- Ah yes! Just in time! This segmented playthrough covers all 150 levels in Super Monkey Ball 2 without using any warps. And just to make it more comparable to the first Super Monkey Ball, I played each difficulty with the default 3 lives. That made Expert (& Extras) & Master (& and those Extras) a real grind but so well worth it. It was then I noticed that while you can use Play Points towards more "lives" up to 99, you are still limited to 5 Continues. In the first, you are limited to 3 lives, but Play Points can go towards unlimited Continues after the 9th (a necessity for finishing Masters for the first time).
- There is a glitch level, but it's just a tiny square level that was left in the code. For me, that does not count. - เกม

When I was a kid, Arthropod was the hardest level in the damn game. It took me MONTHS to complete it in Story mode, and even then it was by chance. One of the "feet" punched me through the ring and straight through the goal. Needless to say I nearly wet myself from glee.
Months? It took me several hours. It is arguably the hardest level in the entire game, I don't wanna do that one again e.e

For some reason as a kid I had the hardest time trying to do Totalitarianism and the memory of that level in particular has stayed with me for years. I had the first and second monkey ball and I played the second to death, literally, I scratched the disk up till it was unplayable. After a while I wasn't sure if I had even played the level or not because I could only play the first game anymore and wasn't sure if it even existed because at this point it has been 12 years since I have played it last. thanks to this I can now confirm the stage that haunted my dreams is real. 12:46
I had bad reflexes as a kid and the only way I beat it was because I was launched into the goal, looking back at it now, If i could play the second one again, I think I would be able to beat it no problem.
As far as both score and speed goes, I am severely outclassed by TheFearowofTime and scrap651. Also, I consider myself an honest player. As far as record times goes, I believe that some of them are created by pausing repeatedly and showing the run as a Replay rather than recording it in real time in Practice Mode. I will demonstrate this technique in a future upload. This is not to disrespect the Super Monkey Ball community. I merely throw this point out there to think about. Besides, when comparing strats, I'd like to be able to look at the time and speed in real time to make sense of the execution of gameplay. If people defy these principles, they might as well be making tool-assisted runs. The only exception is pausing once in a range of frames and changing input in the menu to definitively clear levels such as Flock, Coin Slots, Spasmodic, Synchronized, or Arthropod quickly. I use that as a speed/entertainment tradeoff.

+MetalYoshi ProGamer Did You Know Gaming recently did a video on this series. Apparently BE-3, Bumpy, has a section that actually is Braille, and it reads, "Hi. This is Jamad. Yes, this is Braille. I respect you!" or something like that, not sure if those are the exact words. Jamad is possibly a nickname for one of the stage designers of the game.
I knew most of those facts before the video came out. In fact, I submitted the reversed video clip on their website months ago.
There is an actual MB arcade cabinet at the Galloping Ghosts Arcade less than an hour from my house, and it is hard as balls.
Personally, I'm stoked that the series is getting more recognition - likely in no small part due to FearowOfTime/Geoff streaming Deluxe all the time.
I enjoy the Volcanic Magma and Clock Tower Factory stages a lot.
Yes the Clock Tower Factory background hosts the Boiling Pot stages in Challenge Mode, and Volcanic Magma stages in Story Mode are easy. But in Challenge Mode, The Volcanic Magma background hosts the Clock Tower Factory stages (Expert Stages 31-39 for Volcanic Magma in Challenge Mode and World 8-1 through 8-9 for Clock Tower Factory in Story Mode (All same stages)). Don't you agree?
So many memories of playing this game flooded back into my head just by watching this
I do like to watch playthroughs of games without really caring whether or not people used tools, however it is a hell of a lot more fun to watch when they don't use too many glitches or shortcuts, like you haven't. Awesome stuff.
My jaw still drops at this.. Especially since it wasn't TAS'd on an emulator too. Glad to see that even experts, sorry, masters make mistakes sometimes.

Believe it or not, I actually beat that one on my first try EVER.
I don't think I saw it here, but when I was younger me and my brothers could never beat this on water themed level, and it gave us HELL.
+D-NetSavior The water levels are Advanced 11-19. I'm assuming you're referring to either Reversible Gear or Twister, since those are the only difficult levels. Dribbles is not hard so much as annoying.

You might be thinking of Expert #22 from the first game. This is all non-beta/glitch floors from the 2nd game for the GameCube.

Do you have any advice for beating the level Warp (Expert 37) at 49:00? I'm stuck on that one in Story Mode :( Holding onto the edge is brutal on my hands.
There are three side slopes of increasing steepness, and I suppose the first two are no problem, but the final one pushes you off the edge. For the first two, you can slowly drift down a little bit, even almost coming to a stop and push up-right or up-left against the slope, only briefly twisting the stick to straight-up before going at a diagonal again. For the last one, give yourself some distance from the line of bumpers. Align yourself with them, then run straight toward them briefly, holding up-right just as you're starting to drift left, and briefly curl the thumb back up a few times as needed while mostly holding up-right. This is probably the toughest floor of that world. Cheers!

i used to play this on my GameCube I miss those times.
Why did you get 14957 play points, instead of 17080 play points? I thought the most play points (17080) is earned when all the stages of Expert, Expert Extra, Master and Master Extra were finished with no warps and no continues used. You didn't use a continue, either.
