As a native English speaker I can sympathise . English is actually a fruit salad of every language that impacted England over its thousands of years history. When Celt, German, Norse, French, latin and later every language from its empire brough words and sounds and random exceptions to the usual grammar.... it is the hardest language to master as a result. But and Put .. almost the same spelling but the "ut" pronounced totally different ... only the words origin makes the difference so its very hard to keep simple. I see Byul trying hard to get better at English, may God himself help in ( I mean that) as I can see she really does want to communicate well. It really isnt easy.

Most languages are a mish mash of stuff though, including modern Korean. Spoken English is no harder than any other language, and the grammar is consistent (even with borrowed words, because they’ve been adapted to fit English - just like English words in Korean) - it’s just our spelling and written grammar that’s insane. I sympathise with Moonbyul as someone who has tried to learn a second language, it’s hard no matter what!
The difficulty for a Korean speaker to say ‘gold’ is because the “hard l + d with a hard stop” combo is impossible in Korean
