are doing... Unlike old engines ( many ) that take 10w are made not so close...302 Ford for example you can rebuild it ( not even in spec ) in many cases and it will run very well.. Not this 4.6 when they are done they are done..

    • @Dr.Westside
      @Dr.Westside 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not change the viscosity of engine oil just because it has a hundred thousand miles on it . Oil journals are small in the pressure that supplied through them needs to stay consistent . I will say your logic is sound for older pre computer-controlled engines .

The filter was the issue with the bad oil, but soon in a about a week it knocked on start up again.. So the oil broke down ( i am guessing ).. @Dr.Westside 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Look this stuff is a bandaid at best . Don't be a bum , just pull the Pistons and change your rings . Change your head gaskets and main bearings while you're at it . You could have a good reliable engine that with regular maintenance will get a couple hundred thousand miles easily that you don't have to keep wasting money on for just a little bit of effort .
    if you don't know how to do it I suggest you get a Haynes manual and learn or take it to somebody who does know how to do it .
    Truth be told you should only use this stull in sling lubricated engines as it will clog the journals in your typical car engines . the added viscosity also puts a huge strain on your oil pump .
    A good set of moly rings cost about 40 bucks . In reality using that stuff in a car does a lot more harm than good .
    I'm not trying to be a hard-ass but after 25 years of working on cars I've seen a lot of people use products like this and over time it makes things so much worse .
    Essentially you could go from something fairly easy to fix to needing an entirely new ( or new to you ) engine . Your choice .

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      oil burning ( like going low ) maybe not its really to reduce the smoke... If you have a Camry and its smoking ( they normally dont ) well you can try a thinker oil grade and this BUT depending where you live ( cold or warm ) cold weather isnt to good for thicker oil.. you have to wait til it warms up... This one is trial and era.. Nothing can help worn rings,,, Check pvc on the engine and try that also..

      Valve guides and seals are probably gone at start up as the oil drains past the seals then down between the valve stem and guide after it sits and pools in the combustion chamber then burned off on start up . Best to pull the heads and either have the guides replaced or knurled then some new seals preferably umbrella seals if possible and that should take care of it depending on how good of compression it has or a leak down test done to see how week the rings are or how good the valve seats are sealing !
