- Part 3 - the rev counter. The switch pack is done, the Climate Control is done and now the rev counter. Next will be the Speedo and then the other smaller items like the tyre pressure switch and heated seat buttons (albeit they use a different LED so will need to work that one out!)
With the rev counter there are a few items that I did not do, but could be done:
1. You could remove the orange tape of the back of the needle
2. It is possible to change the backlight on the LCD, I have seen it done...just not sure how.
3. The red line lights could also be changed to suit your style
4. You can also get replacement dial facia's. I know of a company in the UK, Chameleon LED on FB - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This looks so cool! I'd want the on-board computer screen blue as well, and the needle would look better in red, but it's still absolutely striking!
The blue on the display is great at night but awful during the day, I am going to change to white lights. The needles have been painted a yellow with blue lights, I am going to change to yellow lights.
Thank you
Awesome work ❤
Thank you! Still not quite done, this is fiddly work!!
What size of LED?
Would it be about the same work on a 2010 coop s? I alr did this for my 98 ranger but that was very easy
I would say fairly similar. The dash comes away a little different, but there is still just a speedo in behind it from what I know
Why the red leds on number 7 and 8 didnt work? i have same problem
I have not got back to fixing that yet. The reason will be due to one of them, the first inline from the power source, is not mounted properly. Either the contacts are not connecting or it is around the wrong way.
You would need to check to see if there is a viable reason for the issue. Try to meter out the problem or just remove them all and try again.
so would you not recommend for somebody that's never done anything like this before?
If you have never done soldering before and don’t have the right equipment, then probably not. However, the point in my channel is to encourage people to have a go. My suggestion would be to buy a spare switch set or ac panel and then try to swap the LED’s On that. If it works then try again. Get some practice on old second hand parts
Where did you get the leds from? I wanna change all mine to blue like that
Just got them off eBay, let me find a link for you….i’ll come back to you with the link I used
I searched for these: 3528 SMD Surface Mount LED SMT PLCC-2 - White Red Blue Green Yellow Amber RGB
It was Switch Electronics was the seller. Note it you are doing the lights on the tyre sensor and above, some of these are different types of
@@hyphensclassicsdo you mean that all the warning lights are a different type of LED?
@@mertcapkin7263 no not all. Most in the dash are the same. Things like the lights in the tyre pressure switch, heated seat switch (if you have them)
Thanks for showing nothing
? What did you expect to see?
