The very first words of this song is "This is no game." Which is very spot on with the motif of this movie. There are a few other choice lyrics which also fit perfectly with the movie. The Running Man was a movie that was very ahead of its time, it predicted the future a lot better than some other movies from that era. In fact one of the earliest predictions that came true was the Gladiators game show that came on (in different formats around the world) where contestants would challenge lycra Spandex wearing fighters.

Thanks for posting this version of this amazing song! 👍👍👍 I'm at a loss as to why it wasn't a massive hit. Back in the day, I used to replay over and over the end credits from my VHS recording of the movie just to listen to this song.
hyun ahn I'm surprised I couldn't find it, especially with the film's cult following. This extended mix came off a 1988 vinyl from the U.K. but I believe it was only released on this vinyl, and 2 cds the same year.
The extended mix has actually been re-released, albeit not in the best form I'd have wanted to see it... Parr's 2011 album "Letter to America" features a fake live version of Restless Heart (th-cam.com/video/McOQPDDk1Vk/w-d-xo.html), which is actually this very same 12" mix. Well, not exactly, the two versions differ in length by a few seconds and many effects and guitar fills have been added to the 2011 release. If you can stand the fake crowd sounds, this version is very fun to listen to.
@@GTHelkaan thanks for the tip! I've been searching for a version of this song with an ending, as the fade-out at the end of the studio versions drives me crazy. The cheesy "live" effects don't bother me; I think it fits very well with the earnestness and energy that makes this song so charming. Cheers!
I watched it recently. How very prophetic... "you don't have a travel pass...."
More truth in movies than in news.
Hey Killian!!!
Here is Subzero... Now PLAIN ZERO!!!!
Probably the best line of that whole movie!! And there’s many to choose from.
This does indeed, hit the spot.
Arnold was truly the real 80s badass!

I loved that show 😃

I was always under the impression that this was never a single.
So I'm guessing it charted? This should've been a monster hit.
I'm genuinely confused as to why it wasn't 🤷🏻♂️
@@bendover9663 same. It's a damn good 80's song. One of the best movie songs from the era imho.

Great job!! I have this maxi but the record has many cracks and is almost unplayable. Thank you for this!!!
Why wasn't the rare extended mix released until now? Though the quality sounds a bit faded, it sound great. 😎

@@bloodhoundivan Hopefully John Parr re-releases this wonderful rare extended mix. It's epic.

@@cowboyjosh Yeah, the studio version fades out at such an odd part of the song. I do like the movie version the best.
