This will help any person to face any emergency. This can be added for ur viewer's. Other option to save with good return on sip is low risk debt fund. Or can keep 50/ 50 ratio of liquid and debt fund for emergency funds

Liquid funds and bank fds both are equally risked. However choose best AMC whose has more value in market and which is too big to fall. For eg. Hdfc, sbi, govt. AMC. Lesser risk of money getting vanished. However liquid funds never go down. Once in a while they show negative returns. They walk to grow in speed of tortoise

Now if you put your money in FD, you're loosing your money not gaining because most of the banks give around 5-6% FD rates and inflation is above 6%, meanwhile you'll be paying tax on your profit which actually results in lesser value of your money.

Prasad you also should tell about amount settlement ratio... It's same important as claim settlement ratio... Most of the insurance company hide this data..
just curious to know : Did you keep all your investments in equity ? Because even if you did not maintain emergency fund, you could have taken out something from your debt part like FDs , debt mutual fund or others. or probably emergency requirement was beyond it?. Also , Why do you suggest monthly SIP for emergency fund , since it is for emergency use it should be accumulated at the earliest (even before regular investment) . SIP of 1% will just give false sense of security , because emergency will not wait for your SIP corpus to build in liquid fund.

You should have another policy. You should not be dependent on employer because if you left the organization at any time. You policy will be discontinue and at time you can be in trouble
