    Learned a lot. Thanks for the video. Going to try the Dr Pulley weights on my Honda Reflex. I want to lower the rpm’s at 65 and 70 some. Try some mixed weights.

    Great channel and video! I just bought a ruckus a few weeks back and I enjoy watching your videos for insight. What weight combination did you get the best acceleration with in this test? Maybe I missed something in the video, but I was just interested in your thoughts since the top speed seemed to be fairly constant. Thanks!

      the lightest set got the fastest to 44 , but I think 44 was the max, the second med set was good and had room to accelerate to faster speeds, the heavy was to heavy and I ran with that for a while and I could never get to 9000 rpm. I would go for the 4.5 and 5.5. Thanks for watching!

    Sooo….I have some questions that I didn’t see mentioned that could certainly affect your results….what variator are you using? What weight are you? I am trying to decide the best weights for my gf metropolitan with a polini and she is 100lbs. I would assume lighter weights…?

    Interesting, it's not as clear cut as I thought it would be. I was under the impression that the CVT "variates" in like a 1500 rpm range or something, and above or below is pretty much minimum or maximum gearing, but you seem to be pulling the rpms down at the top end, so you're not maxed out in gear ratio at the top end (well, potentially with the heaviest weights I guess)
    Seems pretty concrete that you're power limited to 44 regardless of gearing, which is kinda interesting.

      45 is reasonable max, unless you port , polish, lightened flywheel, and other mods. Lighetend flywheel seems to be the next mod I should have done next.

    Great video/channel! Keep them coming, if I could ask a question. I have tried several weights 4.5, 5, 5.5 and all the combinations of those weights but don’t see any real difference/improvement. I seemed to settle with all 4.5 and top out at 43. Am i going to have to get a tachometer to get the best results?

    • @SmallEngineVelocity
      @SmallEngineVelocity  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I felt the same way with my wights. Your looking for (I was looking for) about 9200 rpm @ 44 because I know I can get to 9800 if conditions are great. Aas a suggestion try the stock belt also to see if you get improvement. All in all a tach is a MUST for fine tuning.

    Great vid...too bad we’re no where near the same weight...you would have saved me some money on sliders! Trail tech is working out great on your bike!

      I think rider weight means less than what people think but yes it does make a difference. I had never seen a video like this so I decided to try it. Maybe make a few more like it with different weights.

    • @SmallEngineVelocity
      @SmallEngineVelocity  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Much different than 70mph at 9000. I think I changed the number because it was a bit below 9000

    • @TANWare
      @TANWare 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but it is not meant for 70 MPH. Even the KP 150 is only meant for 55 speed limit roads. I do however like the idea of an occasional short jaunt on the freeway. I weight 220, 5"10' and 44" waist so more weight and air to move here.

    • @SmallEngineVelocity
      @SmallEngineVelocity  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TANWare avg speed for the Lifan is probably about 45-55 for me

    • @TANWare
      @TANWare 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is about the same here. 55 is the max except when testing top end. So as is, without carb work, it fits my use perfectly. Just would like to have a little more extra.

    • @SmallEngineVelocity

      I want to ride mine for A LONG time so its best to keep the RPM down - Good reason for the 35T for me.

  • @jurisvzauls2263

    You wont hit 9000 with the heavier weight cause its EFI governed at 44mph

    • @SmallEngineVelocity
      @SmallEngineVelocity  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was able to hit a max of 57.2 mph as a 49cc before I went to a motor swap
