- 'Running To The Sea' and 'Something In My Heart' are in essence both expressions of compulsion and its strong, often uncontrollable, persisting pull. Dependence is a returning theme in our music
-B+B
'Running To The Sea' features stunning vocals by the platinum-selling Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør, and this epic, sweeping track glistens with moving beauty.
The equally elegant singing on b-side 'Something In My Heart' - a melancholy, synth hybrid - is provided by Jamie of cult orchestral pop ensemble The Irrepressibles.

The best thing about Royksopp is their originality. Everything they drop is fresh and alternative, but always so melodically strong and emotive. They are pioneers of modern electronica. This is absolutely sublime.
+Adrian Rawling Just next level! They're always two heads above the rest
Oof!
No two songs are alike. They are top of the tree.
Running to the sea sounds incredibly generic ☝️
Adrian Rawling I agree they are emotive and Devine , however they are standing on others shoulders when it comes to electronic music... Laurie Anderson comes to mind, one of many..
Love Röyskopp❤

Auditory Kintsugi
Indeed, well said, lifts your wounded soul to the stars.
Knowing when to walk away even with a broken heart and believing in time you will heal......that’s real!
Hello, sorry to bother you, but to be honest, we haven't met before. I found your profile here and I kind of like your sense of reasoning,I hope you don't mind me knowing you more?
Royksopp + Jamie Irrepressible = Gold 🥰
I've loved Royksopp for years. The Inevitable End is something else. But this song is top notch. Yer man's voice nearly breaking with desperate emotion, the warmth of the synth. Jesus, beautiful!
@Peter Lumley stay with them Peter ❤
Feelings and emotions ❤
One of the most powefull song what I heard ever in my life.
I can give you a list with powerfull lyrics

Tak prawda trzeba ich docenić za to dają dla nas ,to jest piękne❤
It seems like Röyksopp have the code to break my soul in a thousand pieces with every note, every word in every song. Anyway, the years goes by and I still love them. .
😇😇😇
I couldn't agree more, very beautifully put
какие классные слова! ты почувствовал, что я чувствую в душе!
So true❤
This is one of the most perfect tracks I've heard in my almost 27 years.
I thought I would be alone for thinking this. It's sensational.
I can't count how many times I've listened to it by now.
Zdravo, Cvijiću, pozeru i secikeso.
Zdravo, Radoviću, ljubavi moja najveća i divni čoveče :*
Your welcome, we both are 31/32 now!! ;)
how about now?
Easily one of the most beautifully crafted audio experiences of all time.
I never get enough of this song, lyrics and voice, always melting.
I can't stop listening to this, it touches my very soul.....
Jamie Irrepressible your voice is sublime!!! Royksopp's music is just perfect!
Cheers 🎉
Something about the sweet vibrato of his voice near the end of each sentence he signs ... it vibrates a bit in such a way that makes me shiver with emotion! I can't describe it.
Exactly
Røyksopp are King...loved them from the beginning and can't believe they are still making iconic, haunting classics...as for Jamie Irrepressible's vocal, I find it even more haunting...more please!
I was listening to that song near 7 years back, and finally i found it again. I had no idea this is royksopp, but i discoverd it by the voice of the singer. As i remember its specific trembling
When he goes "ooooohh" before the ref. I melt down
I can't put this emotions in words but this is the best song I've ever heard. Deep melancholy and sadness
Jamie and Royksopp ...My two music loves..
Jamie's voice is smooth like silk! melts my heart!
If one has ever been married and in love. Then divorced. And if you are being honest....... This track HAS touched your Core.
Royksopp are genuises!
Royksopp understands me - I understand Royksopp. Its a beautiful thing.
I cannot help but to feel so deeply touched when listening to this, on the verge of crying
This song truly hits on a different level. In a way that few songs struggle to achieve. With the uncontemporary beats and extremely unique voice. It's what brings me back time and time again. Tonight, to comment, all these years later. Who else is with me reminiscing on the "good times" that literally feel like yesterday. For someone as young as I am, it feels especially strange to say about...
We've been with my gf for 5 years together. And now it's over. This song make me feel sad and happy at the same time. Thank you Royksopp!
Amazing Royksopp ❤️❤️
One of the most underrated and underevaluated electronic music bands today....
It is not underrated. People are mindcontrolled and blindly follow the mainstream (see CIA project MKULTRA)
Jamie's voice is simply stunning. I can't stop listening to this!
He is Irrepressible.
eine Liebeserklärung aus der tiefsten Seele, ich weine weil ich mich so unglaublich glücklich fühle, danke Royksopp für diesrn Song!❤👌😘
The emotion, the desperation is so pure, right through heart and soul
This band are incapable of mediocrity. They imbue everything they do with absolute class, total musicality and an inspired knowledge of what it takes to stir the soul of anyone with the ability to actually 'listen' to music. Geniuses, time and again!
scottlp2323 completely agree
scottlp2323 "incapable of mediocrity" i love that.
I once walked past them and I was so starstruck lol
this band so awsome... love & regards from MacedonIA .. love , love , love u guys... 🙂🙃😊 😐🤩🤕❤❤❤
Royksopp, Ive been listening to you for so many years. and I cry everytime I hear you.
A longing in my Soul - asking for a connection and here this song appears - Soulgasmic ✨

This song gets better with each listen 🔥
For my mom.
I miss you so much. 🖤🕯️
X2 :(
i miss my mom to :S
Dla mojej też, tak dużo rzeczy od serca❤ zostało jeszcze do powiedzenia, a ona odeszła.
I listen to this and one person immediately comes to mind. I was young, stupid, and gave her up before I realized who I actually had. She left and I have spent 16 years missing her. Wondering what might have been. There have been other loves. But some people, you spend the rest of your life missing.
It's been a couple of years for me, and I can relate to that. Worse thing is, she does too. But there's nothing to be done about it.
Sometimes it feels like it'll never go away...
How I feel about my dog.
Holy Fuck... i'm also very familiar with this sentiment.and i bet the vast majority of ppl that searched this song are like us
Same thing happened to me. She wanted to be with me, but I had to find myself first. I was afraid and confused. And it took too long. I lost her. I found myself but then lost almost everything in the process.
@@imtryinghere1 I'm guessing none of you is dead yet.
Go.
Love this song, truly. Emotion at its core, burning....
Why is it that sorrow or sadness feels the more stronger of our emotions even above joy or happiness and that even with a little sorrow, we can truly feel alive, happy and grateful.
I turned this on when I was sad, and it's oddly soothing
True
I almost forgot this beautiful song... I am so happy it came up on TH-cam. I remembered how much I loved it. It's on my spotify now.
Roysopp is just something else.
Royksopp is freaking addictive!
I have a broken heart in 2020 and the only thing that holds it together is the love that others have for the others they miss or desire in their hearts. I am both sorry for you all and inspired for your persistence. May you find the love and joy that you deserve.
this song is crazy good
Masterpiece. This will always be one of my faves. Please do more collabs with Jamie Irrepressible, Royksopp! ❤
A masterpiece, original, rythm, touchy !!!

It gives me hope. The hope to be stronger, and keeping fighting for her. I can't thank you guys enough.
Just speachless , im not able to describe what i feel when i listen to this
One of the most beautiful songs ever written...
Unfortunately its not original. They burnt off Red Sky by Thrice.
Pure Genius! I can't get enough of this!
There are billions of wonderful women in this world but the one that touched me deeply and blew my mind. Doesn't want me in her life. This song expresses what I feel deep inside. Thank you
This song is my soul right, it's not about romance this isn't about perspective or or, this is what I can be. This is what I can feel. Something in my heart makes me feel this more. It's not a romance, this sound this song, is what I can be. This is what I can feel.
This song literally tugs the heart so hard, it's unbelievable!
out of the ordinary, out of this world!
Juste magnifique.
all i can feel is deep melancholy; what a perfect song

Omg Irrepressible! And Royksopp collab! My heart!!!!
Today i discovered this masterpiece.
Now on loop🔁
"Something in my heart" moves beyond soul and heart with one of the most beautiful songs in its genre. Mr J. Irresistible sings like a God. The Lyrics are so well placed in his performance and the beats and music from Røyksopp adds it up to one of the strongest love songs ever made!
Недавно открыла для себя это чудо! Волшебно❤
Oh my, I repeat again a discovery in 2020... It's too...much tool talented to be true......You are so talented.... You have melted my heart....❤️❤️❤️
the voice ofJamie from The Irrepresibles is fucking beautiful.

You say that time can't heal
The broken heart you stole
I don't know what's real
You are what I can't be
You are what I can't be
You say that time can't heal
The broken heart you stole
I don't know what's real
You are what I can't feel
You are what I can't feel
The simple, honest, refined , sharp and poetic description of this songs - about dependence and addiction - is the most beautiful piece of text i have read. Extremely beutiful, so fragil, so human. I love this. Very deeply. Love and gratitude for yout work. Much respect and gratitude. We are not alone. We are one. Thank you again. From Portugal / planet earth :-)
And here I am stumbling in 10 years later. 🤦🏼 Better late than never.
Even though I haven't had a loving one, this song is so deep and good, that it makes me feel, to love someone, as if something in my heart makes me miss this noone so much. This song makes me to be in Love.
Thank you Röksopp,
You are great!
Absolutely fabulous! Gets to the depths of the darkest soul...

What a beautiful voice, and what a beautiful, organic way Royskopp has in blending music, lyrics and unique vocals in their works. Thanks, guys.
Just another great Royksopp song
When you really feel the pain in your heart and you know you're heart is whole and complete with the pain and all, thank you to Royksopp for helping one see this.
Good answer!
@@miklosvolgyi4676 Thansk! Actaully, I live in Israel and there's an Israeli song that says somthing pretty close, that a broken heart is a complete heart, so I borrowed it also from that song.
This song is incredible, the last minute though.... turn that up and wow.......
My boyfriend suggested me this song back when he just started liking me, from then this song has became so close to My heart. The lyrics cried out his feelings for me. And now we are getting married ❤
That's actually really beautiful 😁
Клёво. Давно такой душевной музыки и песни не слышал. Молодцы!
This song is incredibly beautiful....it touches my heart
I don't even know why, but this song makes me cry. It's so beautiful.
Ooooh Ooooh Ooooh
Something in my heart
Something in my heart
Still you're in my heart
Questa non è semplicemente una traccia....questa è pura meraviglia !!!
Continuate a stupire.....sempre !!!
Prima o poi vi ascolterò Live !!! e sarà splendido....
Honestly, since I first heard you guys so many years ago you have been the greatest band for me. Hanging on every song, cheers!
Really glad you like us Cody. Best Wishes.
song analysis:
slow, but irregular bass - relaxing the heart, but not quite, since it skips everyone now and thensteady, wavelike midtones that have a spinning, hypnotic, pressing, quality to themhigh pitch that lightly accentuates the soft excitement in the baselinedreamlike surreal vocals that is hard to pin down if male or female alliding to mystery, just has a relaxed strength to itsurreal additional effects, playing with the subconcious, relaxed atmosphere set up by the restlyrics: minimal, surreal, fractioned, more painting pictures than telling a story
overall a very dreamlike, sad, but also hopeful mix that pulls you in, but not down.
thanks guys, great work!
sorry, forgot the chorus:
an awakening of sorts that evoke a sensation of enlightenment. feels positive, when in fact its the saddest part :)
awesome!
+oooodaxteroooo amazing analysis, mind if i quote you in my facebook?
+oooodaxteroooo Good grief, impressive, it was wonderful reading that! This is reminiscent of a strain of early eighties pop in Britian, the pace and synths, vocals too; if you don't know of that type of music already have a dig around, you may like some of it.
+Jackie Cottrell i'd love to hear some recommended bands that fit this early 80s British pop you speak of.
geenatron
Hi there, well i'll give a general picture of the scene so you can have fun with TH-cam, some of this stuff you may have even heard of before, if you really like it then hopefully my info will help you to dig further into more obscure stuff:)
It was known as Synth-Pop, became prominent in the UK from 1980 till '84, singers sounded like Bowie or Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music a lot of the time, as these artists influence was obvious.
Very early leanings from 1974 has to be Sparks, an American Duo which had more success over here, different from the Brit '80's stuff but i will put it out there:)
Two songs you may like is Icehouse - Hey Little Girl from 1982, from Australia but with that English sound as the singer sounded a lot like David Sylvian from Japan, himself sounding like Ferry; and Split Enz - I Got You, synths galore:)
Then there's the glorious Enola Gay from Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark or OMD for short; albums were good too. Ultravox, their well known hit was Vienna, try John Foxx the orignal member of Ultravox before Midge Ure with his hit Underpass, a great record.
Listen to The Model, a single by Kraftwerk from 1974, VERY ahead of it's time.
You may like Fade To Grey by Visage, then there's the aforementioned Japan, Tears for Fears, whose Mad World was the original, Bronski Beat, their hit Smalltown Boy was very moving, the excellent Talk Talk, Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys, and New Order, who renamed themselves from Joy Division after the suicide of THEIR lead singer, Ian Curtis. Lastly, Human League. But there are lots more.
If you're not familiar at all with this style of Music, then after hearing some of the above suggestions you will understand why i likened it to that era, Synths, pace and vocal style is very reminiscent of that time. No doubt by design as well:)
See how you get on with that lot and please come back and tell me how you got on. I hope i helped:)
With this song Röyksopp is in my heart! Perfection!
