Hey Logan, I saw this when you first did it. I came back to watch again. I could not find if I commented previously. It is so nicely done. Thanks for sharing it. Your grandparents were a huge part of my young years growing up in Angelo. I was very sad at the passing of each of them. Even now a year later, just watching this and hearing your mention of their passing was very emotional for me. I loved them both very much. They meant so much to me and are a large part of who I am and my life. Continue to enjoy your journey. -Terry
I just recently made a trip to North Carolina with my mom to visit family we haven't seen in about 18 years. My dad's uncle and his wife were a huge part of my childhood, they were basically my grandparents. But shortly before my great uncle died, they moved from California back home to NC. Now his wife has dementia and it's progressing, so my mom and I decided that a trip was way overdue. During that trip we got to look through their house and belongings to see what we wanted to bring back before my great aunt's daughter sold it. In there we found lots of photos from decades past when they were newly wed, traveling the country, visiting other sides of the family, etc. All similar to ones in this video, they remind me a lot of my family. I got to see glimpses of their youth, of my dad and aunt when they were my age, and my grandma who died before I turned 1. I got to keep my great uncle's old film cameras, his leather work bag, a cap, and some landscape paintings they inherited from my great great grandma. I got to visit his grave and see his final resting place. Seeing all that history was very cathartic, and although I was only a child when I got to spend time with my dad's side of the family, I can't help but feel connected to them as I travel through the Southwest, and live through them by carrying on their hobbies, interests, belongings etc. I grieve not knowing more about them and our time together being cut short. I hope to honor their spirits by making it apart of me. I'm glad this video came across my screen and know I'm not alone.
Im sorry for your loss! But this was a beautiful video from you. I was already waiting and hoping for another video of you. I hope your family will also “enjoy” watching this video together with you. And bring back some memories together. Thank you ❤
This was really well assembled in a way that feels intuitive and familiar but also atypical of and counter to a lot of the content I think most of us consume. The sequencing was so good.
This chanel is hidden gem huge treasure i found it randomly. I’ve seen all you videos phenomenal work good job buddy! i wanna see more short films made by your bolex 😊
It’s wild that I’m always disappointed when your videos end, I wish they could keep going. Thanks for making great content that rises to the top of everything else being put out right now, it’s a nice breath of air
first time I'm watching a video from you and this was touching. Beautiful and heartfully well done. Sometimes the algorithm nails with its suggestions.
Poignant. My wife and I have lost our grandparents and our parents. There is no gen. between us and eternity. But there’s one thing I’ve seen. When this worldly day ends we all return to our common home of love where there is no more dying and all our tears are wiped away forever. So be of good cheer and keep walking.
Genuinely missed your cheeky face. Loved all 9:29 seconds of this. Good to see you, hope you're doing well, hope to see more with you...and did I mention I hope you're doing well? Cheers ~ Peter
Your videos are such high quality. I first saw your NYC video a few years ago and it’s stuck with me ever since, but I could never find it again. Low and behold this one pops up in my recommendations and I instantly knew you were the same guy. You have a unique style of video making, and I look forward to seeing more!
Born in Odessa,Tx but my family is from Persidio and Ft.Davis nothing can beat the sky at dawn and dusk there is magic in the sky even here in Odessa the West Texas sky speaks to your soul.
This was so powerful. I recently lost both my grandmothers over the last 8 months, looking through the old photos was a treasure. Thank you for opening up and showing/speaking on how important family can be. Wishing you well ✨
Thank you for sharing this story with us, Logan. There's this magnetic and mystical pull in West Texas that I haven't been able to shake off since I last visited. Glad to have you back!
It's good to have you back. I'm very sorry for your loss. You've really conveyed a sense of history with this one. PS. I tried getting in touch a while ago about a university paper I wrote about photography museum exhibitions compared to TH-cam where I used one of your videos as an example of great cinematic storytelling. I'd be happy to send it to you if you're interested.
Hey Christian, so sorry I missed this. Thank you for such kind words! If you still have the paper I'd love to read it. Feel free to send to loganbaker40@gmail.com
West Texas is one of those places people love to dunk on for having nothing to see, but your images proved them wrong. Good stuff and I hope you find the time to do more uploads!
Man I was so moved by this, thank you so much for sharing this journey and telling the story in this special way. Always a true gift when I see a new Logan Baker vid appear.

Absurdly beautiful Logan. Thank you for sharing such a personal project, I lost my mother this past December and this really hit a cord. Glad to see you sharing your art again, I'll definitely be coming back to this video many more times in the future. Hope you and your family are well.
Man, it is nice to see an upload from you. Your channel is a diamond in the rough, and I hope there’s more coming soon. Condolences to your family. This was a nice tribute to your grandfather, and I hope you found some peace in creating it. And for the love of god, can someone please help me remember what jingle sampled the song at 00:31?!
