The way your wolf res’d itself was the shrine that was right around the corner. You practically pulled the Carnage Reaper to it. It was so good. As usual loved the episode. Hirelings do have a learning curve to get past their quirks and make them more active participants. Based on your play style I think you’ll be pretty happy when you can cut them completely.
ahhhh ok i see, had no idea any of the hires/summons were able to do such things without being told to :) I'm afraid i shall never be a hireling fan - way too many glitches for my liking, so yes i'll be very glad when they can be relegated once more to occasional lever pullers or ddoor makers :) Given i prefer not to use them actively, i made a really bad mistake either not using flame blade myself and / or shunning bear form here.
The howl proves to be both very good and a bit costly. Some Warlocks get access to howl spell somewhere around the cap I think but not all of them. Was the Howl of the Hunter core enhancement in the NW tree the one you were thinking of? iirc the tattered gloves that give spell crit at lvl 2 are from that quest in the hills where you rescue the three ppl. Targeting your pet is, by default, control-1 (running a skelly a lot pays off). Fun Fact: If you have a mob targeted (like that pesky reaper) you can click on your hireling or pet's 'Use" button and they will attack it. Control click on the 'use' button and ALL hirelings/pets will attack it. Since the recent updates I have noticed that some hirelings will just stand around and not follow you as quickly as I would want. Could this be a 'lag' cure, cutting down on hireling processing? Hell, I'm not even sure my observations are correct. They do seem to quickly look for secret doors, so perhaps hireling processing is not something dev's are considering. Good show!
Cheers Doc, it's my lack of attention to the mana pool which is more than a bit costly on occasion :) I am sure there have been some occasions i've howled and not really needed to. I could of course have made all this irrelevant by using bear form or flame blade to take advantage of all those howled targets and despatch them way faster. Noted with thanks re hirelings/pet. I can't comment about them standing around as that's what they've always seemed to do for me & I use them very sparingly as you know - Terry would be the one to talk on that :)
