I like the video and the narrative. Some times it is hard to see what item is being clicked on in the video, but with the narrative it is clear. I think this part could be drawn with using sheet metal, but I can see no way to be sure of the slot length if done that way. I would draw the clamp profile, extrude boss base, the turn the part 90 degree and draw in a profile for a extrude cut. The rest would be easy. Problem as I stated it is I could not get the exact dimensions for the slot as required by the drawing using the method.
