Aviation Mech here, Why cant you use a variable pitch prop? Adjust the pitch, prop rpm and throttle all on the fly. Feather it, bring the rpms up and lay into the pitch when you launch it, much like a slipper clutch but for an airboat lol, Its cable driven.
Coming from the uk I never realised there was that much to do on air boats I thought it was just a case of moving weights from back to front of the hull to balance the weight of the engine. I got a real education from this video 👍
Considering the weight difference, you did pretty damn good on the drag race!! Get it tuned and see that "honda" in the rear view!!

Would love to bring my big block jet boat out with you guys on the river! It did 57mph before we did some upgrades, should be good for atleast 60mph now. I can’t imagine going faster than that on an airboat!
