Viewers tuned in for entertainment, but also for instruction and insight.
    The series aired successively over the CBS, ABC, and NBC networks, consistently attracted 16 million viewers to each episode, and won more than 65 awards, including nine Emmys and two Peabody awards.

    I respect Mr. Cooke and, of course, remember him from Masterpiece Theater but he should have left the performing to Les Paul & Mary Ford. Les Paul...what a genius! Thanks for posting this piece of TV history!

    Classic 1950s TV! Les was a guitar virtuoso and a master of multitrack recording. 3:28 3:41

    When multi-track (2`track) recordings appeared in the 50's, the children of musicians remember how their parents told them not to listen to it, that it was an insult to music and a deception.
    Imagine them now if they listened to autotune with the AI voice of a dead man.

    overly chatty and almost bullying interviewer thinks its also about him, but otherwise mary & les were cool.
